My Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Nothing fancy to shout out about. Pretty decent hot chocolate.

Nothing fancy to shout out about. Pretty decent hot chocolate. Used to taste good few years back Now it's just average though.

I have two words for you my friend... "Chocolate Souffle". Max Brenner, a house of chocolate is one that will send your sweet tastebuds into overdrive. I indulge (once in a blue moon i swear!) in the "Chocolate Souffle" and my god... I question god... is he in the souffle? Is that what makes it taste so darn good? The souffle is brought out warm, you take your spoon and as soon as you make contact, it melts on the plate. Perfection. Now that the fantasy is over, i will go on. Max Brenner is located in the QV building / area and is usually quite busy. You will find a range of beverages and desserts available (but seriously try the souffle, you wont regret it). Personally my tastebuds agree with the desserts here but not the beverages. I find a good hot chocolate at San Churro to be more appetising but as you've probably guessed theres no beating the "Chocolate Souffle".

Reallyyy yummy chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream! Also had the waffle with chocolate icecream strawberry and banana slices. The portion sizes were generous and was able to share with friends! Will be back again Last note: beware of the door randomly opening and letting in the cold winter air!!

Everyone keeps telling me to go to Max Brenner in Australia but I found myself a little underwhelmed when I was finally in the store. Ordered the hot chocolate which came in a cute mug which I'm not sure where to drink from. You can add marshmallows or crunchy waffle (crunchy micro-chocolate balls) on it. I feel like the hot chocolate at San Churros and Hardware Societe are much better (thicker). Thought they make fresh chocolate souffle but turned out it's ready made one so asked the waiter for dessert recommendation instead and he said there's nothing special *lol* he finally recommended white chocolate cheesecake which came with fresh strawberries and thick chocolate dipping. It tastes better with the chocolate dipping. My friend told me to try the banana split waffle sundae but afraid that portion will be too big so got the mini Max sundae instead which turned out to be vanilla ice cream with a side of chocolate liquid & gummy bears. Nothing ordinary. Maybe I just got the wrong items?

Unfortunately, it's not as good as the ones in America. The hot chocolate was luke warm and not rich.

It's used to be good cafe. Now they don't know how to make just good latte anymore. Don't mention the overpricing on low quality drink.

Utter rubbish. Slow service, inattentive barista and mediocre drinks. The Chai Latte I just had have completely ruined my day.

Wow, this is how you know I'm behind in my reviews. I'm already three weeks past for this review :P…read moreSo anyways, I had just finished the wonderful time eating a burger when I saw a chocolate store to my left upon exiting. Chocolate? I love chocolate! So I went in and got some more even though I had got some earlier that same day HAHA. They have a WIDE range of chocolate that they put in a really small store. There are a lot of chocolate (white, dark, or milk - maybe even more) that's mixed with fruit (raisins, orange, strawberries). They have a wide assortment and my eyes only had about 3 minutes to look through everything, so I just got stuff that my eyes saw interesting. Chocolate covered strawberries, I believe they were milk chocolate. You get freeze dried strawberries with chocolate surrounding it. It's basically a malt ball with a hint of strawberry inside. This was one pretty good, better than what I was expecting. The strawberry flavor isn't a lot, but you can get it come out if you bite the chocolate in half. :P They had dark chocolate peppermint. PEPPERMINT. They have it all over as pieces and they're refreshing. It comes out of left field and you totally will enjoy it if you're a fan of peppermint :D The chocolate melted so this went in the refrigerator when I got back to LA (LA WHYYY) so I didn't get to eat this first D: Shoulda. Get it if you're a fan of peppermint! There was also 99% chocolate here. I'm assuming the person I got it for enjoyed it. ;) Totally would have gotten more if I had more time, or if I had more room in my luggage HAHA. On DeGraves, in case! The price for the three was 35AUD so the price is kinda high. I think.

Honest chocolate, experimentally executed, well worth visit.read more

I purchased a small box for Gayle (for the hotel room) and then Gayle went for larger collection at the Sydney Airport. Koko Black is what you'd expect - fine chocolate - tempting selections - a little pricey, great packaging, great service in the store, extremely good, and oh so worth it.

