    Mush vs lobster claw meat.

We were excited to go to this market on our way to Halifax from Moncton. We arrived at 6 PM. Entered via the fruit and vegi area and found it all clean and seemed fresh. Prices however were higher than the local supermarkets. Including dairy and dry goods I didn't see anything spectacular as to choices. The prepared food area seemed ok for sandwiches. The bakery was empty which saddened us because that was why we stopped. Only a few rolls and prepared sweet breads such as muffins. Well on to the promised lobster dinner. It was a food truck outside and in the rain. Not a single dry table. So we went to the seafood market in search of frozen shelled lobster. At almost $40 CAD/pound we went for it and decided to make our on lobster rolls. See the pictures more than 1/2 the lobster was mushy ground up Lobster much to our disappointment. I had to separate the claw meat out and made our rolls. See pictures. Yep not stopping here again!

    They have sheese!

What a unique place. Part grocery store, part cafe, part gift shop. There's lots of cool things to discover in the middle of nowhere. We've made a habit of stopping here on our trips to New Brunswick. It's usually a busy spot so parking can sometimes be tough but they have lots of goodies if you need a snack for the road. Vegans are even able to find some goodies.

Masstown Market is a great place to stop on your sojourn through Nova Scotia. Almost anyone who travels regularly in the Nova Scotia corridor knows about Masstown - it's *the* place to stop when you're on the road. Originally starting life as an ice cream stand and produce market, Masstown Market has grown to encompass a variety of offerings. There's a deli, a produce market, a limited grocery section, seasonal plants, gifts, jewelry ... and don't forget the lunch counter! Masstown's lunches are legendary. Sandwiches, salads and soups - including chowder! - are on offer all day. Prices are reasonable and servings are hearty, which is what you need when you're trying to put as many miles behind you as possible. Because it has such high turnover in clientele, sometimes the facilities aren't as hygienic as you might like. This is usually corrected quite quickly, however, and that's all you can ask for. If you're pushing through from Halifax to points west (or coming back home!), break your drive at the Masstown Market. You'll be glad you did!

A random winter, err spring, road trip brought us to Masstown Market. Half because we wanted to wave to the NS Webcam, half because we heard they serve delicious seafood chowder. They do! It was lunch time when we arrived and the cafeteria end of the market was crawling with hungry people! We both has a bowl of seafood chowder and a half sandwich. The sandwiches are made on your choice of fresh homemade bread and top with 'real' meat; nothing processed here! I had turkey on white with honey mustard, it was perfection! A tea biscuit came with my seafood chowder and I ended up buying a pack of them to rake home; they were that good! We were very impressed with the prices and wish it was realistic to drive there for lunch everyday! We briefly browsed around their grocery goods and gift shop; this place is certainly a gem and worth stopping in! I can't wait to road trip there again, hopefully in warmer weather;!

When customers are treated poorly (or extremely well), they will tell everyone they know about it. That's exactly what I'm doing right now. If you take proper action, I might change my rating. Until then, this is what you get. I had a horrible experience at your store today. The cashier was wonderful (so, please don't reprimand her; she did nothing wrong), but it just takes one experience with a rude employee after to leave a bitter taste in your mouth. After we were done shopping, my husband and I were getting ready to leave. He needed to use the washroom. I drove the motorised cart close to the entrance/exit area, waiting. (The other motorised cart was still available). We had purchased home related items (bedsheets, etc.). So, I waved the receipt to the employee standing at the front entrance area, before I put my receipt inside the packaging of one of the items. I stood up to just put my phone (with my credit card) into my pocket. Next thing I know, this other employee (elderly white male) is eyeing my legs, as if ambulatory wheelchair users don't exist. He then approaches me and asks me if I need the cart. I say "yes, of course". He prods me with the same question repeatedly, and now I'm finding myself having to explain my physical issues (which is really none of his business). He then proceeds with "you'll know what it's really like when you're my age" and then goes on and on about all the surgeries he's had. It's unfortunate that he's had several surgeries, but that is no excuse to antagonise me when I am just trying to shop and leave. He then asks to see my receipt (note, he wasn't doing this for other customers; he wasn't the employee standing at the entrance for any of this; this was clearly a personally targeted situation). I pull it out of the packaging I tucked it into and he goes over every item line by line. Again, this would make sense if he was doing this for all customers, but nope. Just me, AFTER giving me grief for using the motorised cart that is there for people like me who need it to shop. When my husband (white able-bodied male) arrived, his tone changes, but he still goes on and on, and follows us for a bit, as we are trying to leave. We just ended the conversation and left as quickly as possible. In the past, I have been rudely asked if I need the motorised cart (which I absolutely do), and it is annoying, but they don't normally keep bothering me with it. It's a minor annoyance. What happened today was well beyond that. It was ableist, racist, sexist and ageist, especially when he started following us and saying that his friend with arthritis works on a computer all day. Cool, I also have arthritis and work on a computer all day. Just because I'm a disabled woman of colour doesn't mean that I am lazy or have no career. Train your employees to not harass disabled POC customers at your stores. That kind of behaviour is not acceptable.

They opened the fitting room for my sister and five minutes before the store was closing they started harassing my sister and parents to leave the store because it was closing. We were not planning on staying longer than the closing time but they were kind of making us feel super bad and made us walk all around on the outside of the mall to our car. The old lady was especially rude and I would even go to say they were both racist. Kept repeating the mall is closed like we didn't understand English. Super disappointed and never shopping at the Mic Mac Hudson Bay because of this experience.

My visits to The Bay are almost exclusively for their perfume and cologne department. They have one of the widest ranges I've ever seen (making up for my first unsuccessful stop at Shoppers), the staff knows their stuff, and just about anything comes with random gifts-with-purchase that make nice add-ons to your planned Christmas shopping.
