Awesome market and park! There are lots of food trucks to grab lunch. Make sure to bring cash!! It's a fun combination of artists, antiques/garage sale stuff, books, food, juice, and clothing. Definitely very fun to walk around. There was a restaurant in the market that let you use the restroom for 50 cent euros if you need it. read more

Flithy park, large crowds, crazy heat and burnt, dry grass! We came along to the Sunday flea market which was vast but mainly full of clothes and trinkets. There was a large food section which was great! I would recommend that! There is also a bar in the corner of the park that has very comfortable seats an a bar, we spent a couple of hours here out of the intense heat and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't have spent much time in the park otherwise, it was very dirty and just felt dusty and burnt out. No lush greenery at all. This was a disappointing part of our trip but in saying that I see the appeal of coming here for the food and drinks. read more

Oh Mauer, I always heard "Sundays at Mauer are a must" but never paid much attention on the first few months of me here, But now? If I have a Sunday off and weather is good this is where you will probably find me - either walking in the market for the millionth time, listening to the karaoke or just having a beer or BBQ in the sun, really, this is the place to be, so many beautiful people, smiles, good atmosphere, good music. I think that now because it is a trend the market prices are a bit more expensive than they should, but it is still great fun. Needless to say, of course, that this park is really nice even on regular weekdays, but Sunday is a must! read more

A real (eat) Berlin legend....If you visit Berlin without being here at least once, it is as bad as visiting Paris without being at the Eiffel tower!...yes that bad. When we first moved to Berlin this was the closest park to our place & I loved it first sight. Let me count the ways... 1. Massive. In summer, picture 100 games of catch (although no one does that here) & in winter, a long row of little sledders. 2. Graffiti wall. A public, approved space for practice and art 3. Dog Park. I will never forget about my first Mauerpark experience. It was my first week living in Berlin and my friend dragged me over to this flea market because she said, "You just have to see the karaoke!!!" I was LOLing. It was really really entertaining...and funny in an unexpected--- woah look at that mass of people sort of way. This is one of the bigger flea markets in Berlin. It's a wonderful place for "hipster" watching and people watching in general. Some people wear strange clothing, but I love it! It reminds me of home! There are food stands galore, and some cool finds. However, it is a bit touristy. Overall, this is a good place to go on a Sunday. One of The biggest, free open spaces in Berlín. Great for biking, rollerblading, jogging or just having a picnic. Lots of space to run around with kids, pets, or throw a ball around. Also a good place for sunbathing or a quiet place to sit and read. This park is super easy to get to by the tram, metro, or a short walk from the flea market area. Mauerpark is a great example of what makes Berlin different. Mauerpark is not a nice, manicured park, but it is lively, interesting and different, and of course it has a good stretch of the old Berlin wall running through it. The history of the park is actually quite interesting. It was once the site of the Nordbahnhof (North Station) of Berlin, and continued to be a freight station up until the building of the Berlin wall. Afterwards, for obvious reasons the land became a mixture of death strip and waste land. These day's the old death strip part is now the park, i.e. the grassy area and the hill, and the western part is now used for a flea market which is well worth visiting. read more

We went to the Mauerpark late Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago for the infamous bearpit karaoke. Sadly it wasn't on that weekend but it was a still a worthwhile visit as the park had a bit of a festival atmosphere with bands playing, fire jugglers, and all sorts going on. There was a really great flea market as well - huge, with a good mix of new handmade and vintage/antique items. Lots of great clothing, jewellery, art, etc. There's a biergarten in the market area, and there are vendors roaming the park selling cups of gluhwein for €2. The market also had a large food section that looked great, though I'd already eaten so didn't get to try. read more

Mauer Park is really nice place to go on Sundays. Though it is usually very crowded it is even more perfect when it is a nice weather.. There is a big Flohmarkt with many thing to buy.. from clothes, shoes, accessories, to vintage stuff, furniture, bicycles.. I found very nice bicycle..vintage style and and bought it in a really nice price.. Actually I made offers for the price for 10 minutes..and at the end got a bike in the half price it was in the beggining.. Except from the second hand market you can find a lot of kind of fast food.. Don't miss the VEGAN burger.. And of course you can find a very nice way of entertainment with the Karaoke not saying more.. you have to go and see. read more

Mauerpark is great to hang out or have a BBQ on a Sunday. Its really big and you will find a cozy spot. If you are looking for the weekend fleamarket though, then you have to consider that it's more about food and music. The things you can buy here are very commercial, it's not an original fleamarket. If you are looking for unique pieces and some furniture, go around the corner to Arkonaplatz fleamarket (Sundays). read more
