I was honestly overwhelmed about this place. I arrived after hearing a couple of friends saying they love this place to buy some good meat. We were able to find parking in the lot and made the line outside to walk in. Once I did, I was surprised to see how small the place is inside, its basically a two-lane area with the cashier at the end. I was very confused on how to order meat, I got a number but they were not going by those, and then I got one of the meat cutters' attention, I asked about a tomahawk, he weights it and then just jumped into another conversation with another client. I stopped in to stock up on meat. I got a great price on a huge 10 lb bag of chicken quarters (which is what I was looking for). $10!!! I happily walked away with a huge haul of meat. -beautiful, hand picked 1.5 lbs of churrasco, cut to my request. -a LARGE package of "Rabo" which is the tail. MY FAVORITE! When I made it, 4 of us ate a good size dinner and had leftovers for two more meals. -a giant sized package of colombian chorizo. During a pandemic you'd expect a business to be on top of their hours and availability but instead these guys are all based on luck. We tried viewing their Instagram and google to view their operating hours and they say they will remain open and continue selling their meats but when arriving Sunday at 1:15pm (when it says they close at 3pm) my husband waits outside for more than 10mins without any advisory and has to ask if he can purchase meats. He then is rudely told they're closed as if he should have known. No update on social media, no communication anywhere, no respect. I understand everyone is stressed out but don't post that you'll continue operating like normal if you actually won't. read more

I accompanied my mom who was buying steaks for a bbq and i took advantage to buy salmon when I saw it at $7.99lb, but I instantly regretted the buy. I am very particular on my fish and i would much rather spend a few extra bucks at Publix. The meats are good for the prices you purchase these. If you're a red meat eater and have a bbq, buy your cuts here. They have some vegetables inside and outside of the store, but again go somewhere else for this. Ricky's is about as cool as it gets when it comes to Miami butchers. It's been around forever. You can get a great price on prime and choice cuts here, especially if you hit them on sale. We got prime NY strips for $7.99/lb one day. They have other cuts that you won't be able to get at regular supermarkets, meaning both type of cut and size. This is a great place to get good quality chorizo and blood sausage. You can also pick up some essential vegatables, seasonings, and other stuff, but there is not a huge selection. This place is connected to a car wash, too. If it's your first time, you're going to want to walk past the car wash and enter into Ricky's through the hung plastic strips. ORDERING PROCESS If your Spanish isn't very strong, let me help you not look like an idiot (like me). It starts simple. Get a number. Then you need pick out the other stuff that you can grab yourself. Place your order once they call your number, and give them the stuff you picked out yourself. To pay, go to the counter to the left of the meat counter (it's directly in front of you when you walk in). Now, take your receipt/ticket outside and turn right. They will prepare your order and someone will bring it to you, using your receipt to identify your order. Repeat weekly! Ricky's is a great resource for all your red-meat supply needs (they also have pork). I wouldn't come here if I need only a few pieces of filet or something, but I always come here before a BBQ. (and when I say BBQ, I don't mean the American version during 4th of July... I mean the real Argentine/ Uruguay BBQ... the good stuff!) They have great short ribs (@ only $3.49/lb!) and good quality churassco (I think around $3.99/lb). Some of the meats have a weight minimun, (short ribs are 10 lb min) but you can get a smaller amount, it's just that it'll be a little more expensive. If you want filet mignon, I think you have to get the whole vacum sealed filet and take it home to clean and portion. The quality of the meat is always good and because they are always super busy, it's always fresh. Ricky's is always busy, but they are very well organized. Steps to your successful Ricky's experience: 1. Go in, take a ticket and wait for your turn. Usually this doesn't take more than 10 minutes. 2. Tell the butcher what you'd like, and be nice b/c then they'll get you the meat that was just cut fresh! Also, if you want an extra thick cut pork chop or something, they will do special cuts. I got 10 lbs of churassco and he even asked me if I wanted him to clean it for me! And the place was packed! So the service here is very good. 3. So after they bag your meat, he'll give you a piece of paper. 4. Pick up anything else you need and stand in line to pay. 5. Pay w cash or c.c. and the cashier will give you a reciept. 6. Then go outside, make a sharp right to the side of the building and wait for your cart of meat. 7. A guy will bring it to your car for you in a box, esp. if it's a lot or heavy. A $2 tip is nice to have handy for this. 8. Congratulations, you just shopped at Ricky's the best butcher in Miami! And don't forget the sea salt! read more

While Ricky's isn't probably the most convenient place in the world to shop, you have to give it a lot of props. First of all it's a full service butcher shop. There just aren't very many of these in Miami. Second, there's an excellent selection of meats. I saw one review that said that this was the place to go for a Uruguayan or South American barbecue and not the American variety, I disagree. The selection here is so varied you can go for both. I had a bbq last week and needed a whole packer's brisket to smoke, and Ricky's was the only place in town that had it for me. And get this. They have it every day. The prices at Ricky's are great and the meat is of good quality. You're not going to find grass fed and prime cuts, but that's not what Ricky's is for. Been going to this location for at least 10 yrs and have always felt like it is a hidden gem for miamians.
