Blessed Wastewater Solutions - Nice pic of Joseph and I, just before the work started.

I have a 3-year old, 1500 gallon septic tank that I wanted inspected and pumped. I called and spoke…read morewith Joseph at Blessed Wastewater Solutions. He returned my call within the hour, provided me with a ballpark quote for my system size (access, content, location, and others factors are cost variables). I figured we'd set date before I have guests over in the next week. Nope - he said he'd be over same day if I'm ready. I cleared shrubs, removed lid covers and made it easy to het to the covers (he would have done all that). He and Vinny showed up, clean, professional, happy, and just overall solid. They pumped, cleaned, and put everything back in a relatively short period of time. Wastewater is wastewater but it doesn't have to be an unpleasant experience - call Blessed Wastewater Solutions. I've worked with many wastewater contractors and Blessed Wastewater Solutions is one of the good guys.

So completely true to their name. Our vacation rental suddenly developed a a horrible septic system…read moreproblem, with an intensely strong sulfur gas smell in the house. The rental agency told us that their contracted tech couldn't help us for a week. We were desperate to know if we were safe, so we called Joshua just to ask for his advice...but he immediately dropped by with his sons to take a look! They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the system and what was happening...and then refused to take any payment for the half hour spent investigating the pump and tank. BEYOND Aloha, and we are so grateful...we have definitely been Blessed.

Does plumbing/septic ever start to get unwieldy at a GOOD time? Not in my experience. It's always the wrong time to suspect you need to service your septic. Anyhoo, I suspected my septic was ready to be serviced. I had only been told 'you'll know when you need it' and nothing else. Smelled awful smell in bathroom. Decided not to wait till I KNEW-knew. These folks called me back stat, and scheduled a check-up visit next day. They explained that, in the event I didn't need service, I'd pay $150 for the check. If I indeed needed service, no service fee - and they set expectations around anticipated service cost. We chatted and I got great information about how to try to locate my clean out(I was able to send pictures to the nice lady via text), the estimated time a system would last between services based on size of house/estimated tank size and occupancy, and I knew I was in good hands. As I am new to the home, I could only guess how long it had been based on last remodel date. Then I discovered the awful smell was coming from a hydroponic bathroom plant that was rotting. (Guess I'm telling the story of my idiocy rn, to avoid leaving y'all in suspense.) Tossed the plant, smell cleared, and I called back to cancel with great embarrassment. They didn't laugh me off the island, and I now know who I'll 100% be calling when I do need a septic service. I'm still not entirely sure how I'll know when it's due... 'Oh, you'll know' sounds scary and to avoid drain back up I'm happy to pay a service fee to alleviate anxiety the next time I suspect septic afoul.

    Drain Man - Hydro Jetter

Drain Man did solid plumbing work for me initially. On December 23, they resolved a slow toilet…read moreseepage issue efficiently, and I was happy with the quality of the repair. Follow-up work (faucet replacement and shutoff valve replacements) had to wait for a building-wide water shutoff. When I learned on Jan 23 that a shutoff had been scheduled for Jan 31 (a limited, 3-hour window that happens maybe a few times a year), I contacted Drain Man immediately--speaking with the office manager and following up the same day by both text and email with full details. (These communications had concluded by 1:15 p.m.) By 11:30 a.m. Monday morning I hadn't heard back. When I called again, (the call rolled over from the office directly to the plumber, who said he was on his back underneath someone's sink), I was told nothing was scheduled and was asked for the work details again, despite having already provided them. When I expressed concern about the multiple provisions of the details--given the tight timing--the conversation was ended abruptly by the plumber ("I'm busy"). This experience suggested organizational and communication issues. That impression was reinforced by the fact that my landlord had also been waiting on an electronic invoice from the December visit and still hadn't received it by Jan. 12. Bottom line: if you're judging purely on workmanship, I have no complaints. But if timely communication, clear scheduling, and not having to repeat yourself matter to you, this may not be the right fit.

Don is also friendly and I would recommend this company or at least check on his pricing comparison to others. Don is a A+ rated professional and will call this company when I need a professional plumber.
