He was able to make his own arrangements of the three songs we wanted for the ceremony itself and we were most impressed with the end result as well as the speed with which he was able to compose and memorize the arrangements. He also provided half an hour of background music for the period during which our guests were arriving and mingling. Matt was my 9-year-old son's guitar instructor for about 6 months. I can't imagine Matt having a more challenging student - my son has a learning disability, problems with fine motor control, and no real musical ability. But he's obsessed with the electric guitar and wanted to learn - so we happily obliged. With my husband and I, Matt was a tremendous resource in helping us choose the right guitar, books, and other equipment. I have been taking guitar lessons from Matt for about a month and a half now. I have no background in music and my first lesson with Matt was close to being the first time I picked up a guitar. While I'm not quite laying down cool licks yet, I have grown comfortable with steps needed to get there. Matt is a great teacher and very patient. Having Matt play during our wedding ceremony was the icing on the cake for us. After trying out a few teachers in town I lucked out on Matt. Been taking lessons with him for about 6 months. I think I have improved more in the last few months than I had in the past 10 years of putting around by myself with a few intermittent teachers. I took a few lessons with various guitar instructs in town before settling on Matt.
