At…read morethe time of purchase, the salesperson explicitly informed me that if I was not satisfied with the loveseat, I would have three days to return it. The office manager was seated nearby during this conversation and was aware of the terms that were communicated to me. The loveseat was delivered on May 28, 2026. The following morning, May 29, 2026, I decided that the loveseat was not suitable for my needs and contacted Ashley Furniture to arrange a return. When I spoke with the office manager, she initially informed me that the loveseat could not be returned. I reminded her that I had been told at the time of purchase that I had a three-day return period. She then stated that a return would be allowed, provided I paid a $150 retrieval fee. I agreed to the fee, and she instructed me to come to the store to make the payment. After driving to the store, I was informed by the office manager that the loveseat could not be returned after all because it was a floor model. She acknowledged that the salesperson had told me I had three days to return the loveseat, so she was aware of the conversation. If she knew it was wrong information, she should have said so before I made the purchase. The store manager then joined the discussion and likewise stated that the loveseat could not be returned. However, he also acknowledged that I had been told I could return the loveseat within three days. When I asked him directly whether I had been given incorrect information, he apologized and admitted that I had indeed been told I had a three-day return window, but stated that there was nothing he could do and would not stand behind their word. In addition, the delivery driver also informed me at the time of delivery that I had three days to return the loveseat if I chose not to keep it. As a result, three Ashley Furniture employees--the salesperson, the office manager, and the store manager--as well as the delivery driver, acknowledged that I was told I had a three-day return period. Despite these admissions, Ashley Furniture has refused to honor the terms that were represented to me when I made the purchase. Buyer beware, stay away from Ashley. They are not a company you can trust.

(This is the polite version of how I really feel.) Jesse and his team at Dreamland take everything I hate about mattress shopping out of the equation. Jesse is one of the best salespeople I know. He gives zero pressure, zero hype, and zero BS. He is only there to HELP his customers solve their sleep problems with his vast knowledge and products. Then, on top of that, his products are of high quality and his prices are very fair. No predatory pricing at Dreamland. Bottom line: Jesse takes all the pain out of mattress shopping. There's a reason I drove in from Ohio the first time I purchased from him, and now this time we live even further away but took advantage of a trip to PA to buy adjustable bases and two lift recliners. (I did not intend to buy the recliners, but Jesse quietly solved some big problems for us and I cheerfully gave him my money!) One of my friends who is local to Dreamland even had him ship mattresses to their Florida home rather than deal with the nightmare of mattress shopping down there. It had been 10 years since we'd bought a mattress and there have been many advances in the types of mattresses available so I had a lot to learn. We ended up easily compromising on our mattress and they even threw in a complimentary mattress cover. I have been in hospital for 2 months. My auto pay card expired today. I called right away to give my new card number. Was told they could not take my payment and I had to go online. For that I was charged a rather hefty "convenience fee ". I called customer support to explain the situation, but was told only the local office could waive the fee. Since they already turned me away saying they wouldn't take my payment, I had to pay the extra cost. Big fail in customer service there. Otherwise it would be a five star.

My unit was insured for $2k, which would have covered all furniture lost. Unfortunately, the insurance company (separate from CubeSmart's storage depot) was a bit underhanded and stated that the policy specifically does not include the type of damage sustained on the property. When regional and store management learned of what happened, they offered to haul away my damaged furniture at expense to the company- which was a huge relief to not have to commit the time for a second move, and pay for a second u-haul, for furniture we cannot use. The regional manager has asked for a list of my items damaged, and although he cannot guarantee any sort of reimbursement, he is going to try. I have my review at a 3-star, and if we recoup any of our losses, that would elevate the experience to 4-5 stars. If we do recoup any of our losses I will further adjust. I work as an organizational development and process improvement specialist, and one of my focus areas is service recovery. The commitment to improving my husband's and mine's experience has been great.
