We are the parents of the groom so I will speak to what I know personally. The wedding and flowers were exactly what the bride was dreaming of. The venue was beautiful and the flowers were gorgeous. My issue is that we hosted the rehearsal dinner at Mathews Manor also, with around 40 guests. We had a buffet. Within minutes after they told us the buffet was ready we went to get food. I was the third one in line and my food was cold, NOT warm, it was cold. And the chicken was a strange texture, a little wiggly like it wasn't cooked all the way through. The bride said hers was pink inside and she was not going to eat it because she didn't want to get sick. Several other people wouldn't eat it because they believed it wasn't cooked through either. I ate mine but it wasn't good and I was nervous about getting sick. My husband realized that the burners under the food had never been lit and told the staff, who did light them but everyone had already gotten their food so it didn't really matter. Additional issues...they forgot to serve the coffee we ordered beforehand and my husband was never served a dessert. When I sent an email two days later about the chicken and cold food the chef called to tell me that what I was claiming was impossible, that the food came right out of the warmers and was hot. He was mad at me for even suggesting it. When I asked him if he was calling me a liar he said no but that the food was not cold. And he heard the Bride's father say the food was delicious so therefore it was (no matter that I could have fed him dirty socks and he would have been nice enough to say the same thing anyway). The wedding day I thought surely the food would be better. The head table was served a plated meal. My food was cold again...straight out of the kitchen. Honestly! Cold food after spending so much money??? The venue was beautiful (although it could use a rest coat of paint in some places), the flowers were stunning but the food was wildly disappointing! And the chef was never apologetic at all, basically just called me a liar. I thought maybe they would take 10% off of the food itself...NOPE! Nothing. Thankfully, I never have to eat there again! If you don't have another choice or you have already booked them, the best items are the marinated pork tenderloin for the rehearsal dinner. It was actually delicious though not warm. Avoid the clumpy rice and the flavorless, too-pink lemon pepper chicken. read more

There are no finer people in this business than the Mathews. I have known this family for 19 years and have enjoyed watching their business grow. Mathews Manor has several different event settings, depending on your needs and wants. They have a large event room with a large platform for weddings, they have a poolside area for receptions or dances, they have a barn they can use for a more quaint event. Every time I've been or hosted an event here, I've walked away pleased with their quality, their people skills, and their great service. I have personally used them five times for an annual fundraiser and I'm already on the books for two more this year. Every time, Trey and his staff go out of their way to make our event great. I could not ask for an easier experience. I wholeheartedly endorse Mathews Manor and would strongly recommend them for your future wedding or event. read more

I have to say that they have multiple beautiful wedding settings. However, they do nothing to direct guests to the correct wedding setting for the correct wedding. During my visit. both myself and many, many other wedding guests saw the sign for Mathews manor and pulled in, only to observe a wedding rehearsal and not the wedding we were there to witness. There were no signs, whiteboard, or list of events with locations listed by the Mathews Manor sign or in the building immediately next to it or on the website that indicated where we should go. It turned out that the wedding we were to attend was a half a mile down the road. No signage or staff were available to help us find it, so we were on the verge of being late and we got poor quality seats, even though we arrived at the original location 45 minutes early. I have to say that signage is the main issue with this business, and they need to make sure they either have signs or staff direct visitors to the correct location. Personally, I am embarrassed on bargaining on a wedding rehearsal at the location with the Mathews Manor sign. I think they could do better. read more

