Oh man. As a veterinarian, I'm not normally on "this side" of the veterinary table. I had to put my own beloved 14-year-old pit bull mix to sleep, and I had contacted another cremation service - while they were great at communication, they couldn't fit us in at 6 pm for dropping off my dog's body. It was frustrating, because I really didn't want my family to have to deal with "much" during this trying time. (e.g., didn't want my dog's body in the garage overnight). A veterinary colleague recommended "Pets Remembered Cremation Service" and I had an amazing experience. They were super responsive, had clear communication in a time of grief, and had an after hours fee which allowed me to drop off my dog's body at a time that worked for us. When I got there, they were so compassionate and empathetic, and really treated my dog's body with respect. I really appreciated the space (e.g., grieving room) and them greeting me at the door with guerney (with blankets and a pillow on it). I got my dog's ashes back the next day and the presentation was beautiful - a beautiful bag, temporary cardboard tube for his ashes, and the most heartwarming nose print and paw print memorial. It made the passing of our dog was made so much more peaceful because of Pets Remembered Cremation Service. We can't thank enough to the Pets Remembered. We had to put Neo down and send to the U of M lab for rabies test last month. We had a in-home vet to say good bye, then stop by the Pets Remembered to do momentous. After that we dropped him off at the lab. After the result came back with negative, the Pets Remembered picked him up for cremation. We were worried that if we can really have him back, but Gini from the Pets Remembered made sure that they will have Neo from the lab. My dog passed away early Monday morning. Although we have a backyard, we reseeded grass, and our dog was large at 60#. Plus, we would have needed to call Gopher one call to mark for utilities. A Google search yielded this place and mn pets. On their website, the cost was $235, and they opened at 9 am. I called shortly after, and no appointment was needed. My son and I wrapped up my dog and drove 30 minutes to New Brighton/Arden Hills. There is a drive up, and Janae brought a wheeled cot to our car. Filling out the form and seeing her one last time, I was a crying mess. My son drove us home. Later in the day, around 5:00, I received a text that Hunter was ready to come home. We picked up the cremains in a mahogany box, paw prints on cards, clay paw print, some dog fur, and a nice note and forget me, not seeds. Janae also introduced herself and was so compassionate. My only slight negative is that the parking lot is only one way. Turnaround was tricky. We parked on the street and walked in to pick up cremains. I don't know if I'll get another dog. But this service was very dignified and professional. read more

Yeah, look, I really don't want to be writing this review. I want my cat back with me and it's devastating that he's gone and I'm mad at one of my vets for sending me that stupid rainbow bridge poem. Anyway, here's the deal. I didn't pick this crematory service. I didn't know about this crematory service and I didn't want to, but cats have shorter lives than we do so here we are: my cat died, and my vet sent his body here. Less than a week later, I got a brief and totally appropriate text message letting me know that I should arrange to come pick up what's left of him, so when I had too hard a morning with grief to go into work, I did that. The person on the phone was totally professional and explained what to do when I got there, what to look for. I arrived and was getting my phone out to let them know I was there when someone came out. She wasn't masked, but she was outside and I was in my car so okay. She went and got me a paper bag with black ink paw prints. When I got home, I opened the bag and found it full of reasonably tasteful death memorabilia. In addition to the small crematory box containing the chunky grit that was my friend, I now have a small paper envelope of his fur (I guess this is in case I clean my place, haha), a card with a paw print, a refrigerator magnet with a paw print, and a small clay tablet with a paw print. There's also a bunch of the standard condolence material and the certificate saying they cremated him alone and are certain I have the correct box of chunky grit. Everything was packaged neatly and professionally, it all appeared clean, and everyone I had contact with was very professional. I hope you don't need this place's services, but if you do, they do a great job. read more

PRC was extremely kind and swift with the transition of our sweet sweet FerNanDo. He was only 2 years 9 months, so this definitely came as a shock. We received a gentle phone call saying, 'FerNanDo is in our CARE!' The simplicity of such terms, warmed our hearts. We picked him up the next day. We received him in a beautiful box, with options to customize an urn, though to our surprise- we now feel that this beautiful hand crafted box is his new safe space with us. This review isn't going to be funny - so if you only read my reviews for my caustic wit, you can skip this one. I won't be offended. I had Charly for 14 years, 10 months and the day after Christmas she took ill and stopped eating. After emotionally draining, expensive vet tests the only conclusion they could come up with was acute kidney failure and they suggested putting in a feeding tube for the oh so low price of $2,000 for surgery + medication. We contemplated