The Waycross store is AWESOME. Ive have several dealings with them over a few years. Always stellar experience. CORPORATE on the other hand is about as sorry as you get. CORPORATE quoted 1 price, even after I asked specific questions. Does it include valve stems, disposal,balancing,tax etc. They took my email to send me quote- never got it. At store the quote didnt include a few things as promised by CORPORATE. The store worked with me to get price I was happy with for my purchase. Always helpful and Courteous. read more

Called ahead on a Tuesday to make a reservation for today, Saturday, @ 10am. We called THE STORE not a call center. Spoke with someone who told us they could complete our requested work the same day. We were told "No problem." We have been here before with the same vehicle--upon arriving the person up front told us "we can't work on that" despite them doing it before. We informed them we've been there before. Then he goes "Oh ok, we can then." Then didn't understand that we simply wanted to buy 2 new tires and have the 2 we were keeping rotated. He seemed clueless, and we had also already mentioned this on the phone as well. We had to confirm 3 times before he understood. Then, we confirmed we'd be able to get the vehicle back AGAIN. Again we were told "Yes." We leave for 3 hours, go back to check cuz we've heard nothing. It hadn't even been touched yet. So we go inside and we're like "Hey, we really need this back today." The guy then acts like that was never mentioned, says he doesn't know who we spoke to "probably the call center" (despite us knowing for a fact we spoke with that actual office), that he's the manager and says they wouldn't have told us that........... Ok. At this point, I'm obviously annoyed. I communicate this, letting him know that it's ridiculous they're refusing to take ownership of their screw up and instead blaming us. The dude hands me my keys and says "someone else can deal with you." Cool, bro. You were right. I called corporate, and they "dealt with me,"--gave me a voucher while telling me you were completely inappropriate and wrong, and apologized that I had to deal with you.... So thanks. Second and last time using this company. See my previous review. Called and got a price on a small nail in my tire. Saud 29.98 and up depending on tire size. My son was told it couldn't be repaired that a new tire was needed. My son called me, I said not to get it. Took it to Low Country Tire and they patched it, with no problem, for 25 dollars. While my son was there they also said another tire needed to be replaced because the tread was low. My car tires are practically new! Less than 10,000 miles on them. It's very obvious that they are fine. I called and a lady answered and said they didn't patch them if they were too close to the rim. As I said, another place patched it no problem and did not try to sell a tire instead of fix it.. then whole another tire to boot. This and my other review with the wrong quote on an oil change I would never use them or recommend them. I noticed this place is the old wonderful Wilbur James Tire shop. I asked if was under new management and told yes. Well, it shows! Do not write to me asking to call your shop as that will not be happening. read more

Took my car in for new brakes. The front counter manager confirmed only the pads needed to be replaced, not the rotors. Upon completion, the car brakes made obvious sounds and the performance of the brakes were poor. Immediate phone calls were made on 5 separate occasions. Stopped by to take the car back and waited 2hrs, and no one came to look at the car. Finally, took it back again and then the same individual said the car needed new rotors. This was despite inquiring about whether the rotors needed to be replaced, and being told the rotors were in perfect condition and that only the pads needed to be replaced. The new pads are clearly poor quality. I debated going to the dealer instead, but took a risk going to Mavis. No attempt to make it right offered and the "new" brakes are 10x worse than before. read more

My husband brought his truck to Mavis never again! They knocked out all of his weights on his trucks while changing one tire. He had to go back to get his tires rebalanced again. Use this company with caution! I drive all the way to Valdosta to have my vehicle serviced. I can't wait to relocate from the State of Georgia! Loser State all the way!!! read more

