I'm probably being very generous with giving 3 stars here, and that's all because of Dr. Vanh and his nursing team. If I was reviewing him, it'd be 5 stars all day. My review today is for the whole operation, and specifically the front office staff. Hopefully, this constructive criticism isn't lost, and somebody there pays attention to this review. I had an appointment for labs this morning, and when I arrived to check in, the girl informed me that their lab was closed (apparently there's only one person in the lab?), and that she would reschedule me for later this week. Normally, I'd be much more understanding - because things happen; I get it. But maxhealth sent me text reminders last week - and then the kicker was they sent another text reminder out this morning about my appointment...so for sure, it's on for today. It'd seem that if they can send a text reminder out the morning of my appointment - they should be able to send a text notification that the appointment has to be rescheduled at the last minute and sorry about the inconvenience. So, I rearrange my schedule for this appointment, and you waste my time? Then you reschedule me, and I have to again rearrange my schedule? That's frustrating, and it needs to be addressed. Maybe have the lab staffed with more people, or at the very least have someone cross-trained who can run the lab when this happens. My other observation is that the girl who told me about the cancellation and rescheduling never made eye contact. I'm not sure if this is a generational thing or what, but eye contact between two people conveys many things, including understanding, respect, and more importantly in your line of work - it conveys a sense of concern for the patient - which I did not get today. I've noticed that in previous visits over the years, but I usually overlook things. You all done messed up. Do better. read more

Dr Jose Manuel was wonderful but they lost him. Still searching for him as he wasn't allowed to tell me where he was going. Ziggy? From desk has no etiquette whatsoever. Office personnel come and go, so you'd think they would get rid of her. I was told by Tisha to cal sev weeks after Dr Manuel departed. The reception area leaves much to be desired. The staff at check in act like they are doing you a favor. They have no personality and are not friendly at all. You get ignored when you go to check in. It is never a pleasant experience when you have an appointment. read more

If I could give this negative stars, I would. I love my doctor but Max health is absolutely horrible. They sent in the wrong prescription for me. And when I had a reaction to it, they said they would put my call on priority and have someone call me back that didn't happen. Then, after 2 days, they called me. And said they had sent the right prescription to the pharmacist. When I got to the pharmacist, he wouldn't give me the prescription because I had already taken the old one right? Which means the doctor needs to call him. That couldn't happen because it was a Friday afternoon, and the doctors were gone. To Max health, I will be finding another doctor's office. The level of service since Dr Derays office became MaxHealth is a joke. Chest xrays taken weeks ago, they cant find them. Told me I had to call the Simonmed to have them resent? Have my elderly parent at office for blood work and have been waiting 40 minutes...was told they were waiting for doctor to put "the order in". This appointment was made over 3 months ago. I have been a patient of this office, now on Bee Ridge, since before MH bought the practice. They turned my account inactive because i hadn't been there for a year. I called and they gave me an appointment, then when I went for the appointment, it had been cancelled, with no communication. The front desk was pleading the case of why it was my fault, even though they didn't call or communicate. They say they are only taking elder care patients now, I guess they don't want any new blood and in 15 years they will have no patients. worst customer service I've ever seen, including the very unhelpful front desk staff. They took over Manatee physicians alliance in Bradenton. Did not notify the patients put the system in the place that you couldn't get a hold of the doctor's office. Computer system said leave a message and you'll get called back which never happened finally after 3 days I went to the office it was full of people with the same problem. Some of them suffering it for 2 weeks. What kind of company puts a system in that isn't functioning. I understand new systems are rocky the first few days but the amount of time this is taking is unacceptable and dangerous for the patients. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Laungphakdy and while I like him very much, the staff is seriously incompetent. I had breast cancer so when I now have a mammogram I need an ultrasound mammogram to look at the lymph glands too. It took 5 times for the correct order to be placed with the Breast Center. I physically went into the office 3 times talking with staff and 2 calls to finally get it straight and ordered correctly. This was all within the last two weeks. Now last week I ran out of a pain med that I take 3 times per day and have for years. The refill was sent to the pharmacy with 2 times per day, not 3 times per day so I was 30 pills short. I called Walgreens to refill but it was too soon to obtain due to the incorrect dosage provided at the time of refill. I called the doc office after hour number but they could not get me a refill as it is a pain med and the on call doc would not fill the order. I have now been off my med since Friday, today is Sunday and I can feel my body experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I am going to find another practice to go to. I would NOT recommend this facility at all. read more

