LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys, and will come back anytime I need work done! I had two pretty easy one-colour tattoos scheduled for the same day, and had Kate as my artist. These were my first, and I was not sure what my pain threshold would be, but I was determined to do it! Kate is friendly and SO efficient! I couldn't believe how fast she knocked these out! One on my inner arm, and the other on my calf (gotta admit, I twitched, because there was some serious shading happening). But I appreciated the sheet they sent me beforehand with everything I might need (snacks and a pillow, ftw!) I couldn't believe I was done in just over 2 hours, so my price was less than quoted. The shop is immaculate, and for someone like me who had always been intimidated by the thought of a "tattoo parlor," it put me completely at ease. The music was cool 80s/90s rock and grunge, and I was completely relaxed there and with Kate. I was given good after-instructions for care and cleaning, as well. Other artists came over to check to see what she was working on, and were friendly and chatty. If you want new ink, come here! You won't regret it! I now want to plan a few more! read more

Maximum Colour was able to squeeze myself, my daughter, and two friends in for piercings just prior to the second Covid lockdown. The location is in Riel industrial park, just a few minutes off the Ray Gibbon exit from the Henday. The studio is on the second floor so if mobility is an issue, this shop might not be for you. It's an open concept top floor shop - beautiful, airy, and bright. Our piercings all healed okay, though I think it would have been better if we had been given options of non pronged noise piercings because they caught on masks, sheets, etc. my nose finally started healing once I purchased a flat style piece of jewelry elsewhere. Booking, waivers, and payments were all made electronically. Environment was spotless just as you'd hope for at a tattoo and piercing shop. read more

The piercer Sheri, very kind but had no idea what she was doing. On their website she allegedly has 24 years of experience but I highly doubt that. I went to get my daith pierced here but the lady told me I didn't have the right anatomy. So I trust what she said and picked a conch instead. While piercing my conch she used a clamp and explained to me that it helps hold the ear in place. Everything goes okay for the first few days, until I notice the swelling isn't going down it's going up and the pain is getting worse. I got quite concerned since I know this is not a normal reaction to a piercing and I haven't even had it for a week. I visited another piercing studio in the area to get advice, when they seen my ear they just shook their heads. Apparently they get all of Sheri's ex-clients coming in asking for them to help because of all the wrongfully pierced piercings she's done. Because of her being untrained, uninformed or whatever her reason may be, I had to take out my $100 piercing. I learned that because of the clamp, it made my ear flat for her while she pierced it. By making it flat it caused the jewelry in my ear to sit at a very uncomfortable angle, causing the pain and swelling. Moral of the story please do not get any piercings at this studio ( not sure about the studios other services ). read more

Worked with Jiva on art I have been thinking about for years. I sent pics that I wanted to use as examples but told her if I liked her art I'd take what she made of it. When I got was both completely different from the example art, and absolutely stunning. It was about a 5 hour session, and what ended up on my arm was exactly what she drew. I dreamed about this - Jiva made it come to life. I can't recommend this place, and Jiva, enough. read more

This business has poor customer service. They have mistreated a customer after a botched tattoo. After she complained they proceeded to slander her name and block her because she complained about the quality of her tattoo. $500+ for a tattoo and it was a total mess. DO NOT get your work completed with the business. read more

I'd give this place zero stars, but it won't let me. I set up an appointment for a piercing, and waited 3 weeks for my spot. I showed up 10 minutes early. No one came in to say hello, or to get me. So I awkwardly walked in and kind of waited upstairs until one artist invited me to sit around the corner. I waited. So I waited 20 minutes, and this was now 10 minutes AFTER my appointment was supposed to have happened, the same artist asked me who we were waiting on. I let her know that I had a piercing appointment, and she said she had just called her and said she was on her way. So I waited another 20 minutes. This is now 30 minutes AFTER my appointment was supposed to happen....Keep in mind I HIRED A BABYSITTER FOR THIS, so now my appointment was even more expensive. So I started getting up to leave but the artist stopped me, and called the piercer. The piercer was in Edmonton just leaving her house!!! I was supposed to wait another 15-30 minutes for her to get there. The appointment would have been 1-1.5 hours LATE. After I showed I was upset, the artist told me that SHE WAS THE OWNER. When I said WOW, she offered me 15% off. THAT WAS IT. Then she blamed the poor receptionist saying it was her fault for booking her and the piercer didn't know! I left, and got a phone call from the receptionist, maybe 10 minutes after leaving, apologizing to me for her mistake. I didn't accept it as I sinerely felt the owner should have owned up to this - this was the piercer not checking her schedule. I own my own business as well, and the mistakes were clear. Yet NEVER ONCE did the owner take ownership for anything that happened. She also did nothing while I waited 30 minutes. She did mention that I shouldn't "judge" the shop based on this experience though LOL. Would NEVER recommend a friend to go here! Or my worst enemy - EVER. Not worth the trouble - find one of the hundreds of FANTASTIC tattoo and piercers elsewhere in town. read more

