Am agreeing with some other comments in the app this place is not exactly one of the best in town to go for your fresh meats or other products. After been here waiting for over 2:00hr I noticed a lot of lack of customer service, uncleanliness and disorganized is the most accurately form of description on my take out. ***There are a lot of fake reviews of this place by PETA Snowflakes*** Living in Miami for 8 years, you are bound to end up at a Pig Roast sooner or later. I have been lucky enough to attend several and with this inside information, I knew that Matadero Cabrera - Mary's Ranch was the place to go to buy my first pig for roasting. It is a farm so the location is on the edge of Dade County, there is a lot of truck parking facilities, mines, other farms in the area, so it could be difficult for some to find. Arrived on the farm, had to ask a couple questions to find the front desk and then went and picked out my pig. In the area where you pick out the pig there are several pens based on size, I picked out one, told him to slaughter it for Caja China style roast, and then wait to pay. There were not many other people here at the time (middle of day) so the wait time was only about 20 minutes. I bought the pig about 24 hours before I was cooking it so I was able to marinade overnight. The pig came out great and I look forward to going back. They also have Cows, Goats, and Chickens (I think) Overall this is a clean facility, it is USDA inspected despite other reviews. Pigs and other animals I saw were treated humanly and were all in large enclosures which were not overcrowded at all. read more

This is crazy difficult to find in Miami... But here it is. Keep in mind this is a slaughterhouse... So if you get to come... Don't expect a flower garden in here... It's a slaughterhouse!!! The good thing is that if you like to cook your own pork, it doesnt get any better than this... Nor any fresher... Nor any cheaper! You get to pick your pig (by size and weight) and the clean ot out for you and have it ready to cook. If you are into "caja china"... This is definitely your starting point! read more

Went here for Christmas meat and it was very busy. Wanted to buy a pig but the line was long so I ended up waking up very early the next morning and going there very early. Very smelly and the pigs have very small tails unlike the ones in China that have very long tails. When it was time to pay, they asked me my name and I gave them my whole name and they said I owed them money...what? I never even stepped on there land before. So then they saw the first name was different. Will never be coming back and I don't recommend. Note:That was like 6 or 5 days away from Christmas when I went there and decided to go back the next day. read more

best place to get a whole pig for a traditional cuban caja china pig roast!!! i've been going there for 10+ years now. the other reviews are from vegan haters and all lies.. there is a usda inspection office on site to make sure usda standards are being followed. the negative reviews come from out of state individuals who have never been there! or from skinny, wimpy vegans protesting meat consumption.. vegans have no respect. it's my choice to eat meat!!! go eat your tofu!!! read more

My family lives in the area so we decided to visit this establishment for a pig roast we were having. It is hell on earth for these poor animals! PLEASE STAY AWAY! It is filthy and the the employees were horrid as well. Definitely going to 'grass fed' local organic farms from now on. This vile place needs to be SHUT DOWN!! read more

The first time I went there I was about 6 I went with my grandfather to pick a pig and they have some many to chose from and now like 20 years later I go by my self and it so easy to pick a pig and there pigs are always good we never had a bad pig so if u want a good place that will help u get a pig and want a good pig this is the place to go. read more

The only slaughterhouse I know of in Miami where one can come for a whole pig or goat. People here are friendly and pricing on animals is clearly stated. If you are going to need a pig during the Holiday's you can order and pay in advance, and you had better do it, this place is absolutely nuts the day before Christmas Eve or Thanksgiving. read more

I have personally visited this place. The conditions that the animals are in could be easily called deplorable. The stench of blood and feces was overwhelming. The pigs were kept in filthy concrete stalls. While I was there, there were employees hosing down the animals with high-pressure hoses, as they animals shook, squealed and huddled in a corner, out of fear. The photos this business show are highly inaccurate. I went to their FB page to speak of my concerns, but was blocked and my comments were deleted within an hour. One of the employees, Jake, went so far as to post multiple memes suggesting myself and others were "butt-hurt", before they deleted my access. Highly unprofessional. If you must acquire an animal to consume, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere. read more