the cost vs. the quality of life she'd have after the surgery and since the vet couldn't make any guarantees that the surgery would even help her live through the week - we opted to let her die at home with dignity, surrounded by all of her toys and kitty friends, with pain medication to help keep her comfortable. Not an easy decision. Charly passed away at 7:10pm on New Year's Eve, which was a pretty horrible way to ring in the New Year. I had called Pets Remembered prior to her passing to inquire about their services - they told me they'd answer my call for a pick up anytime and they let me know they'd even pick her up on New Year's Day, which was pretty nice of them. When you choose the cremation service they allow you to send things (nothing metal or plastic) with your pet to be cremated with them - we sent her favorite toys, a goodbye letter, and her favorite blankets with her. They also guarantee that your beloved pet will be cremated alone, so there's no chance you'll get another pet's ashes - which is oddly comforting. Skip came by on New Year's morning at 10am and picked up Charly and the stuff we were sending with her. He arrived in a station wagon - not a van or regular car. Also a nice touch because it's pretty morbid to think about your pet being locked in a trunk or in the back of a large van jostling around like loose change. There was minimal paperwork to fill out and Skip asked if we'd like clay paw prints (we did) and he told us we'd also receive information on how to write a memorial for Charly after her cremation was completed (which we did). He said we could pick her up the following day. The next day we picked her up at 5:30pm - they had stayed open for us because they're very accommodating people. We received Charly's ashes in a beautiful wooden box, 2 clay paw prints, and 2 remembrance cards. Skip and his wife were lovely throughout the whole process. I would definitely use this service again. read more

This is definitely a place to go if you have to have a pet euthanized and/or cremated. They have a very caring staff and treat your pet with dignity. We had to euthanize our dog Hank and it was a very calm and peaceful departure for him. We've had other dogs euthanized in the past at vets' offices and it was always an uncomfortable environment. Highly highly highly recommended... in one of the most terrible of times, they were kind, compassionate and treated my beloved pup with dignity and respect. This is the first time that I have used the service. I had my 11 year old bearded dragon pass away unexpectedly and didn't have the heart to bury him in the yard. I found this place online and decided to check them out and I'm extremely happy that I did. Not only is the staff here amazing and kind, their service went above and beyond anything I had ever expected. They put so much respect and care into the bag that we received with my bearded dragon's ashes. Along with a tiny urn box and card, they included a certificate of cremation for him and a packet of Forget Me Not seeds to plant somewhere special. There was also a donation made in his name to Frankie's Friends Charitable Pet Foundation. The part that blew me away, is that they took the time to get my lizard's feet prints! I have had that done with both cats and dogs but never a lizard. I seriously cried because it was so unexpected. I know many of these things are small and may seem insignificant, but when you are mourning the loss of a pet, it means so much. Thank you so much for the care you took with Hiccup. Thank you for taking care of our baby, and for taking such great care of us too. We had gone to a different pet cremation service earlier in the day, and decided that it wasn't right for us, so we called Pets Remembered and they were so kind, compassionate, and were able to schedule a service for us that day. When we arrived we were met by their dog Kona, it was really nice for me to be greeted by such a kind, gentle animal. We spoke with Melanie and she was very sympathetic, understanding, and explained the process to us in detail while we waited for Skip to prepare the service. Skip truly understands the grief when losing a loved one; we had plenty of time to say goodbye and carried our baby the rest of the way. We were able to wait in the lobby area during the service, and both Skip and Melanie spent that time talking with us about Millie, their own animals, and their experience with grief. Melanie is also a vet tech and we knew from talking with her she has a great respect for the care of animals. After about an hour Millie was placed in a wooden urn that is hand carved with forget-me-not flowers, and we were able to take her home. Unbelievable Experience! It was a shock to lose my English Springer only 2 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. It was devastating and Pet Remembered eased the process with their sincere concern and deep compassion. They not only took care of my Brisco in a professional manner, they were kind and understanding. When I picked up Brisco's ashes, I was surprised with the care they took to make me feel better. They placed his ashes in a carved wooden box (which was included in the price), they took paw prints and kept a few locks of fur for me. They also made a donation in the name of Brisco to non-profit, Frankies Fund, to help fund pet medical services for people that can't afford them. They included a packet of forget-me-not seeds to plant in my garden next year in remembrance of my sweet boy and they included literature about grief groups. It