My auto insurance policy was canceled without my authorization. I was not notified of the cancellation. What makes this especially concerning is that earlier a few weeks earlier I contacted the agency specifically to prevent this from happening. I explained that my former fiancée (who was also a named insured) was attempting to cancel the policy without my consent. I was explicitly told by the agency that my policy was safe and would not be canceled, and I set up automatic payments during that call. They were fully aware that I intended to keep continuous coverage. Despite these assurances, the policy was still canceled immediately thereafter. When I contacted the agency to request reinstatement, I spoke with the office manager, Edie, who hung up on me while I was trying to resolve the issue. This situation exposed me to serious legal and financial risk through no fault of my own. The lack of communication, failure to follow through on assurances, and unprofessional conduct left me with no confidence in this agency. Stay far away from Sullivan Financial Group in Mahopac NY!

Back in May I contacted the Karen Merritt AllState office with a straight forward request, home…read moreowner and car insurance. Since that fateful call, the level of incompetence and lack of urgency I have dealt with has been nothing short of astounding. It has been a mistake filled 3+ months, some highlights below: - My home owner's policy was cancelled by AllState 2+ weeks ago because they needed to inspect my house - The branch manager, John, said they need an interior inspection, no, wait, a hybrid inspection (which was apparently a brand new thing as of January 2021), which included an 'interview' with me - The 'interview' consisted of the inspector asking me how many bedrooms/bathrooms we have an if there is a hot tub (spoiler: the number of bedrooms and bathrooms is publicly available information AND the inspector knew there was no hot tub, as did AllState, because there had already been 2 exterior inspections done) - The inspector has been to my house to conduct the SAME exterior inspection 3 times - John assured me he was 'on it' and we would get my policy reinstated ASAP. That was 5 business days ago and I have yet to even receive a return call or email about my policy. - My lender is hounding me for proof of insurance because I am currently in breach of contract because AllState can't get itself together to reinstate my policy. - The staff in the office is apologetic and understanding but wholly unable to actually correct their self inflicted errors - The current blocker to correct this epic nightmare is that the wrong reinstatement date was entered by AllState. - I've gotten exactly 1 follow up call from the office staff about this. I have also been told that, 'they can't spend all day on this,' I 'am not the only person this has happened to,' and 'they have other clients,' 'the person who wrote my policy is no longer with the agency' and apparently she left complete chaos in her wake. - It took Karen over a week to return our repeated calls and when we did speak to her she was full to the brim with excuses but no actual help. I understand that Karen has another business which creates demands on her time. I sincerely hope she is better at facials than insurance. - At this point, it appears that both Karen and John are actively avoiding calls and leaving their office staff to deal with an incredibly dissatisfied customer. #greatcustomerservice & #greatleadership I keep thinking that if this office is this bad at just issuing an insurance policy, I can only imagine how awful an actual claim would be. If you choose this insurance, good luck, you will need it and maybe one of those facials that is keeping Karen so busy.