Last night my daughter was married at Mathews Manor. It was absolutely beautiful! My son and daughter-in-law were married in Grace Hall many years ago. Our daughter chose Micah's Meadow and it was so beautiful, especially after it got dark. They have multiple places on the grounds to have a ceremony and/or reception. Rebecca's Garden is a gazebo outside, Grace Hall is more like a larger chapel setting, and Micah's Meadow with several outdoor places and an elegant/rustic building for wedding or reception. To avoid confusion on invitation put Grace Hall at Mathews Manor or Micah's Meadow at Mathews Manor as venue because there can be other events going on the same day. Mathews Manor is an all inclusive venue. They handle decorating, flowers, food, wedding coordinator, etc. You must get your own photographer and speciality car, videographer, band etc. As always the food was delicious. We have eaten at Mathews Manor many times. They used to be open for Sunday lunch. As much as you will pay for food at your wedding, I recommend getting a sample plate a few months before to try. We did chose not to have a couple of things we thought sounded good and ended up not liking on our sampler consultation so we would have the best for reception. Can't really say what was most popular because every one had a different favorite. The sliced tenderloin of beef and turkey on rolls were mine. We have had many compliments on the spinach artichoke dip and salad bar, too. My daughter-in-law chose the almond cake for her wedding but my daughter liked the vanilla bean (personally I like the almond) but vanilla bean was excellent. Remember when you sample, it is a cupcake. The real cake will be so moist and much better than cupcake. Finally the flowers and decorations were gorgeous! Bring pictures from Pinterest or their website of things you like-they do the rest! We could not have been more please with everything! We used Eric and Jamie Photography, loved them! Special thanks to Brittany(you worked so patiently with my indecisive daughter), Tammy and Debbie-so good working with y'all again, and Whitney our wedding coordinator- you were the best! All those little nieces and nephews and only a couple of problems. Last but certainly not least all the behind the scenes people cooking, decorating, providing everything we didn't realize we needed until last minute. Everyone was great! I recently got married at Micah's Meadow venue at Mathews Manor. It was absolutely everything my husband and I dreamed of for our day! The MM team was so professional and sweet and worked so hard to get every bit of our wedding vision perfect! The CAKE was the best we've ever had and everyone has been talking about it ever since. The food was delicious and my flowers were absolutely gorgeous!! They made planning the wedding so easy and smooth and worked within my budget perfectly! The venue gives you the opportunity to have an "oustdoor" wedding and still have a beautiful indoor space, so no tents needed! All of our guests keep bragging on how gorgeous the wedding was over 3 months later. Tammy, Brittney and Whitney are so sweet and they truly care about every detail envisioned for the day. Rushed out of the reception before everyone had even got to go through!!!!! HATE THIS PLACE! Not enough food and then told they only had it until a certain time.. THIS was their fault. IT was unorganized. Also, several things were really dirty.. when we got there.. not after. So, please for the money you pay GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If they do not care to have it clean then something is wrong.. It COULD BE a good venue. Sadly, IT IS NOT. I'm not sure what was suppose to be at the reception. It was gone. Beautiful venue and wonderful wedding planner. We paid $46.95 per guest for food, including the cake. They ran out of food! They even ran out of milk for the coffee. We paid for 110 guests and between 90-100 people were in attendance. The rude owner said that our guests ate too much. I would not want others to feel the embarrassment we felt knowing there were guests who had little to eat. I would be cautious spending a great deal of money on food at Mathew's Manor. Daughter had wedding there. Wouldn't recommend for numerous reasons. Just a few. Filthy/spots and stained dining chairs which we paid extra for, sent video in (over 3 weeks prior to be reviewed) to be played on the big screen during reception and before wedding. Bride Was told an hour before wedding that they hadn't even tried it and now it wouldn't work. Well too late for us to bring another, so no video. Paid for hot chocolate and donut holes to be served outside between the wedding/reception. One small container of hot chocolate ( ran out should have been for 140 people) paid $140.00 for 140 donut holes we seen the packaging it was boxed Entemmens donut holes. I hand wrote and mailed a letter and received no response for these and numerous other complaints to which I received no response. I wasn't looking for any reimbursement since it was done and over but a response should have happened after the amount of money we spent there. Oh also not enough food or servers. Servers left the area and didn't return. HUGE disappoint in this place. Like I said I could go on and on. Zero satisfaction with this place. read more
