Prior to stopping here, we had made the mistake of going to a nearby furniture store where a barracuda immediately swept in for the kill. Sadly, he was sooo new, that he was unable to answer any of our questions. We only stopped by this store to get a little [and better] information about the different mattresses available. However, 20 minutes later we walked out with a new mattress! And the difference was "Bill". Holy Moly, what a joy it was to find a knowledgeable and friendly salesperson. He started by asking a couple of questions; and listened to us - then pointed us in the right direction. Didn't take us long to make our choice. Deshaun was very knowledgeable about the mattresses he showed us and both my fiancé and I were surprised he had only been working there for a couple weeks. He took us through a quick test to see what kind of mattress fit for us, and the mattress we ended up with was one of the 5 we tried. Tyler and Brandon were amazing. The service from the moment that we walked in the door to the second that we left, we received exceptional attention and care. My husband and I purchased a sleep number and I have not slept during the entire month that we've had it and after trying only three beds, Tyler matched us with the perfect mattress to replace our sleep number with. Brandon was a great help in assisting because he, too, had the same experience as us. The new technology available made mattress shopping so much easier because by laying on the computer operated bed allowed the system to detect which mattresses I'm the store worked best for us-- and the first one we tried happened to be the one we got. read more

Recently purchased a mattress from this location. I'm still on the fence because it's still new. So found out that when you purchase this mattress per their advertisement you get a free box spring. We called back to inquire and we were told no. If you didn't say you wanted it, it would not be offered. Why wouldn't you not say, this is what comes with the purchase of this product and give your customer that option? That's not good customer service. I'm sure if it was for the purchase of additional products we would have been told, because you would have to pay more. read more

As mentioned in other reviews, these stores use commission salesmen who employ the tactic "I can only give you the deal I presented if you purchase the mattress TONIGHT". When I arrived at the store I told the salesman (who smelled of cigarette smoke) that I had just started researching beds and I was just there for information. He did the bed match and after my wife and I tried some beds he gave me a price on the one we were interested in. Then I got the "this deal is only good tonight". Once I made it clear to the salesmen (again) that I was not purchasing a mattress tonight he turned around and walked away and totally disengaged. It was clear that he no longer had any interest in speaking to us. I went in for a mattress and ended up with a used car salesman. If I do buy a mattress from Mattress Warehouse, it will not be from this location. read more

To update, I finally got Mattress Warehouse to agree to refund the mattress and delivery, but not pay for the electronics. (That was a lot less expensive than the mattress, though, and supposedly they'll open a claim now.) I had to send ten emails and leave this review here and one on Google (as well as my wife's review) before they would even offer to let us make a new "comfort exchange." I had to reference Maryland law a lot before they would even make that offer. I directly told them I would sue and discussed Maryland law even more before they finally offered the refund. I was told multiple times that they just wouldn't do a refund until they finally offered a refund. read more

