Of course pole isn't just dance/sport/fitness, it's a community-based, empowering experience that brings joy and positivity into your life and of course it's also sexy as hell. Luscious subscribes to this inclusive philosophy whole-heartedly and you feel it every time you take a class there and then the end result after you do the work is so sexy and empowering! This studio is truly awesome. Shout out to the crazy talented instructor Elizabeth, definitely take her classes if you can. It goes without saying that she is an incredible dancer but she is also patient and kind. I'm an cardio dance instructor and this was my first pole class, I woke up sore! Elizabeth is a straight up pole scientist, dropping knowledge at every turn and breaking down moves analytically so we can understand the separate pieces that lead to the final flow. You really have to experience her class physically to understand what a talented and intelligent teacher she is but I'm trying to give an idea. There's plenty of repetition and explaining so the moves can really get into your body. So basically if pole was offered as part of a master's program in university Elizabeth would be your professor! If it's your first time doing pole I suggest doing the tricky tricks class first. The studio itself is clean, spacious and beautiful. This place embodies the "come as you are" attitude that makes fitness seem less daunting. "SpinDolls" come in all shapes, sizes, colors and from all walks of life. But even with all the differences, you always feel comfortable and supported. No one is judging you, but rather encouraing you on. I love knowing that I am working out with other woman who are not there to show off but to get in shape while having fun. We laugh, A LOT. Eli, the owner, has the most infectious energy I have encountered in a while. She is go, go, go all the time and always fun and friendly. She is the type of person that you look at and say "I want to be her friend!!!" She lost tons of weight herself, so she knows the struggle. Now, you are probably not reading this review to hear so much about what a great time we have (which we do) but to know if this is going to get your butt in shape. The answer is a resounding YES! Eli offers tons of different classes: Pole fitness, boot camps, Pole tricks, Zumba, twerking, Kangoo, etc. There is something for everyone. They are challenging, heart racing, sweat inducing, "make-it-all-hurt" and ultimately they will make you sore in such a fantastic way. The biggest change I have noticed in the past month is in my leg muscles and upper body strength. Still have ways to go, but I know that I will enjoy the journey.
