I also think that there are at least two entrances and exits but there could easily be many more hidden away. Across the floors they have cosmetics and gifts, men and women's fashion and homewear, as well as a cafe, services for weddings, bra fittings and alterations, a travel money centre, a Clarins skin spa and, most importantly to me, a personal shopper service. This is why I go to Debenhams. I'm not good at shopping but they have a free personal shopping service. The personal shoppers aren't on comission, so there's no pressure to buy. You just tell them what you're shopping for (for example a general wardrobe update or a special occasion), and your sizes and colour preferences. They make you a cup of coffee and then wander out into the store to find things for you to try. You try them in your own private changing room and, if you decide you do want to buy something at the end of your session then you skip the queue when you go to pay for it. Sure, the rest is good too (except when you get lost) but this service alone makes Debenhams worth a visit for me.

That being said, I actually really enjoyed having a relaxed wander around Debenhams this week. They were having an exclusive shopping night on Monday so the store was a lot quieter than it would normally be (and they were dishing out the complimentary fizz which is always nice). I think this store must have been done up a bit since last time I visited as it was a lot brighter and more slick than I remember. The beauty and perfume areas are particularly lovely. Some areas of the store seemed understocked or had less of a range than I'd expect - in children's toys there wasn't loads for kids under 1, and there was only one shelf of thick winter tights. On the other hand, there was a massive area for Baker by Ted Baker (kids clothing range) and loads of sheer tights. I'm not quite sure for the reasons behind these decisions, but just keep in mind that you might not be able to find everything you want here. Staff were happy and friendly, even while being subjected to hours of Christmas music. We did nearly get overcharged in one transaction but that's because their sale didn't technically start until the next day, and the sales assistant happily fixed it up without any fuss. Tip: With the 5p bag charge it might be worthwhile asking for their largest bag if you're buying a few items, rather than getting multiple smaller bags. Or bring your own!

I've always had an issue with the clothing here just due to the way that they tag them once you have washed the t-shirt or clothing there will be a big gaping hole from the way they security tag the clothes that makes them look like seconds.

They cover a whole range of clothing needs, from basic t-shirts to sleepwear to night out clothing. There's also a substantial children's section on the same floor as the gents. As you can imagine, being Next, it's usually absolutely mobbed come sale time. The layout in here is great, as it separates the store not only into departments, but into sections within. The men's has a huge collection of smart, professional clothing, including suits, shirts, shoes, and accessories. Similarly, the ladies has some business smarts and lots of dressy tops for nights out. My qualms with Next are twofold. The first is the price. While their stock is good quality, it's a little out of my price range and their prices are often comparable with, for example, Marks and Spencer, who have a better reputation and probably slightly better quality. The other is that it's still just a little bit too old for me. I have no need for business smarts, so it's just not my type of shop in general. If you're in their target audience, though, this is a great place to shop.

I placed an online order with HoF and paid for next-day delivery. I received a confirmation from…read moreEvri that the package was out for delivery, but then I received an update from them one hour before the delivery time slot indicating that they could not deliver the package until the next business day. Four days on, Evri cannot locate the package. Today, I attempted to contact HoF customer service, which is an exercise in frustration. I requested a full refund but have only been refunded the delivery charges. Had I known that HoF uses Evri I would have never placed the order. I certainly would never order from HoF. I honestly can't say whose customer service is worse - HoF's or Evri's. They're both terrible. Unless you enjoy being gaslighted (by both HoF and Evri), I would highly discourage anyone from making an online purchase from HoF.

The first time I used it I had lost a lot of weight and did not know what suited my new figure. I was going to a wedding so went to get an outfit for that. I think if your going to do this you should be open-minded and try everything they bring, this is what I did and I got a beautiful dress that I would never have picked for myself. I have a wedding coming up in December so decided to do it again. They offer services for any type of outfit you need, like going on holiday, new work clothes and they also offer a wardrobe renewal if you fancy a change. I booked online which was quick and simple they ask you a few questions about what your looking for, what you like, colours and your sizes. I was given a 90 minute slot. I headed to the personal shopper area, based near the men's shoes department. I was met by my personal shopper, Jordan. He explained that the normal rooms they use were busy so I was brought to a make shift dressing room in Mr Fraser's old office, which was stunning, apparently not many people get to see in the office. It made the experience even more special. Jordan asked me a few questions and then he headed off to find me some outfits. I sat on the couch and looked at magazines and relaxed. Jordan then arrived with armfulls of dresses. I then began trying them on. There was no pressure to like them, but I tried them all on. Nothing in the first lot suited. So Jordan headed off again. The 2nd last dress I tried on was the one, loved it, and again like my first personal shopper experience it was a dress I would never have picked for myself. I would highly recommend giving this a go, I think you worry that you are going to feel pressured into buying something but it's all very chilled out and fun to get a little pampered.

