Helpful, informative and always going out of the way so we could harvest what we came for, which was originally wild pigs for eating...My friend and I got our 2 pigs each but the itch to get more was there and evolved into a desire to get an Aoudad which was really a challenge...However, with effort and encouragement I was able to get an ~120yrd shot (I golf) and get one! The rest of the staff throughout were incredible and friendly and our cook Cori, was super fabulous and can cook and incredible meal! Erica was also a gem in helping answer questions and getting us situated before the trip. Seriously, I would have easily paid more than what I did I had so much fun! The animals were plentiful and beautiful but it was not easy to get what you want because you had to be patient and let time and effort pay off. It was such a spectacular time, we are doing it again in Q2 or Q1. I highly recommend 4 Amigos for an awesome, relaxing fun time of hunting, sight seeing, animal watching and being with genuinely awesome people. Memorable and stupendous. The professional guide (Raul) is Coast Guard certified as a captain, he is thorough and explains all aspects of the experience as it is happening. Having a special needs child is difficult and new experiences are tough but he went above and beyond to make her feel special. We caught 9 fish and the afternoon was a success. On our way back he stopped and cleaned the fish for us which was super cool to watch and also saved me the worry of having to clean. We loved everything about this and hope to do it again! When we visited, the rangers/staff were happy to see us and were very kind. The displays take up most of one room but were definitely worth a quick stop and check. We especially liked the artifacts and reproductions of artifacts. Those are always interesting to see. They also had a display of animal skulls and tracks that I'm sure younger kids would have been even more fascinated than me. Well, my 12 year old brain enjoyed them and was amazed at how fierce something that size seems. If visiting the area, check it out next time.

They are also cold which is nice when it's hot out. The store offers lots of basic essentials in case you forgot anything and the gift shop is stocked with merch. There is currently some construction which can cause some headaches, but it's pretty minimal.

Olive Texas Ranch's Arbequina Extra Virgin Oil seems to be a bit of a scam. I should have been…read morewarned by the label on the bottle, which gave the harvest date simply as 'early autumn' without any year. But I like arbequina oil and was taken in by the proclamation on the label that it was 'family grown' and part of the 'Go Texan' promotion, assuming not unreasonably that the olives came from a family-owned Texas ranch. When I got home, however, I read the (very) small print on the back of the bottle that the oil was actually a mixture of oils from the USA (not even necessarily Texas!) and Argentina. As it happened it tasted OK - bland with a slight buttery taste, nothing special. But oil made from arbequina olives have a short shelf-life so not knowing in what year the olives were harvested is a concern which, together with the grossly misleading label on the bottle, rules this oil out for the future.

We were there for 3 days and our beautiful, energetic, passioninate (about every animal) guide was named Chelsea Harden! She showed up everyday with her big bubbly, beautiful personality and drove us around over 18 acres filled with exotic animals that you could feed, pet and watch from a very close proximity! She explained in great detail the specifics to all of the different species. She was knowledable and passionate about everything she does on the ranch! We witnessed a birth of a zebra right nearby! We fed carrots to a very pregnant giraffe and even saw the baby kicking! We learned about military tankers (photo op) and shot a .50 caliber gun on a shooting range. Skeet shooting, 4-wheeler tour, dinosaur tracks, cave exploring, and water activities to name a few! Chelsea taught us SO many IMPORTANT values about animals and history! We were truly blessed to have her as our guide! There were other staff members who also deserve recognition! Alana, Chico, Brandy, Chef Kay, and Sonia up front worked tirelessly to show our group an AMAZING time while we were there. The Property has SO many wonderful amenities for Adults and children! Our tour guide Ross, was the kindest person, definitely felt safe and as if he is family. Okay me and my two children have traveled all around the world together, to some of the poorest countries and richest, that have all been rich in love and given a since of belonging. With that being said.... The check out process is horrible! -5 stars. Chief Operating Officer Angela tried to intimidate me with her tone and posture. When I choose not to do the Recommend tip. Me and my 2 children booked an (All Exclusive Stay!) Total of 2 nights which equaled $4500 + $130 tax. My total for 2 nights $5030 including tax and tip... I choose to give. The Recommended tip for your tour guide is $450, the Recommended tip for your dining experience is $150 and Recommended tip for housekeeping is $30. My budget for OX Ranch was $5000. My tip was $400 which brought my to a total of $5030. This stay was for my sons 18th birthday that had also gotten accepted to his 1st choice college University of Western Washington. I was so proud to be in a place in my life to celebrate his accomplishments. Chief Operating Officer Angela raised her voice and basically was demanding I pay the Recommended tip. Again me and my 2 children have been all around the world and have never been pushed into a corner over a tip. Chief Operating Officer Angela, Ruined our experience!
