We have been part of the Montessori at the Courtyard community for a long time, but we are deeply concerned by the current direction of the school. While the school has seen several administrative changes, including a very difficult period under a previous director, we stayed because of the incredible teaching staff. Unfortunately, the school recently lost Ms. Shelina, an 11-year veteran and the only fully Montessori-certified teacher on staff. To see a teacher of her caliber and dedication pushed out--seemingly due to administrative interference with her classroom expertise--is heartbreaking. Furthermore, the physical environment has declined; classrooms have become overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult for children to work independently as the Montessori method intends. Until there is stability in staffing and a return to true Montessori standards, I find it difficult to recommend this school to new families. read more

Since joining in January 2023, we've noticed some ongoing transitions in staffing. However, during our time with the school we can share that Ms. Shelina was an absolute phenomenal educator for both of our girls. Her understanding of our eldest daughter and her need to have structure yet space to learn and how she was able to explain that to us was truly exceptional. And her dedication to creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment was truly remarkable for our youngest daughter. She consistently went above and beyond sparking a genuine love for our girls that had them wanting to share what they learned that day. Ms. Shelina's commitment to the students and the school was always evident, and her departure will be a significant loss for both the school and students as they would have would have benefited from her guidance and patience in the future. read more

Edited: I initially gave this a 5 star review because we truly were infatuated by the care our infant received through the infant program. All the teachers we loved have been run off. We are expecting a 2nd and not using this daycare. Once our son moved up to the toddler classroom things really took a turn for the worst. Our son received I believe 6 bites in a 10 day period. We were not informed of half of them and found them during bath time. The school management didn't seem to have a plan on how to prevent the bites that appeared to be coming from the same kid until we had to formally request a room change which they seemed flustered by. We also had an incident where based off the school activity report they provide through their app. Our son had his last diaper change at 1130AM, he was picked up before 5PM. We got home and he had a dirty diaper that was literally stuck to him and caused a terrible diaper rash. We messaged them through the app as the activity log is the only way for us to see when something takes place. They wouldn't take any responsibility, stated our son was hard to change at roughly 19 months old. Then tried to say they just got busy and failed to log the changes he had. They tried to state he was changed at 5, but he was picked up before 5. The staff avoided having any conversation about this in person and failed to really take any responsibility for their neglect and tried to blame a 19 month old for being hard to change. We have since removed our son from this facility as the infant teachers we have all really loved have been run off by the new director. They seem to have staffing issues over the last month we received multiple messages stating that they needed parents to volunteer to pick up kids by 3 or they would have to close because they wouldn't have the staff to stay in state compliance. They hired a new toddler lead that was there for 2 weeks before she was run off and communication was never provided to parents. The biting had slowed down once we moved rooms, but still happened a time or two before kids were moved to the correct room. We paid our supply fee and registration fee for the next school period on a Friday then on following Monday the diaper incident happened. We immediately started touring new daycares gave our 30 day notice and asked about a refund as we wouldn't have paid those fees had this happed a day earlier and our request was ignored. Multiple kids that had older siblings go through this daycare have been pulled since the change in directors. read more

The school handed me a paper for children with disabilities. My child has no disability. They wanted to get an extra money from the state for her and as soon as I told them, she has no disabilities and that there's nothing wrong with her. They decided to start writing her up every single day they wrote her up three times charged me $1210 and then immediately Kicked her out. They called me almost every day saying a teacher grabbed her and tried to pull her places and she started freaking out. Not only that but my child came home every day crying that a child named Noah is hitting her. This is the worst school. She went to two other schools before this in a different city and had no issues. She's been in school for five years and I'm telling you not a single issue from the other schools but this one magically has tons of issues as soon as I told them no I'm not gonna sign her up for disability when she's not disabled. The front desk is incompetent and rude. The reviews are not lying when they say that the school is rude, disorganized, and very unsanitary. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else because the school is not it. Also,the report said they will contact me to discuss they never did I just showed up and her code wouldn't work! All I was told was check my email to which I found the attached email. Beware... you will have to leave work multiple times if your kid cries and may even get kicked out without any notice or discussion as well as charged. read more