I ordered a mattress for my mother last Saturday. She's going to have knee replacement surgery, and came to me with several complaints about her current mattress. Springs are starting to emerge from the mattress and wires from the sides. It's actually very dangerous. So I took her to the mattress warehouse that weekend. (who knows why she didn't mentions this but 2 weeks before her surgery) Saturday, we had a great experience. Our customer service person was polite, helpful, and caring. He completely took his time, as we wallowed back and forth over mattresses as my mother could not decide. We decided on one, and got the mattress cover deal. We decided on delivery for the next Saturday (3 days before surgery) because my mother did not want to be home alone when the delivery person came. I already needed to take off a veyr busy work week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for pre-op, training, and actual operation appointments at a very far away hospital. SO we decided on Saturday. Come today, Saturday, we are told that our mattress is not in stock. I just received confirmation the night before of our delivery. We couldn't have been informed then? Did they sell our mattress (bought and paid for a week ago) to someone else?? I had missed the call, so I only got a message informing me of this. As I am re-arranging the room for my mom's surgery. Removing sheets, moving the bed, etc. Clearing our narrow stairway of trinkets lest they get damaged . I called the warehouse repeatedly and left messages to no avail. SO now I must wait until 10:00AM for a response. I may edit this review based on that response. More later---- Now 11:00 AM- I have my mom's mattress (helped Delivered by the awesome Malcolm who works at the store). I went to the store personally, the delivery fee was refunded. Kevin was there and he had the mattress in stock. He called Malcolm over. Malcolm took it to my car. Followed us to the house. Took the old mattress down the stairs. Brought the new mattress upstairs and helped me set up a railing and box spring cover on the old box spring. And then put the mattress up. It was done pretty handily thank goodness. No real complaints except for the fact that I had to go through some stress, sweat, and time. And I didn't get all the preparations done cause I was so busy being upset about the non-delivery issue. Great store service, Terrible Warehouse delivery service. They didn't even work with the store supervisor to get them to come buy and take the old mattress. (as was already scheduled in the routes of the drivers last night according to the text sent to me.) He's going to have someone who works with the store do it personally. Horrible service. Bought top of the line temperpedic bed on 10/16/21. Phil stated no problem we have this in the warehouse for your delivery on 10/23/21. I informed him if it didn't show I would cancel the order. Today 10/22/21 I get a call from Brandon stating they sold out (double speak for we sold your bed and replacement didn't arrive in time). We can have it next week... maybe. if temperpedic ships in time.. I told him no bed no deal. I mentioned this numerous times before I walked out on 10/16 to Phil. So I got my receipt and show up at store. Brandon tries to play it off as if it's my fault as first come first serve. What? I pay for it in full and you sold it out under me. Brandon states, "We are the only ones to carry Temperpedic beds. Good luck. Nope, give me a refund. Bought the exact same bed and had it delivered less than 48 hours later. I might have let it slide but Brandon was so rude I wouldn't deal with it. To make matters even worse... He would not give me any documentation showing my refund. I made him hand write and sign a receipt before I would leave the store. Big mistake. That was one of six beds I needed. Never, ever, ever buy from here in my opinion. Caveat Emptor. read more

I feel it is necessary to warn potential customers that if you are looking for professional, honest, and timely customer service, stay away from this location! After purchasing a mattress and base over the weekend, I scheduled a delivery for Monday. I was informed that I would be called on Sunday with a three hour delivery timeframe. Sunday evening, I received/missed a call, and the message confirmed delivery, but provided no time frame. I attempted to call the number back, and got no response. Monday morning at 7:00am, I get a phone call stating that the driver was expected to arrive in one hour. I got out of bed and quickly began to move items/furniture in my house to make the delivery process smoother for the workers. By 9am, no one had showed up and I needed to get ready to go for work. I called the number, and was told that "someone must have pressed a button on accident", but my delivery window was between 11-2. I called a neighbor and arranged for her to be available until 2pm, because I had to leave for work since I hadn't been given any advance notice on timeframe. About an hour later, I received a call from a rep "confirming" my delivery timeframe was between 12-3. I explained my frustration and asked for a more specific ETA, as my neighbor would only be free until 2. Of course, I was told "2:30". I asked to cancel the delivery because I was unable to make that work at such last minute. I was told that I needed to call the store to reschedule. When I called the store, they stated that they wouldn't be able to reschedule until the trucks finished in the evening. I called later in the evening and was told the earliest delivery date was now Friday (don't forget, I dissembled my frame and moved things around my house expecting a Monday delivery). They were still unable to guarantee or accomodate a morning delivery, despite the inconvenience that I had already experienced. When I inquired about a refund, I was told it would take about 3 weeks to return on my bank card. So I kept the Friday date. It is now Thursday evening, and I am still waiting on a confirmation of a delivery time. Hopefully I can update with a somewhat happy ending, but as of right now, I'm out over $1000, am sleeping on a mattress on the ground, and have no idea when I'll receive my bed. Customer service has not offered to rectify this is any way-the least they could do is offer to throw in a couple of pillows with a sincere apology! It seems unreasonable to guarantee delivery and then not provide efficient communication, and expect someone to be home all day every day to receive a delivery. read more

