Deciding to take a break from all the French food we'd been enjoying, we found this Japanese restaurant. Studying their menu, we were greeted by a nice host who said "it will be delicious". The place seemed ok. Not busy. The menu had all the usual Japanese items. I ordered the chirashi, and all seemed well until our food was served. My daughter noticed a cockroach crawling on my chirashi bowl and when I pointed it out, our server cupped the bowl to keep it from jumping off, and quickly took it away. They changed the order (it seemed different). Our family is pretty chill, and I'm not one to make a scene, but we were definitely disturbed so I had to share this experience. I guess I was too stupidly polite and decided to give them a chance. The food was average, and our server seemed apologetic, but in the end there were no reparations from them at all. Not even a real apology from the kitchen. Maybe it was an isolated incident, but being in a food mecca such as Paris, it was a jarring experience to see a cockroach crawling all over my order. Hopefully they'll clean up. read more
