My friend and I went here during our stay in Puerto Princesa. This art cafe was highly recommend to us by a friend who lived in Palawan at the time. Among all the restaurants in the "mini mall", Gypsy's Lair Art Cafe stands out because of its unique architectural design; the artsy and bright decor is inviting and interesting. :)
The cafe is a bit off from the main road in Puerto Princesa. So, it is quite far from the other well-known restaurants. But, it is worth going to. Once you enter the place, you'll see many quirky artworks all over the walls, stairs...everywhere! Although my friend and I only stayed for dinner and a few drinks, this would be a good place to chill out either alone or with friends.
The food did not disappointment. They have a variety of food to choose from. So, we asked the waiter for his recommendations. We tried their best-seller, the Ribs, which were very tender and the serving was enough for 2 people. Other dishes we tried were the Chicken Burrito (served fresh with salsa verde), Pin-Thai (the pinoy version of Pad Thai) and Tom Yum Soup (just the right amount of spicyness and sweetness, I finished that all by myself). Try their Pandan shake and Guyabano shake! Great way to quench your thirst on a hot day. :)
Overall, this is really a great place to dine and watch the minutes go by. Nice upbeat music, good menu options and quick service are the highlights. It's a cozy place and one of the places you must visit in Puerto Princesa! :) read more
