When she called to make this year's appointment, it was discovered that they (Chans) had received a check for my daughter last year that she was never informed of and was just put in her file. Don't know why it was sent there since the return was filed electronically. This year my daughter filed in early March. At the end of March she called Chans to see why nothing was showing on IRS site for her. They delayed filing AGAIN! It's now May and when she called Chans for help/advice she was given the public IRS number you can get online, and told she was on her own, but that Chans had already gotten their money for filing her return. No help, no concern. They also completely lost my grandsons return, which being a very young inexperienced guy, he can not now find, and of course there is info that he needs for this year. What kind of service completely loses that info! They seem to be completely unconcerned and disinterested.

Mr. Milligan is a very nice guy, and apologized for the mistakes and took action to correct them, buy re-doing the tax forms and explaining what needed to be done. He is very knowledgeable and just made an assumption that my company would be listed as an S-Corp (as a majority of LLC's elect to be), rather than a C-Corp . I am sure this is a rare occurrence. Original Review: In our initial consultation, I went over all the details with my notes. He didn't make any notes. I assumed he knew what he was doing and figured he was the professional. When the forms were complete, I went in to sign them, but was not given a copy. He said he'd mail me the forms the next day. Seemed weird at the time, but I took it as standard procedure. I should have looked better at the forms - my fault! When the forms didn't arrive, I called. He said he'd put them in the mail. Still, no forms. I got a call asking to come pick them up, which I did. Got home and noticed some mistakes, which I emailed him about. I got a short reply, "I'll get right on it." Three weeks later, no word, so I email again asking for an update. He replied that he was going to file an amendment, but "they" don't look at amendments until September, so there was no hurry. (?). Today, I get a letter from the IRS stating that the incorrect form had been completed for my business. All I wanted is for my personal and business taxes to be done correctly. 2014 was my first year in business and I wanted to get things right and sought outside help. If all these problems are worked out to my satisfaction, I will update and amend this review.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a CPA. She was not transparent with her pricing…read moreto do my business and personal taxes for 2025. I should have known better than to trust "I'll have my associates work on it and they charge less but if I work on it I will charge my fees (300+)". The bill was almost 4k and I started crying because I didn't know how I was going to swing that. Then she sent a notice saying they would not submit my returns and would file for an extension if I didn't pay her invoice. I had every intention of paying and did on time. I asked for a breakdown of the costs for the price of doing my taxes, and she only wrote back "I saved you in taxes blah blah blah" but never gave me an explanation or breakdown of service fees. I still have no idea what her associates were charging hourly. Lesson learned. I will never do business with a firm that isn't clear about their charges for service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE.

We had a nice meeting with basic advice, and she stated it would be a couple of months before she had any numbers for me since she was currently working on quarterly taxes. We had a few email exchanges with Melissa over the next months and a phone call but never received any numbers. This year around March, my husband reached back out to them to do our yearly taxes. Melissa emailed us a few times answering some questions. For the past month, my husband and I have been uploading our tax documents into their platform without anyone from the office asking us penitent questions needed to complete our return. We still didn't know how much we were going to owe so we put our information into Turbotax to see an estimate and to make sure we were sending them everything they needed. A week before taxes were due, we asked them directly if they were going to have our taxes completed because we hadn't heard from anyone nor been asked anything about our different tax situations. We told them in the email that if they were unable to file in time, we could use Turbotax so we didn't receive a penalty but we wanted them to file them. I also told Elizabeth that it looked like we were going to owe a lot more than we expected next year because we failed to meet an exemption that we were unaware of before selling our home. I told her that I would have expected that to be something she told me during our first meeting because it makes a huge financial difference. Instead, of calling me to discuss the matter, Elizabeth sends us an email six days before taxes are due telling me that she is discontinuing our relationship because I questioned her integrity. She was also offended we had used Turbotax. The entire situation was unprofessional and immature.