Koko Black is a lovely place to get some of these souvenir chocolates because they have a large selection of items, including items that are "Australian" in flavor, like bars with macadamia nut and wattleseed. These items are in cool packaging so it's definitely already like a gift that's been wrapped. This store has one side as the retail space and the other as a café with coffee, hot chocolate and desserts. We didn't get any of the café items but we did snoop and they looked quite lovely and smelled really good. We did buy a lot of yummy chocolates. This by far was the most I've spent in one store my whole time in Australia but it was worth it.

Those noobs went over to Trampoline while I walked into Lindt Chocolat Cafe and they have absolutely no clue what glorious desserts they were missing out on. And my friend had the nerve to take a bite of his gelato and tell me that I made the wrong decision. Ohohoho~ Cookies and Cream Ice Cream with Hot Fudge drizzled on top and 3 delicious macarons. I most definitely did not make a wrong decision. The Ice Cream had the perfect flavour and consistency not to mention brilliantly complimented the fudge. The macarons were absolutely delicious, but were a bit too pricey for what they were worth I think but that's okay. Overall, Lindt Chocolat Cafe is cheap, but a bit more expensive than other dessert spots you'll find in Melbourne. However, they don't skimp on the quality so definitely treat yourself to Lindt every once in a while.

The entrance is inviting and sparkling, yet there is a bit of disappointment as you enter the establishment. The chocolate is tempting, however your much better off financially buying Lindt chocolate in any supermarket around Melbourne looking at the price tags. It is small and crowded (the latter would be expected for being the first day of opening) although the small layout is disappointing; and it was nice to have been given a two for one drinks voucher and one of their Lindor balls on the house. The staff are friendly, yet the prices can be a little over the top. Their iced and hot chocolates (milk varieties) are to die for, enjoy and experience at least once. Decided to give their ice cream a go. One scoop is $7 here, so again a bit pricey - you would be better off heading to nearby Calatrava or Baci. Tried their Black Forest ice cream; it was filling and did leave a bitter Lindt dark chocolate aftertaste in my mouth. Sorry guys, however I am not coming back here in a hurry.

As soon as you walk in to the boutique hotel Adelphi, you sense the personal and fun touches. The lolly jar and lolly bag in reception, swinging chair in the lobby and wire horse installation. Walking past the reception desk and ahead to the host stand marking the start of the dessert bar you are greeted by friendly and professional staff. We told them that we have no reservation and are hoping for an empty table ( it was a weeknight) staff threw a comforting "no problem" and whisked us inside. I can only describe the staff as sleek. they are fast, smooth, friendly and professional. Just the right amount of greet and chit chats. having sampled the Mont Blanc and Tarte tartin at the Yelp event, we opted for Smoked Banoffee, Strawberry fields, and Cendol with a side of Adelphi rose cocktail. My advise is to gulp that cocktail before you eat because after all that sweetness the cocktail starts to taste bitter hahahah The Strawberry field is my fave, with strawberry gelato for mushroom head and marshmallow for the stem, lychee, raspberries and the surprise rosewater sphere that pops in your mouth ( or your fork). It tastes like perfume but with cool texture! The smokey Bannoffee is very very strong, our waiter tells us it is the dessert that divides diners. Love it or hate it. the flamed liquor leaves a thick woody flavour and the dish comes with popcorn, salted caramel syringe, ice cream, choc ball. HOW DO WE EAT IT???? however you want, they say..... The cendol is the only one that I could do without but was enjoyed by my partner. a small choc bowl holds the gula jawa, coconut type pudding and cendol balls. They sit on top a mango pudding. If you close your eyes, you have all the taste of Cendol but it's so bloody confusing for your eyes!! Would we go back? yes I'd like to try the other desserts and perhaps the high tea, if you plan to visit, the degustation is a good idea, $49pp for 3 small version desserts ( all you need). and it looks like each person can choose their own 3. Super!! just thinking about it makes me go Om Nom Nom Nom