I AM NOT ONE TO BASH A BUSINESS BUT THIS BUSINESS IS PLAYING WITH PEOPLES L I F E!!!!!! Mavis Discount Tire Mavis Tires & Brakes in Waycross, GA has worked on Ashley M Harris mail vehicle's for YEARS. Yesterday she dropped off one of her mail vehicles for the brakes making a squealing noise. They checked out her vehicle gave her a quote (it was higher than what she wanted to pay so she told them she'd just come pick it up) So I go drop her off to pick it up as we pull into the parking lot she notices her brake lights are on (no key was in the vehicle- and it was parking in the middle of the parking lot) at this point I was already on my way back to my store. A little while later she calls me crying and tells me I have to come back and pick her up BECAUSE SHE HAS NO BRAKES! Now keep in mine she lives in blackshear and drove it there and had brakes, she also had been delivering mail everyday in Folkston and had brakes. When she went inside to get her keys she asked the lady why the brake lights were on and she said she didn't know. IF MY SISTER DIDNT NOTICE THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON SHE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HER KEYS GOTTEN INTO HER CAR AND DROVE OFF WITH NO BRAKES AND NO IDEA THAT SHE HAD NO BRAKES. Fast forward the mechanic that worked on her car walks out as they are walking to her vehicle he says "did they tell you why it's parked out her like this?" She said "no why?" He goes on to tell her that when he pulled it out of the bay it had no breaks and he almost hit MULTIPLE cars. He said it's crazy because when we pulled it in it had brakes and when we pulled it out it didn't! She said well who pulled it in he said "me" ok this doesn't take a rocket scientist! Now on her vehicle it has a conversion kit which means the brakes/gas/steering wheel are on the passenger side. So I come back and go in and speak to Brad the manager. We go round and round until he finally admits that the brakes were messed up BY HIS MECHANIC. He admitted that it looked like he slammed his foot into the petal and BENT THE METAL RODS AND BROKE THE ENTIRE PETAL. At this point I told them we'll it seems like to me you need to be called a tow company and getting her vehicle towed to someone who knows about conversions to fix what y'all have broken so she can go back to work. He said I AGREE. We get on the phone with a conversion company in Donaldsonville GA which is the closest one to us in Waycross. The owner requested pictures to see if he could fix it and he told Ashley "baby that is a hot damn mess we may be able to fix it but it may need to totally be replaced" The conversion company talks to Brad the manager of Mavis Tire and Brad assured us he would call corporate and call Ashley this morning. Brad never called Ashley. In fact ashley called Brad and waited on hold for 20 mins. She hung up and called back and finally got ahold of Brad only for him to tell her that THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. You may be wondering why I went inside to talk to Brad to begin with instead of Ashley. So here's why, Ashley tried talking to Brad after learning she had no breaks. Brad was completely passive and told her basically it wasn't there fault. MAVIS TIRE DID NOT TELL HER NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR. THEY DIDNT TELL HER THE CAR DIDNT HAVE BREAKS. IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ON ASHLEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN HER VEHICLE AND LEFT WITH NO BRAKES. THE BRAKE LIGHT BEING ON LITERALLY SAVED HER LIFE! I guess Mavis Discount Tire would have rather paid for her funeral than to fix her vehicle they tore up- since they were going to let her leave (they were totally aware Brad, and the mechanic) with NO BRAKES. Here's a recap on what all Brad said: his mechanic had to have broke the conversion, it looks like his mechanic rammed his foot into the petal, Mavis Tire is responsible, he would get the vehicle towed to Teco Machine in Donaldsonville, GA just give him til in the morning (this was yesterday afternoon), then today Brad said: We ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE, we aren't towing your car, we aren't fixing your car, there is no number for corporate for Ashley to call. If you value your life I would recommend not using Mavis Tire because they won't even let you know if you have brakes or not before driving off of their property. Wow, so this is the first bad review I've ever left in my life. I understand that businesses usually are on the up and up because how they treat customers determines success, reflection and also there is usually middle ground between a customer and the business. So let me explain, I bought a set of tires in July 2021 I needed one but the guy suggested 4 so I conceded and bought 4. I travel for my job so I was in a rush and left straight from Mavis (Waycross) and was back on the road. (four new tires) Well due to my traveling I got my tires balanced and rotated by a different place 3 months later. I noticed a slight pull to the right so they suggested an alignment. I took it for an alignment on my next rotation period and they showed me that two of the tires were pulling because they had bad bands. I told them to replace the tires and I'll just move on. Well they then told me that these tires look new and I told them I had just purchased them from Mavis in July. They suggested that I see if Mavis will warranty them because they have a manufacturer defect. Keep in mind I was willing to pay for new tires as I understand things happen. Well when I walked into Mavis and tried to explain the situation I was immediately met with a defensive customer service representative named "Joe" who told me that I shouldn't have bought "cheap tires" this was shocking because I didn't even ask them to replace the tires at that point, they were assuming that was my motive. He also started blaming the guys at Jotem down that attempted the alignment and began questioning "How did they know it was a bad tire" then at this point the guy was visibly frustrated and was blaming a call center, Jotem down and myself for buying what he considered cheap tires that they recommended originally. Well I'm not a tire person I don't know what brands are the best, however I can reasonably assume when you buy a new set they should last longer than 6 months. I was attempting to explain this but this guy was rolling his eyes and once I seen that I stopped the conversation and said you know what it's ok. I'll leave and go to a more reputable company. The sad part about it is that for years this place was Wilbur James and they were the most reputable company in town. I'm not upset anymore, I went to another company bought a new set of tires and I'll move on. But customer beware Mavis is not Wilbur James and I'll not do any kind of business with them anymore. read more