My Boyfriend and I were looking for a new mattress. We had problems with our latex mattress and Brandon said that we should look at the memory foam. We had liked tempurpedic and were looking at the luxe breeze since I slept hot. We have a custom made bed and needed a certain height requirement. Our sales person, Brandon, seemed knowledgeable (he's been there for four years) and I asked if the tempurpedic foundation could be placed on the floor. He said "yes""no problem". After having problems with the bed and contacting the manufacturer, I was told that you cannot Place the foundation on the floor and we have voided our warranty. We were also told that we would be getting a special mattress cover to preserve the $2k cooling technology on the $6k mattress. We were given a plastic one that made us sweat like crazy. We were given the run around by the district manager and finally got a hold of Brandon to exchange for the correct cooling mattress protector. He couldn't even look my boyfriend in the eye when he came to the store for an exchange. Our top of the line tempurpedic still sucks... so, after a phone call to the manufacturer, tempurpedic beds are only designed for tempurpedic mattress protectors or they won't conform to your body. For a supposedly elite tempurpedic retailer, they know nothing about the product but, will gladly tell you whatever it takes to make the sale. Now I'm just a school teacher who got swindled, stuck with an expensive broken warranty bed and hasn't had a good nights sleep since. No returns! I can get one exchange for a mattress that costs more$$$. Nope! Just Nope! Go somewhere else! This place is the worst! Liars and scammers! Don't believe a word! read more

Not too pleased with the sales tactics they use to make you pay for delivery. Bought a mattress and was told that it would take 3 or weeks for the mattress to be delivered to the store, but if I wanted it earlier I could have it delivered to my house in a few days, for a delivery fee of course. Really, I live 2 miles from the store and had to pay for delivery. Plus, the salesman seemed like he used to work at a used car lot, little shady. When I called the 1-800 to find out about the delivery, the person who answered was as rude as they come, he told me that I had to call the store to find out, which makes no sense as the website says to call the 1-800 number. read more

The only reason I am giving two stars is because the sales representative, Lauren, was friendly, courteous, and very attentive . However, delivery contractor/subcontractor needs a lot of work. Delivery was almost 2 hours past the initial delivery window. I received a call 15 minutes after delivery window that the truck had been held up on a secure base. Stringent entry procedure into secure bases has been nothing new since 9/11/2001. Time allotment should have been made for this. After leaving the base, the delivery tracker showed the truck moving west. Then it was parked at a stand-alone bar for at least 30 minutes. I called dispatch, they claimed the gps isn't always accurate, so I asked they pull it up real time since I could see which routes the truck had taken, and where in relation to the building it was parked. Dispatch manager offered to credit $100 back to the purchase (I haven't seen this yet), and I have yet to hear back from Customer Service regarding an email I sent with the information; it is over a week later. read more

