He plays club hockey which is a lot of fun, and joined a fraternity -- the frats are fun and low key, not the toxic male environment as it can be at some schools. The campus is beautiful. Equally as nice as most small liberal arts colleges. The dorms are no worse than at most schools. I think most important of all, it's really a positive and supportive environment, academically intense but not competitive in an unhealthy way. If you're considering schools like Bucknell or Lehigh or Lafayette, DEFINITELY consider F&M. (And they gave us some generous financial merit aid compared to Bucknell!)

Two in-person interviews Part-time Assistant Director Job…read moreOffer and Acceptance Lamplight Rescinded Job Offer & Offered Tutor Job at 66% the pay Accepted Part-time Tutoring Job Asked to do Assistant Director Level Work during Family Medical Emergency, Resigned Never Paid for my Hours Lamplight brought me in for two separate interviews for Assistant Center Director. This was a part-time role. The job description included curriculum development and creating student tutoring projects, along with a pay range of $15 - $19 / hour. I interviewed and thought it was a pleasant place, albeit rather disorganized (hence the position opening). I found a job posting on Indeed and applied to Lamplight's email directly with a resume and cover letter. I was invited for two separate in-person interviews. After these, I received an offer for the position, which I accepted. The following week, Lamplight rescinded their offer stating: "I enjoyed meeting with you and definitely think there may be an opportunity to work together, but due to the time constraints and that I understand you were looking for a full-time position with benefits, I have decided to go in a different direction regarding the part-time position of Assistant Director." (Nov. 7, 2017) Needing additional work, I asked if I could work as a tutor. I received and accepted an offer as a tutor, for $12 / hour. However, to date, April 17, 2018, I have never yet been paid for my time working here. When there are no students, tutors are paid an Admin wage of $10. While working under the Admin wage, Lamplight asked me to work on items that were originally included in the Assistant Center Director position. I think this place may have a good heart, so I did finish my hours doing Assistant Director work (offered, rescinded, pay range up to $19) for $10 / hour. Lamplight manager showed up late twice, and in addition to the items noted above, I was losing hope in the center. When a family member had major back surgery and needed family to be around after hospital discharge, I resigned. To date, I have not received any payment for my hours here. I have emailed Lamplight about this on all of the following dates: January 29, 8:41am (received response same day saying sending check) March 13, 8:45pm (NO response) April 14, 10:19am (NO response) I have also walked-in in the last two weeks and spoken with the Manager. Lastly, tutors seem great and the place has heart. I am not here to complain but to warn.
