Such remarks of disbelief and many more that I hear regularly make my blood boil and want to scream out time and time again and say YES, BLACK MAGIC DOES EXIST! IT IS USED IN THE REAL WORLD BY REAL PEOPLE, and the sole purpose is to ruin someone's life or even end it! Black Magic can't be proven; it's an invisible crime with visible results. It has devastating effects, and I am living proof of that. I am a Female born and bred in the UK, well educated and travelled and have worked in some of London's top financial institutions, and yet I never had a clue about Black Magic, any concern or belief of it. Why would I? This current location was opened by HRH Prince Charles in 2000! Three floors of art, design and sculpture bust over the walls and floors around this building! Robert Neil the current Society's president was at the gallery when I visited today. He's friendly and passionate about the work of the Society and that passion puts a ery modern face on such a historic group. Take a look around. Inside there's what looks slightly ramshackle looking kitchen and toilet facilities but edge made the most of the large yard and really hosted a great event which will live on my memory as a memerable evening in Birmingham. I've been to this venue for an array of different performances and festivals such as Flatpack and Network Music Festival - and I think the space is perfect for emerging talent. I've never experienced a bad night at this venue, and I've also DJed here once. I'm usually quite scared and nervous when DJing, but the relaxed atmosphere contained inside The Edge gave me great confidence. Although it is another abandoned warehouse, there's this amazing secret vibrancy kept inside which is different from other venues, mainly expressed from the friendly staff and people. There are also permanent art fixtures on the walls, and the warehouse itself seems a lot cleaner and tidier inside when compared to other converted factories. The Edge also sells delicious brownies and other cakes and sweets, which take you back to your childhood days. Keep your eyes peeled for events here.

A visit to their website confirms this - they offer an art consultation service which promises advice on what art work to acquire for your home or workplace, which given the photographs seems to depend on what shade of wallpaper you own. I'm sorry to sound sniffy but this really isn't my cup of tea - and this is from someone who rather likes L'enfant prints (we're back to my time at Athena again) and the odd Monet. Still, its a nice enough place to spend a few minutes and if you find yourself left stranded by the 22 bus and without an umbrella its definitely worth a look.

Had my first visit to the Old Print Works last night. What a lovely place! A mixed use creative…read morespace, it's filled with workshops, a courtyard, a shop (selling local crafts) and the wonderfully chilled Ort Cafe. Easy to get to on the number 50 bus, there is a whole range of classes and events put on at the venue, so check the website listings regularly. It's a airy, light venue (but the toilets are a bit like an indoor outhouse sans spiders). The Cafe sells a range of herbal teas, different coffees (a full 4 cup caffetiere is a £5 a pop and the coffee is wonderful) and snacks. Last night they had a sweet potato and coconut soup on that sounded simply divine. The Ort Cafe also puts on events such as "swap shop" where you can take things that you no longer need and swap it for something you do. They are currently looking for spare cassette tapes to make lamps for the venue, so a good excuse to go down, donate your tapes and grab a coffee.

You can buy these digitally mastered prints for that perfect gift. They are £5 each, or if you buy 4, you get 1 FREE! Digitally produced art of famous people, I loved this stall, and found myself spending a lot of time here, not annoying the staff though, as they are quite friendly.. You can buy different sizes and the artwork is appealing and eye catching. I'd recommend this little stall for that something different.

I walked past the Time Art Gallery a number of times before I actually stopped to have a flick through what was on offer. They sell a variety of printed canvases which tend to be copies of famous artwork or celebrity portraits but I also saw a number of landmark paintings which looked pretty cool too. I've recently moved house so I was subconsciously thinking about buying some new art work but I didn't want to spend hundreds. Although these are copies, they are great quality and really affordable. There's a good selection for you choose from so if you're looking for something different and a bit more creative than the typical Ikea prints, you should pop down to the ground floor of the Bullring to see what's on offer.

Free museum in Birmingham city centre focusing on contemporary art. It's in a very grand building,…read moreso I thought the museum would be big too, but it wasn't. Well there is a lot of empty space, and not that much to see. Few different rotating exhibitions, I saw some on the rave scene in the 80s and also racial violence from the 60-90s. On the way out I accidentally insulted one of the artists, but he just brushed it off.

The museum has a terrific selection of paintings from the 15th, 16th & 17th centuries and a particularly good selection of Pre-Raphaelites. There's a *gorgeous*/large Edwardian tea room and also a separate café (the latter is small and attractive). The gift shop isn't very large, but it had some nice items. Also, I had a wonderful conversation with one of the guards; she was very friendly and kind-hearted.