Jon, the manager, was the only one working and he successfully juggled 4 clients at one time, while never making us feel like we weren't getting top notch customer service. I noticed the negative reviews and everyone is entitled to their opinion based on their personal experience. I have not had to deal with any warranty issues as the mattress has not been delivered yet nor has anything been damaged to it. My wife and I went to this store a month or so ago and had excellent customer service from Jon. He was very sick and we offered to come back at another time but he insisted on helping us. He kept his distance and made sure to use hand sanitizer to make sure we don't catch his cold. He walked us through different types of king size beds and did not try to upsell us as we told him the budget we were trying to stay under. He answered any and every question we had and we felt he was very honest with everything. A couple days ago, we went back to the store to pay off the mattress and to schedule a delivery. We dealt with Phil this time. He was polite and offered us insight on a lot of things. We actually purchased a head board in which I want to point out again that he did not try to push this sale on us. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at this location. We were looking for a mattress certified by Certipur. They had a Cheswick Brentwood Manor - which included a Certipur seal in their model onsite in the store. We paid for it. They provided a website that verifies Certipur certification. However, this bed, although displayed the seal at the store could not be verified on Certipur's website. After trying to reconnect with the salesperson, we first got a poor response, followed by a run-around. I called the district office for Mattress Warehouse, the manufacturer of the company, and after some reluctance from the salesperson, I tracked down the district sales manager via LinkedIn. Nobody could confirm the certification. We would've still bought the bed if only they could provide proof of the certification. They eventually refunded the transaction. BUYER BEWARE: The store does not stand behind its merchandise. We were satisfied with our experience in the store, the mattress, and the delivery. However, we have had a problem with the mattress cover ($200)--the material on the sides is so slippery that sheets (100 % cotton) or even another cotton mattress cover will not stay on the bed. I called the store and Lauren told me that other customers have had the same experience/complaint and the only solution is to use sheet clips. I am unwilling to lift a very heavy mattress to do this every time I change the sheets, so I asked her to have the store manager call me. He refused to take the product back or to do anything other than sell me a different mattress cover. I asked him to speak to the company that makes the product. The regional manager called me back and continued to refuse to accept the return. In view of the fact that the sales staff emphasized that we could return the mattress if we weren't satisfied and did not say that the mattress cover and pillows we bought were a final sale, I think their stance is a deceptive sales practice. The regional manager told me that it doesn't matter what the sales personnel said--only the verbiage on the reverse of the sales form!!!!! He said it so readily that I'm sure he's said it before, which suggests they don't care about salesmen misleading customers. Given that we spent over $3000 in the store, (plenty of profit there), it's shocking to me that they wouldn't stand behind a $200 item about which they have previously received complaints. Why are they still selling it? By the way, he also told me that the mattress cannot be returned but only exchanged for another mattress the buyer finds more comfortable. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!! If I could give this Mattress Warehouse ZERO STARS I would! My mattress was delivered with poor workmanship and a hole in the box spring!! I called the customer service rep to speak with him about what my options were and he was beyond RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! He was yelling at me like I wasn't a paying customer!! Then when I called my salesman Jon or John and he said speaking from HIS OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ALL the mattresses at the Mattress Warehouse have a stitching problem not just the Serta mattresses I purchased which is completely unacceptable!! Like my whole bed is unraveling which is visually unappealing and just plain tacky!!! So I went to Mattress Firm and they said that they have NEVER heard about a stitching problem with Serta beds before!! So I'm going to save you time, money, headache, and frustration, PLEASE DO NOT BUY a bed from Mattress Warehouse go to Mattress Firm or any place else!! Also DO NOT be fooled by their fancy perfect bed match technology.................when I finally laid on this bed to see if I even liked it and my back started hurting extremely :(!!!!! So now that I have already bought a mattress from them I am STUCK and have to go and pick a new one and pray the stitching problem isn't as bad -_- !!!! read more

The worst furniture store I have ever been to in my life. They don't care about customers at all and they don't make good on their warranty policy. I was very specific, sent pictures, etc. of the damaged part and they still ordered the wrong one. A month later, still no replacement. They also want me to pay a $100 delivery fee for the replacement part even though I paid this fee for the original. In my book, it should be replaced the same way, delivered and put together for me. I have had to call at least 6 times to figure out where my replacement part is. Awful. read more

