We went on a Sunday and the parking lot was packed so we had to circle to find a spot. Luckily, there seem to always be people coming AND going so it only took a few minutes. Freshfields Farm is split up into 3 distinct areas - the fresh meat store, the fresh produce store, and the ice cream (and hot dog) window. We decided to head to the meat entrance first. The area is not that big but it is just lots of selections of fresh meat, cheese and butter. The meats seemed to be pretty good prices, slightly below Publix where I normally shop. There was ground beef, turkey, steak, chicken and seafood. Plus some huge cuts of meat like picanha and ribs. If you are going to have a BBQ, this is the place to go. Also, workers were constantly bringing out new packages and some people were waiting for them. I picked up 2 pounds of ground beef and some boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The cashiers were nice and super quick. Then we headed outside and then next door to the produce section. Basically the same as the meat department but filled with produce. There were bins of fresh strawberries when we walked in as well as avocados, a whole section of bananas and plantains, rainbow carrots, and even full cacao pods! I'm guessing they just showcase fresh seasonal produce so for example, while there were fresh plums, I didn't see navel oranges. There was also a fridge case full of squeezed juices and lemonades. And a big section of various types of mushrooms. I got a package of sliced cantaloupe and a big pack of 30 eggs. We checked out the ice cream window, which looked super yummy but because we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we decided we'll come back another time to try it.

The staff members were very friendly, especially the cashier who helped me at the register. Her smile felt so genuine, and it honestly made me want to come back again. I even decided to pick up some peanut butter while I was there. The store was very clean and well organized, which made shopping comfortable and enjoyable. I shop at other grocery stores too, but this place is definitely becoming one of my favorites. You can also bring your own reusable bags, which is a nice bonus. The parking lot can be a little difficult on weekends, but overall I highly recommend this place!

It is not pick yourself. but the stand selling the freshly picked fruit is right next to the trees from which they were picked. It doesn't get better than this authentic Florida experience. The time in the season determines what fruit and type is available. I enjoyed some navel oranges and pink grapefruit in November. There are also some homemade jams for sale made by a neighbor. And I took home my bushell after some nice conversation with the owner.

Our group of about 20 was very warmly greeted by Angie and her husband, and we found out that this beautiful family farm is the 4th generation of Mango farmers! Angie's family started commercially growing the mangoes in the 1930's and now their acreage is covered with over 40 varieties of beautifully cared for mango trees, including some varieties that are propriety to them, including one that is purple! (it is called "The Royal Purple"). Also the majority of the mango varieties this farm grows, has little to no-fiber, which means more juicy and succulent fruit to enjoy. Btw, cool fun fact - The mango is a member of the cashew family! Who woulda thunk it? It was lovely walking around the farm, and getting a lesson in grafting mango trees. At the end of our tour, we got a little goodie bag of mangoes and that was super cool. I would highly suggest coming out here to check out this amazing family farm.Only one critical thing: MAKE SURE TO CALL THEM FOR THEIR OPEN HOURS!! A fellow patron informed me that their baby back ribs and key lime pie were amazing. So naturally, I had to order the ribs for my lunch. I also ordered the brisket sandwich with smoked potatoes and collard greens. The meats were very flavorful and tender. The collards were salty and delicious. I think my favorite would have to be the smoked potatoes. I'm not sure how they do it but they have a wonderfully infused smoky flavor. I saw the rave about it on IG and thought I would give it a go. I was not impressed with the food…read morewhen we brought it back. We got the macaroni salad and it had a weird metallic taste to it ( my husband and had to throw it out since it left a bad taste in our tongue). It look good and fresh but the tase was off in it. I'm not going to even write about our subs that we got ( let's just leave it there.) for what we paid we should have just gone to Publix to get their subs instead. Sorry to say but I won't be coming back to this place.
