I was…read morethrilled to find a place I thought aligned to my beliefs for child development, but it ultimately fell short. The director, Amanda, is unresponsive and dismissive, which sets the tone for the entire operation. Communication is inconsistent, and the operation is disorganized. The handbook lacks clarity. Policies contradict each other, and important information is often passed by "word of mouth." I liked most of the teachers; they genuinely cared and kept my son safe. However, the constant turnover made it difficult to establish a stable environment. My son had three different lead teachers in just five months. Safety concerns and inconsistencies. It was revealed to me, quietly of course, that there had been no fire drills during my son's time there. The hours changed from 7:30-6 to 9-4 unless paying extra. I also think there were time that the ratio wasn't correct. While I appreciate the efforts of some staff members, the leadership and organization issues make Green Space a place to avoid. I wasted time, money, and peace of mind. If you value stability and clear communication, look elsewhere. The Texas licensing page says that they provide snacks and the handbook says that they provide snacks. Apparently that's only the toddler class and older. And my final complaint, I sent an email to the owner at the end of October, three months after my child had started there, expressing all of my concerns and feedback. She never responded. Now that I have experienced a different daycare, one right across the street, I see how much Green Space was lacking.

Parent groups try to make families feel welcome. My biggest complaint is their program for kids with learning issues. There is an additional $4500 charge for a learning program, which is a testing center & the same study hall everyone else gets for free. There are so many kids in that class that need help, it is difficult to get assistance. There is little parent contact when there are academic issues. There are O accommodations, which we found out the day before school started. It is egregious to allow anyone in for $4500 and then leave them to sink or swim. As a private school with a "dedicated program" they have an opportunity to help kids with learning issues, but we were made to feel like a bother. They could really make a difference if they would put some additional measures in place & hire teachers that cared.

The director of the daycare is by far the friendliest person I've ever met. Brianna, Misty, and Shabana take care of our daughter very well. They do art projects with her. The staff here provides updates to our daughters progress every day. They use the precious status app which really helps us see how our daughter is doing throughout the day. This is the first time we've ever put our kids in daycare and I would pick this daycare again if we were to have another child. If we stay in this area I can guarantee that our daughter will go to the day care

There are plenty of kids here who deserve a better education from respectable staff. And I​ state firmly the staff here does maintain true respect and responsibility. The glamor is only skin deep. A polite smile. I believe some staff deserve to be legally held accountable. Luckily the poor kids at the office cover all that up. If only most of the money didnt go into a poor building that leans. If only the staff wneren't needing strong words that are not used very often. I find it grotesque to even think of. Poor leadership affects all of our governments and neighborhoods. My grandson Aiden, graduated from Schelastic this year, 2025!!…read more He started going because he was being bullied and harassed at the school he was in. The school couldnt do anything about it. Poor guy, he was so depressed. All of that changed when he started going to Schelastic Academy. What a positive, safe environment it was for him. He worked hard, he persevere and grew into a wonderful young man. This school works with the kids so they feel loved and accepted. And their education programs thru the computer is self paced, but they do need to keep on top of their studies. I have enjoyed and love this school for my grandson. It will be a wonderful school to watch your child grow and achieve and grasp everything they can through Schelastic Academy.

While the school has seen several administrative changes, including a very difficult period under a previous director, we stayed because of the incredible teaching staff. Unfortunately, the school recently lost Ms. Shelina, an 11-year veteran and the only fully Montessori-certified teacher on staff. To see a teacher of her caliber and dedication pushed out--seemingly due to administrative interference with her classroom expertise--is heartbreaking. Furthermore, the physical environment has declined; classrooms have become overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult for children to work independently as the Montessori method intends. Until there is stability in staffing and a return to true Montessori standards, I find it difficult to recommend this school to new families.