I previously informed her teacher that my daughter had been choked and hit multiple times(by other kids), and explicitly asked that these behaviors be documented and that I be notified if they occurred again. Despite this, I was not informed when a subsequent incident occurred, which directly contradicts the spirit of transparent communication expected by both parents and licensing guidelines. When I brought it to the teachers attention I was responded with a message from the school saying I broke code of conduct by speaking to another student which did NOT occur. I spoke to my own child privately by the door of the classroom and told her to play with a child nearby. Instead of taking accountability for missed documentation or communication, the message felt defensive and misdirected. The message framed me as violating policy for "addressing another student," which did not occur. The message said to contact management with problems with your child and another student to be handled "professionally" and unfortunately there is never any management in the front so I spoke to the only adult present. If the intent is to prevent parents from entering the classroom directly, then clear protocols--such as escorting parents to the door--should be implemented, rather than blaming parents for unawareness of a rule that has never been an issue before. Who is going to protect my child if it is not me? Parents will not feel comfortable sending their child to a school who does not value safety. How can you value one students safety but not the student who is getting continuously chocked and punched in the stomach daily. This daycare is really disappointing and I will be leaving reviews where I can so parents will make their own decision on if they think this school will value their child's safety. I believe the way this management sent out a message at 9:30-10 pm on a Friday being defensive about the issue I brought up was extremely unprofessional. I will never bring my child here again. As I read through the reviews I see this is not the first time something like this has occurred with another child who was hit multiple times and the parents were never notified and when the parents brought it to the schools attention they did not take accountability. Montessori at the Courtyard is SPECTACULAR from safety to learning. I always felt my little boy and baby girl were happy, healthy, safe, and LOVED. The heart and soul of this center is all about these teachers! You will not find a better team. The curriculum is well established and organized. Ms. Yasmin captivated our hearts from the start with teaching our son motor skills, potty training, and mastering learning goals. For 20 years, Ms. Michalea has provided the school with healthy lunches and sacks for the children. There is no doubt that Ms. Shelina & Ms. Katty have equipped our son well for kindergarten next year. The loving team of teachers watching over our sweet baby girl have earned my respect, love, and trust. There is nothing I wouldn't do for them! We are so fortunate to have Ms. Marianette leading and guiding the school as a well-seasoned manager who has a heart for families. I can't say enough how much we love ALL of these teachers. The entire staff treats him like their own, and it brings such peace of mind knowing he's so well loved and cared for. My daughter and son went to this school for 3 years, and I really wish I would have placed them in a different school. Unfortunately, the director Amanda was such a horrible person to deal with that I wince every time I drive by the school. I could go on and on about the unprofessional behavior. The fact that a teacher shook my daughter, or that my son's tooth was chipped by the other children that were hitting and throwing rocks at him. The fact that Amanda said that my son was "talking back" when he said, "I am four and old enough to take care of myself." She then said that he probably acts like that because of my parenting. My son was here for two months before we left. Initially we were getting reports that he was hitting kids after they hit him first. A few weeks pass and they complained now he was hitting for no reason. He was the youngest in the classroom, as they group kids 3-6 years old together and he started the Monday after he turned three. Teachers complained daily about behavioral issues he simply did not have before coming to this school. We are sadly disappointed as the tour was great, and I selected this school after touring several others. I had him at a school prior that was in Las Colinas and I wanted to move him closer to where we live. He loved his previous school, and for example never received an incident report in the time he was there. At this school he received three in two months. That to me is a huge indicator. What makes me most upset with the school is instead of taking ownership that the better classroom management was needed, that it was simply my sons problem which couldn't be further from the truth. I am not one to complain but I am so disappointed, and would not want any other parent to experience this, or any parents currently attending to buy the lie that their child is the problem and not the environment. read more

Updated to say that our son has moved on to elementary school, for which he was well prepared (he's very ahead with his reading and math). Now his baby brother is attending and we are very happy, still, with the care. He is only 14 months old, but we are excited for his experience to come with Montessori at the Courtyard. read more