Most of Govan Cross Shopping Centre had been lying empty, as this had been a Co-op previously. Now them shops have been filling up like a pirate filling his bag full of booty. It's got plenty of good affordable stock, with lots of well known brands at low prices. There's toiletries, toys, domestic stuff, stationary, art materials and food and drinks, now including the alcomaholic kind. I've picked up many items cheaply, from toothpaste, hair dye, artist's canvas' to some grub for lunch. This place is bright and the staff are friendly. It's normally quite busy but they will open up another till if getting a bit mobbed, so never a long queue to be found. If I've needed materials for work, I've always been able to pick exactly what work's needed without spending a fortune. Good deals, good goods, good stuff!

This branch of Home Bargains in Govan wee-wees all over the one in Crow Road I am afraid to…read moresay...My first experience of a HB was the Crow Road shop & yes, I liked their mucho bargainous deals but it didn't totally blow me away...I had heard from my good friend Elizabeth F that Govan shopping centre also had it's own HB & it was a beezer ~ she was right! I don't know why but this shop seems to stock better, nicer & more varied items compared the Partick one. I have only been in this particular one about 3 times but every time I have always found the staff to be very nice, pleasant & helpful. The last couple of times I've been in they've had a member of staff actually helping you pack your bags at the till which is a really nice touch & doesn't feel like you're getting them to go out of their way to assist you. I am often in not long before closing time (after work) and they are always very courteous & polite regarding informing you that their store is closing soon; nae 'Oi! WE'RE SHUTTING!' or a loudspeaker to frighten you out the shop here, thankfully. HB offer a variety of goods from the edible to beauty to kids toys to gardening & household goods - I think of it as a nice (and usually cheaper) alternative to a pound shop or a B&M, although the latter I have never visited but from what I hear it is quite similar to a Home Bargains. Before Christmas I was in search of a reasonably cheap (but not illegal/dangerously cheap!) hot water bottle and couldn't find one anywhere that wasn't either a stupid expensive price or possibly banned in most countries. Step up Home Bargains! I wandered in after work not expecting to find any hot water bottles (hadn't seen any in the Partick branch) & looking for something else completely when ta-da! HB don't disappoint again ~ I found me some brilliant & cute looking (SAFE!) hot water bottles for a great price, I was so chuffed ~ people around me must've thought I don't get out much as I'm sure I did a wee yelp of delight when I seen them...! Oops. Alongside the hot water bottles I also managed to find some cracking Xmas deccos & also some lovely gifts for people too. A very successful shopping trip indeed. If you find yourself in need of household goods or cheap food/drink (they sell alcohol too - some real ales as well) then I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Home Bargains, this one in particular. The Retail industry wonder why people don't shop like they used too? Tech...yes...Gen X sociophobes who can't deal with people in the flesh only over their phones and an unpleasant security guard staring at you as well as really obvious store detectives making you feel like a criminal. Never again and if I were you spend your money somewhere where you aee shown a modicum of respect.

Still, you never know what bargains you might find here, so it's always worth a quick descent on the escalator to have a quick rummage around. Often I leave with nothing, however on this occasion, I was greeted by rack upon rack of woolly winter wear; not something I was in need of. However, a bit of perseverance eventually brought me to a solitary polo shirt that I liked, that happened to be in my size range, and best of all had a very heavy discount. Happy days.

But you know, sometime after the age of 16 I started to appreciate this place for what it is. We all know what Marks and Spencer do; good clothes, great food, annoyingly mesmerising TV adverts and fantastic Christmas gifts, and even if I didn't appreciate it when I was the laughing stock of my Nike Air-sporting chums, its quintessential Britishness is in with the bricks of the UK. What stands out about this particular store, however, is that even now I recognise the same old faces working in the enormous customer service desk from the days of returning unwanted Christmas gift after unwanted Christmas gift. With the city centre of Glasgow changing rapidly, it's reassuring to have a little bit of my childhood sitting there on Argyle Street, even if "check the nick of Paul's trainees!" echos through my head each time I'm in there.