I just signed up with this group of Doctors, I am seeing Dr. Vanh who is fine as a doctor. The problem I am having is their phone system and their manner of handling referrals to other doctors. Nobody ever answers their phones, if you call in for anything it is a recording saying "please leave a message" so you never know if your request is being acted upon. I was scheduled for an MRI on Monday morning early, I got a call on Sunday night at home from the radiation doctor telling me that my appointment had been cancelled because my insurance had not approved it, I found out later my insurance did not have any record of them calling! Still trying to sort it out. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Vanh for several years and find him to be very good. Easy to work with, polite and professional. But the way they run / operate the office at large is awful. Poor communication; delayed or sometimes no responses. My review involves how they failed to follow-through on a referral for PT. I have shoulder pain and Dr. Vanh gave me a referral for PT on Oct 9th. A day later I got a robocall saying my referral was approved and I must call MaxHealth-PT for an appointment. I did on Oct 11th and spoke to Sheena in PT-Scheduling who said she can't schedule me till their PT-Billing dept. confirmed my insurance. (MaxHealth already knows my health ins. -so why the wait?) She explained that they (billing) would call me in about 2-3 days. It's Oct 25th today and no one called or emailed or texted. I called today and spoke to Sheena again to inquire what's up. She confirmed that PT-billing had received my referral and she can't explain why no one followed up. She said my referral is still "sitting with them". I asked her to escalate this and she said there's nothing she can to but to send a note back to PT-Billing wait for then to respond. (Again? Are you kidding? I've waited weeks and you tell me to wait longer with no response time?) I asked how I myself could escalate this if she indeed couldn't and she seemed flustered at being questioned. Throughout I was speaking in a normal volume and she suddenly told me twice to STOP YELLING; YOU'RE YELLING INTO MY PHONE! (Not at all the case.) The attitude from her was totally unprofessional so l asked to speak directly with her manager. I was eventually transferred to Jenna (who works for MaxHealth-PT). She had no explanation for why PT-BIlling was holding up my referral. Fortunately, Jenna got me an appointment on Nov 2 but that does not make up for MaxHealth-PT failing to contact me (the patient) in a reasonable amount of time. So I asked Jenna to please forward a complaint to the PT-Billing department. She said I would have to call my "Primary" myself to have my complaint escalated. (Why? You're MaxHealth. Why make me/the patient do this?) It is my opinion that MaxHealth's office operations at large are poorly run, to say the least. I would go so far as to describe things as unacceptable and unprofessional in how the office operation is run. Which is a shame because Dr. Vanh is an excellent doctor. Shame on you MaxHealth and MaxHealth-PT (and MaxHealth PT-Billing department) for how poorly you communicate and coordinate with your patients. Some big-time overhaul is needed in the MaxHealth world, I'd say! 1 STAR Review. Proceed accordingly. read more

Am a new patient to the area, attempting to establish a Doctor Patient relationship. Was put on hold for 30min, only to be told my first visit would be with a PA, who would then determine if I need to see the Doctor. That is "their policy". So for those of you who DONT want to make two visits to actually speak to a doctor and not their assistant - go elsewhere. Who has time to visit the doctor's office twice because he/she doesn't want to do their own patient history workup. No thanks ! read more