My son attends here and he absolutely loves it. We had him at another school but there were many issue with him grtting hurt and the teachers not watching to help keep him safe. He has grown and developed so much since putting him here. The staff are always super friendly and he loves his teachers ms miranda and ms alyssa. He always feels so welcomed when he walks in and loves their pet bunny. All the amazing staff at the front make us feel warm and welcomed when we enter the building. Ms Anne Kathrin the director and Ms Sammi and Ms Ronda are so friendly and cheerful . Highly recomend this school and all their loving staff. They really help teach and grow the vhildren and i cannot wait for my son to move up to the next class and make even more friends. read more

Big shout out to Amanda the director who took us in and made us feel at home as we were scrambling to find a good place for Ethan. She is very accommodating, responsive and great with kids. My son was in the toddler program and her teachers Mika, Andi and Celeste are amazing. They catered to my son's interests as well as helped him expand his love for learning. They were very responsive to our goals for Ethan and let us know of any updates on how Ethan is doing. They are all so easy to work with and they truly have an invested interested in your child! I cannot say enough great things about this school. My son attended for about a year before we moved and leaving this school has been by far the hardest part of our move. My 4 year old constantly tells me how much he misses everyone. Mrs. Seema treats every child as her own and does her very best to adapt lessons to every child. Mrs. Amanda really makes this school feel like a community. I liked the observation rooms so I could peak in on him without him knowing. Children were always playing or learning when I picked him up, never stuck in front of a tv like other schools. I would recommend this school to anyone, you get what you pay for. read more

My daughter has attended this school since she was a toddler-she has now started her Kindergarten year at Montessori at the Courtyard! This school makes us feel like a part of the family. Everybody from the cook, to the front desk make my daughter feel important and they are genuinely happy to see her each day. I am so excited for her Kindergarten year with Ms. Seema and I know she will excel when she starts public school next year. She has learned so much during her time in the Primary classroom and I cannot wait to see what this year brings! I wish they had an Elementary program, because we would stay if we could :) read more

My children (now 2 and 4) have been going to Montessori at the Courtyard for a little over a year and half now. I have been so impressed with their learning and growth since they started attending. My four year old is starting to read and my 2 year old knows all of his colors, ABCs, and numbers, which I credit to the teachers. Ms. Anne-Kathrin, the Director, and Ms. Sammi, the Assistant Director, are easy to communicate with and have always taken any of my questions or concerns seriously, even though they were usually minor compared to the scope of their jobs. The teachers, Ms. Angela, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Alyssa, to name a few, really do care about the kids and have been able to make learning fun. I feel like this school has an excellent balance of education and fun for this age and my kids enjoy their time at school while also learning a ton. Also, I love that this school's menu offers a wide, variety of balanced meals and doesn't have the standard rotation of chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and hamburgers, etc. that I saw when touring other schools. I am so glad to have found such a great Montessori program in the Bedford area. In the short time my 2 year old has been attending, the results have been remarkable. She is excited to get up every morning and go to school, During our evening playtime she likes to teach me what she learned during the day. We have only been here less than a month, but it is a whole world of difference from our last school! It is so clean and the teachers and staff are incredibly warm, friendly and caring! In less than a month, my children have already learned so much and they have matured tremendously. Amanda and Alisha always take the time to say hello and seem genuinely happy to see you. I just wanted to update my review to let everyone know that my daughter and I still love this school / daycare. My daughter is now 2 years old, and she adores Miss Rachel and Miss Andi. She comes home with a new art project almost every day. We've had a few incident reports here and there - some things are unavoidable with kids in groups, like one time another child bit my daughter, and several times she's scratched herself - but these few incidents were always properly documented. The staff members are excellent about telling us what happened and what's going on with our child every day. Our kiddo gets excited to go see Miss Rachel and her friends in the morning. Her vocabulary is outstanding for a child her age, and she is always eager to be a helper. There are lots of fun activities, too... Just this week, a petting zoo visited, and my daughter came home talking about petting a pig, a goat, and a chicken! LOL Anyway, I'd still highly recommend this school. It is well run with teachers who really do care about the children, and that makes all the difference. read more