is so difficult to write a great review for such a sad occasion, but the staff here went out of their way to help us find peace. Skip was kind and helpful on the phone and picked our beloved Fozzy up from the University of Minnesota on Labor Day. Skip notified us that they would be (individually) cremating Fozzy first thing the following day. I requested an extra paw print in case the University had not done one, and also said I may be getting a tattoo of his footprint, so Skip made up some cards with Fozzy's footprint in ink in case. Carol called the next morning to say that Fozzy was ready to be picked up late morning--such a fast process to help us heal--I have heard of other places taking weeks to do an individual cremation. When my husband and I went to Pets Remembered to pick him up, we had brought our 2nd dog with us. Carol was friendly, compassionate, professional, and presented us with the beautiful wood engraved box holding our dear pet. Carol gave us some information on grieving and how to help our other dog through the void that Fozzy was sure to leave. A truly emotional experience to say the least... Skip and his wife were so genuine and compassionate during the passing of my best friend Shug. They made sure I understood everything that was going on and they explained to me everything I needed to know. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience during such a difficult time. When we came to pick up Shug's ashes, I was so happy to have two sweet pups meet me at the door. I hadn't been around another dog since Shug passed and it was very therapeutic to sit and chat with Skip and his wife and get all the cuddles from the dogs. They called to check in on me about a week later, which was a very thoughtful gesture. We were willing to pay any cost to have Shug's cremation done properly, but I know not everyone has that option. At this very sad time, I feel much gratitude to Pets Remembered for the manner in which they handled all aspects of our loss of our sweet little Chihuahua, Bootsie. They were extremely easy to talk to during my initial contact with them. They have handled many losses for families through the years, including our other Chihuahua in 2017. Losing a furry family member is never easy, and there are decisions that one needs to make. But I found their office person very adept with making coordinating arrangements with our veterinarian. They picked her up at our vet when they said they would and returned her when they said they would as well. She was returned in a lovely carved wooden urn, in addition to her paw print in clay as well as in ink. They also donate some of the proceeds to an appropriate canine cause. Everybody at Pets Remembered went above and beyond in ensuring that not only I, but also my dog, Dexter, were treated exceptionally well. There was a bout of confusion at first after my dog was put to sleep in which he was brought to a different cremation service through my vet's office. However, very soon after I read about Pets Remembered in New Brighton and found out very quickly that this is where Dexter should go. I was able to call my vet's office and have them bring Dexter back to their office. Skip was then able to pick Dexter up and bring him to their facility, Dexter was back with me in only a day, which brought a great feeling of relief and comfort. What really was exceptional about the service I was received is that Pets Remembered is what follows. Although unlikely, I was somewhat concerned that there could be a slight possibility that a different dog might be brought back from the original cremation service due to a mix up or some other error. This stuck in my mind and made the situation even more difficult. Pets Remembered allowed me to email them photos of Dexter so that they could confirm and assure me that they had Dexter. This brought tremendous amounts of relief. I just want to give an enormous thanks to Emily, my first source of contact with Pets Remembered who went above and beyond in ensuring that I received the best service and care possible. I want to thank Skip for being very understanding of the situation when I spoke with him on the phone and Melanie for being so kind and compassionate when I picked up Dexter's ashes. Not once did I doubt that Dexter was respected with dignity and compassion throughout the cremation process. Pets Remembered helped me find tremendous amounts of relief, comfort and closure. My 17 year old cat passed away on November 24th and I was a little frazzled (to say the least) when trying to figure out what to do with my beloved Oreo. I decided cremation was the best option. When I was doing a search for pet cremation on Google, there were a lot of options, but the only place that seemed to fit my needs was Pets Remembered. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, kind, helpful, and compassionate. My questions were answered and I brought in Oreo a few days after she passed away. I love that animals are treated with the same respect as humans, and that each pet is cremated individually so you only receive your pet's ashes. I was able to pick up Oreo's urn the next day, and I also received her paw prints and clippings of her fur. The urn is lovely, I might add - hand-carved wood. Even though losing a pet is incredibly difficult, Pets Remembered help with the grieving process so much and treat animals with such respect and care. I will definitely use their services the next time I lose a pet - which won't be for a while, hopefully! I can't recommend them enough. read more