Dr. Yeli is by far the worst MD I've had the misfortune to have as a PCP. She lacks compassion, often demonstrates a poor standard of care and lacks knowledge in many areas. In October I left on a 4 week vacation to California. I realized a few days in that I had forgotten to renew my refill for my medication. I called the office and asked if the script could called in to an LA CVS and the assistant told me that it was illegal to do so...it is not illegal in any way. A former MD called my prescriptions to California over a year's time when I traveled for work. We simply had phone appointments. Dr. Yeli should fully understand the withdrawal symptoms of this particular medication (not a narcotic by the way). She did not care. Fortunately I was able to find a provider in LA who would see me on an urgent basis...this provider called the original prescriber from 16 years ago who verified my diagnosis and confirmed the medical necessity of preventing withdrawal. To paraphrase another reviewer...what kind of doctor would put a patient through this scenario instead of doing what is perfectly legal, ethical and kind?? Do not trust in this practice. Dr. Yeli...besides being a poor quality practitioner...is distant, loves to discuss her politics during visits and is not qualified to assist patients with medication management. Finally...I wrote a detailed letter to the office manager and received no response...no acknowledgement of my concerns. Beware if you are assigned this PCP by your insurance. read more

Dr Jyoti Yeli has been taking care of Mrs. Nibbler for about three years now. She's a wonderful doctor whose friendliness and attention to detail have impressed us both. The office runs efficiently with short waits to get in to see the doc. One time we had an urgent issue arise, called Dr. Yeli and she saw us the next morning. We appreciate her care and her bedside manner. read more

in recent years MAXhealth corporation took over these doctors office to which I'd been going for 20 years. After nothing but aggravation for the past 2 years, I finally gave up and left . Not so much about my (current) doctor, she was OK. (My past 2 doctors left just shortly after MAXhealth took over, hmmm). BUT the unresponsiveness of this office is unbelievable! I've called for refills, no answer. I call back, and they send to the wrong pharmacy 3 times even tho I've been refilling the SAME script at the SAME pharmacy for years and years. Have called the "priority" phone number they signed me up with (for a fee of course!) which is supposed to get me into the inner sanctum without too much wait. WRONG. Over the past year, I've called with fairly serious problems/questions a couple of times and was assured a call back immediately...not so much. Days pass, a week. NO ONE CALLS. I've finally quit and found another doctor at another office. Called the MAXHealth appointment scheduler to cancel my bi-yearly appointment and to tell her WHY. "OH, dear so sorry I'll tell the office manager immediately!" that was a week ago. NO ONE CARES AT THIS PLACE. NO ONE. read more

If I could give this practice negative stars I would. I have been a patient for many years and the practice continues to go down hill. Unfortunately, the doctors and staff are uncaring. I have had several issues getting medication refills, even when I call a week in advance. I've gone in for treatment and have been assured new medications to treat my pain have been called in to my pharmacy, when they have not. I was in extreme pain, did not have my prescriptions that were recommended to treat my condition because the doctor forgot to call them in. I called the on-call line, on several different occasions and emergencies, will no call back and no follow up on my condition during regular business hours. I ended up in the emergency room and paid hundreds of dollars because of their mistake, and no one cared. I recently called 3 times, before I ran out of my prescriptions will no call back. When INSISTED on speaking with a PERSON rather than leaving a message which they never "receive" or return my calls, both the receptionist and office manager were extremely rude and unhelpful. They basically blamed me for not knowing one of my prescriptions had become controlled (which I never abuse or ask for early refills) and not knowing I needed to be seen by the doctor every 6 months for refills. They refilled, but not until I scheduled an appt. They moved my appointment to a week LATER and did not prescribe me enough medications to reach my scheduled appointment time, that THEY RESCHEDULED!!!! The staff is rude and the doctors uncaring. I have since found a new practice, who I have no communication issues with and who do what they say they will, in a reasonable time frame. I will never recommend this practice. My family is now seeking different doctors as well. read more
