Located in the new HUE hotel. They have such friendly staff with a beautiful design. the place has the right style and vibe but no one knows it's here since I had to create the yelp page for it! It's decor has been the nicest restaurant I've seen so far on the island. It has a rustic yet modern vibe going on. Reclaimed wood matched with cast iron yet super clean. It was like in a high end restaurant in the states. Unfortunately, I was too into the food(breakfast) that I wasn't able to snap too many photos. read more

Matiz no longer exists, but the Hue Hotel restaurant still serves some tapas. The gambas ajillo were good.

POSITIVE: 1. Beautiful and classy interior. 2. Cozy ambiance. 3. Friendly and helpful staff. 4. The food is easily 5-star worthy. 5. Reasonable price. 6. The restaurant itself is clean and you can tell the napkins are freshly washed. I could have easily given them a 5-star rating. But here's why it's only 4. NEGATIVE: 1. The comfort room of the restaurant is the same CR in the Hue Hotel lobby and it stinks! You can smell it from the door. They sprayed strong perfume to try to mask the smell but it is very strong. 2. They didn't give the exact change. They gave us 4 cents short and they didn't even tell us. We now have 1 cent coins because of REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10909 No Shortchanging Act of 2016 so we have no excuse of not giving exact amount. read more
