I very much appreciated that it was a single restroom, not the room filed w stalls. The service/memorial room was big and they had separated the chairs in to w sections...so only having to walk in front of four people versus eight. A small parking lot, but I had arrived early. It's a nice touch that there are a few benches out front, under the carport so if you need to take some time outside. When I left I circled over to the other side of the room to look at pictures and exited the room through the south door...very nice that that room was used for desserts. They handled every detail with such care, compassion, and patience. We primarily worked with Melanie. She was mindful of special touches that the deceased would have loved and that brought much comfort to the living spouse. Exceeded expectations by a mile!!! They went far and above anything we have ever experienced before in any memorial service. They really listened to us and seemed genuinely interested to know who Jeff was; then made areas in the room that reflected Jeff's interests and personality with pictures, memorabilia, and more. They had to have spent hours and hours on getting it ready! It was like a showcase of Jeff's life. He would have absolutely loved it! The quality of everything they did was top-notch. The printed programs, the guestbook, and everything was so thoughtful and well-crafted. The pictures I have included are just a small sample of what they did. The walls around the room had slideshows with pictures of Jeff's life. It was EPIC! Daniel, Corrine and the entire staff were wonderful to work with. Always pleasant, helpful and supportive. We had never planned a funeral or memorial service before and the staff here helped us every step of the way and made the process actually enjoyable. They took care of everything before, during and after the visitation, service, and luncheon so we could spend time with our approximately 70 guests. The building was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for our family and friends to get together. I really can't stop raving about this place to everyone. Absolutely a great value, worth every penny spent. They really made a day we were dreading into a wonderful memory spending time celebrating my brother's life. A+++!!!

gearhart funeral home, ryan scharfencamp…read more chelsea mae chase-washburn our family just went through a very traumatic time with the loss of a beautiful 33 year old that has three children, ages 5, 2, 1 month, and michael, a man she loved with all her heart. we came to gearhart funeral home in anoka, mn and worked directly with ryan scharfencamp. the arrangement took place on a sunday afternoon. when the meeting was done, we knew we had made the best choice. ryan was absolutely wonderful. he was patient and totally understanding of our sadness and breaking hearts. we then set date and time for the visitation at the anoka gearhart funeral home, with complete confidence. on that following saturday when we, the family, arrived, we were totally surprised at the amazing, meticulous, job ryan had done with all of the pictures, flowers & memorabilia that was all meant to honor our chelsea mae chase-washburn. we could see the personal touches that ryan had made on behalf of the family. he made sure her favorite items were placed with pride and dignity, just the way chelsea would have loved it. we even noted that ryan had printed & framed an additioinal picture and placed it in the arrangement that was specifically made for chelsea's and michael's children. ryan's compassion, the personal touches, the heartfelt care he and his staff put into everything that we needed during this very sad time, will always be embraced and remembered. i would never hesitate to go to ryan or gearhart funeral homes again. thank you with all our love, family of chelsea mae chase-washburn

From the moment we walked in, in shock with immediate grief, to following the burial, they walked us through every aspect of the process. We were able to create a beautiful memorial in remembrance of our beloved mother that was true to her uniqueness and according to her wishes. Special thanks to David, Jane, Vera, Stephanie, Elida, Michael, Kirk, and I know there are several others I'm forgetting. All the attendants were professional and proactive. It was also the only space we visited (of five or six) that was large enough to hold a sanctuary-like service, given we were not using a church building for our service.