Do not do business with this company! The sales people lie about the warranty on mattresses and provide no customer support. If you have any stain even the size of a quarter they will null the warranty and offer you nothing even if mattress is defective. There mattresses are horrible and after spending $750 on a twin mattress it no longer had support after 5 months. I encountered a very rude sales associate here (I think her name was Lauren) when I visited the Friday before Memorial Day 2018. I went through the bed match process and tested out various beds that all felt the same to me, and had a hard time making a decision. I was able to discuss a good price with the associate for a mattress that I kept returning to- the Sealy Hybrid Copper Chill and asked the associate if I could think about the large purchase given the strict return policies, and return on Monday to make a final decision. Lauren's response verbatim: "No, I'm not dealing with this on Monday. You can take this deal or leave it. If you return on Monday you can pay the full sticker price." And then she walked away from me, while I lied on the mattress at the front of the store, to the back of the store and sat at her desk. She ignored my presence until I finally left. Before leaving, I asked her for my bed match results, to which she replied that they are not shared with customers. (Eye roll) Well on Monday (Memorial Day) I continued my search and visited a Mattress Firm and then a different Mattress Warehouse, both located in Silver Spring. Needless to say, I BOUGHT the Sealy Hybrid Silver Chill (an upgrade) from the Silver Spring store due to the excellent customer service and my ability to mull over the decision over the weekend. I didn't return to the Columbia store because Lauren told me I wasn't welcome there, and quite frankly I won't spend my money where I'm not treated with respect. You missed out on a sale Lauren, as a result of your terrible attitude. Managers, I suggest you train your staff appropriately if you want customers' hard earned money. We were extremely happy and satisfied with our salesperson, Lauren. She was patient, professional, pleasant and knowledgeable! We were also very satisfied with the price, and delivery time, and the delivery service and the professionalism of the delivery crew. So you may reasonably ask, why 1 Star? Well after the delivery crew took our King bed to the garage and set up the split king adjustable bed, one of the sides did not work. They tried trouble shooting but to no avail. So this is a Saturday morning at 8 am and the store is not open till 10 am. We called the customer service # and Star who answered was not only not helpful but rude, unprofessional and totally did not care even a little bit about our situation - but said there was nothing we could do until the next week and we should just send everything back. Our King bed was already in the garage, and all we needed was one split king adjustable base to make this good. We asked if we could go pick up another base somewhere in Maryland and she said "of course not!", we'd have to wait till the following week! We asked to speak to a supervisor, and she said she couldn't do that, they were all in a meeting. After hanging up, we refused delivery on the one adjustable split king and the guys took it away, giving my husband their cell # and apologizing profusely. My husband waited till 10 am and went to the store, and Lauren was amazing - AGAIN! She contacted the warehouse in Frederick Maryland, and arrange for them to give my husband a new working base. She was amazing, refusing to hear no from anyone, she was going to make this right for us and did. She is an incredible employee and image for Mattress Warehouse, unlike this Star, who should be fired immediately. Star could care less about the customer, it was a real inconvenience that the delivery crew had given us the phone # and she had no intention of problem solving or helping in any way - "Not my job"! The worst possible spokesperson for Mattress Warehouse. You all do know that you have a lot of competition, don't you? So, my wonderful husband drove 40 miles (one-Way) to Frederick, Md warehouse and brought home a new base. The two of us managed to get a 125 lb base up a flight of stairs and install it ourselves. He's my hero! We bought this because I'm having major abdominal surgery in 2 weeks, and we thought the adjustable bed might help me recover with more ease. So kudos to Lauren, she is amazing and a real asset to the company, nothing but boos to Star, she was terrible and really awful in her job and this should be addressed by corporate or whoever has oversight! Morale of the story, don't have a bed delivered on a Saturday, when the warehouse is closed on Sunday, and you'll have to deal with the awful Star, who dislikes her job and customerproblems! Unless Mattress Warehouse does something about her and gets a real customer service rep, who knows how to treat customer, and Not this awful woman, who will make you regret that you've ever done business with MW! read more

I called ahead to see what kind of specials if any were going on and I spoke with Lauren. She was pleasant and confident I'd find the perfect bed so I hung up and immediately drove to the store. She was the only person there when I arrived and I was happy that I could get some serious one on one bed info. I already knew I wanted a tempur pedic so she showed me a few and I tested them out. We chatted and laughed as I indulged in bed heaven. I participated in the bed match analysis and it was pretty cool. The bed I was interested was on my finally analysis and sealed the deal for me. Lauren was so helpful and really knows about the merchandise in the store. The whole finance process was a breeze. I even made the list for next day delivery, which was perfect because the bed was a birthday gift. When I left I was so happy and couldn't wait for the bed to be delivered. Thank you Lauren for going out of your way to give me the ultimate experience in bed shopping! Sweet dreams to us! We love our new bed!! read more