If working from home for the last pandemic year and a half has taught me anything, it's that…read moreputting on eyeliner every morning to go into the office is something I really don't want to ever be bothered to do again. And don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to going into the office regularly again, I'm just not looking forward to having to bother with eyeliner again. So, I decided to splurge and get eyeliner permanently tattooed. After doing some research, JPMU seemed to have reasonable prices, good experience, good facilities, and good reviews, so I booked a session with Julia. I'd never had a tattoo before so I don't know how it would compare to a tattoo elsewhere. They numb your eyelids first, but as it slowly wears off it does hurt a little, and it's obviously not PLEASANT having a needle buzzing so close to your eyes. Still, the first appointment took under 2 hours, and then a touch-up between 1-2 months later was shorter, and the ink should last for 3-5 years although they recommend checking in after a year or so since individual experience varies. Your eyelids will be puffy and a bit sore for the next couple of days but it's no worse than how they feel sore after a good cry. I had the tattoos on Tuesday late afternoon and my eye lids were still a bit puffy for the next 3-4 days, but the boyfriend actually didn't notice anything unusual when he saw me Thursday night (maybe this says more about my boyfriend than anything else, but ... clearly not THAT noticeable). Mind you, he still hasn't noticed that tattoos either... Anyway the eyeliner looks great, understated but basically how I'd apply it for a normal day at work and I don't have to do anything but add a little mascara if I feel like it. Would recommend bringing some photos of your eyeliner the way you want it to look, or looking through the photos on their site to find one that looks like what you want.

I had my facial consult which was neat because they took photos to see problem areas on my skin. I found the consult to not be so helpful. I was recommended things that other spas would refuse to do to my skin because it was too harsh. I'm super careful and knowledgeable about different treatments so this kind of sent off a red flag for me. They really only recommended treatments which they had the machines for which was pretty limited from what I am accustomed to from going to medical spas. I also was actually taken back by the prices as they were alot more than other places I've been to. Hence probably why I never tried them before. Anyways...I ended up being model for a hydra facial Deluxe for $235 and got 50% off my treatment. The tech was actually new and I felt like she didn't give me a proper treatment because I could feel that she had missed some areas and didn't focus on my problematic areas (nose and chin). Luckily I was using a gift card and got a discount for the treatment. But if I had paid full price I would definitely have been disappointed. Overall. They have good options available for treatments and plenty of products which I am yet to try. And maybe I'll come back for one of their specials. But my skin didn't feel or look as glorious as it typically did compared to getting a $235 treatment elsewhere. So I'm not sure I can justify the full price from this experience. It was overall a positive experience but a few things were off for me. I am a spa addict and I have extremely high expectations of going to a spa for treatments so take this with a grain of salt.

I've been coming here 3 years now for the medical Botox for migraines program. I've suffered from…read moremigraines for almost 20 years and been on so many, many prescription medications. Originally I saw Dr. Briggs here (who was always fabulous) but he's moved to Ottawa with the military (thank you for your service). I've seen a nurse and another doc that recently came into the practice in the past year and have continued to receive excellent care and treatment. The environment is always impeccably clean and the staff welcoming. They now are offering regular family health care here as well as female specialized. So if you're looking for a new GP, you may want to consider checking them out. The Botox for migraines program has been life changing. It took three visits over 9 months for my migraines to stop and I'm so very glad I didn't stop after the second visit. Since starting this program, I have gone from missing 1-3 days of work, life, and fun a month to having only 1 or 2 minor migraines a year! Seriously - like I used to get so bad I would have to see a neurologist and go into the ER for IV treatment to stop the throw up cycle :-( I still keep prescription migraine melts on hand for emergencies but I could probably survive now with just Advil and ibuprophen. Seriously, if you suffer from migraines, PLEASE inquire if this program is right for you. See you again in 3 months, External Affairs. I did my first tattoo at Maximum Colour Ink, and I very much appreciate the professionalism of the whole staff, from the artist Natasha that gave me some suggestions during the planning session to the artist Jiva that offered me some chocolate treats (I was a little nervous, lol) everyone is very friendly with a great environment, and a very clean and organized studio. I chose to go with the artist Alex, after I saw his portfolio and his amazing art work. He is very talented and extremely detailed, especially for the black/grey style. During the session break, the studio provided coffee and water, which I really appreciated. Alex was able to finish my sleeve in one session just like he planned during the first appointment. He helped me to adjust the sizing and gave me some advice to make the tattoo more harmonious. I couldn't be happier with his work, and the outcome of the tattoo absolutely lovely, and most importantly it was exactly how I wanted it done. After the session the studio provided me with additional emails about taking care of the tattoo, and because I had some questions the next day (as this was my first tattoo), I texted them and they promptly answered me. I had Jiva as my artist, such a sweetheart! Her English is so good for only being in Canada 3 months! I booked my appointment 5 days in advance, I wasn't sure I'd get in cause we live 8 hours away! But they where quick to reply, very nice and where ok with me switching my design last minute, since it was a small design. Jiva was very gentle and took her time with all the little details.
