Unfortunately, Ana is one of the worst people I've ever worked with professionally. She has a…read moreterrible attitude and will lash out at you whenever things don't go perfectly her way. Working with Ana is like walking on egg shells. You never know what's going to set her off. If you send her a text and she interprets it the wrong way, she likely to immediately quit on you. This is what happened to me. Ana is a very selfish person that expects everything to go her way and on her terms. If she even perceives that things aren't going her way, she can't handle it and will overreact and make irrational decisions. The main reason Ana quit without any notice for me after using her for over two years is because I paid her $275 for not working one week for me and she didn't like me doing that. It is the craziest reason I've ever heard for quitting. I was always very nice to hear, but it is never enough with Ana. You can compliment her every week for her services, and she still isn't happy. This is because she never feels adequate enough inside. Ana has personal and mental health issues that also affect her work and get in the way of her communication and how she handles situations. It's pretty much impossible to please Ana, as she always finds a way to turn things against you, including good deeds. I wish I would have stopped using Ana sooner so I didn't have to deal with all her drama and have her quit on me without any warning. She has tried doing this to me before, but I tried appeasing her against my better judgment. In hindsight, I should have stopped working with her when she blew up on me over how she interpreted a text message in the past and threatened to quit on me. Ana is a good cook, but her personal and mental health issues, as well as her short-temper and selfish tendencies are not worth the hassle. I highly recommend never taking a chance with Ana. There are much better cooks and people to deal with than Ana.

I am from Denver but live in CA currently and am planning from afar. Sent an incredibly detailed inquiry with day-of event timeline by hour, menu ideas, location (just a few blocks from their prep kitchen) and a bit about the event. Received two separate responses from he and his wife, Holly, seeking details already provided in my initial inquiry like guest count, location, time. Sent several emails back and forth clarifying capabilities, menu ideas, rentals etc. and finally had to set up a call in October (initiated by me after many proposal mistakes) to align. There was constant confusion regarding the style of the event and rentals - TBH, the many proposal revisions due to their mistakes maybe should have been the hint this might not be the best fit. But we went ahead! Terrence was late to the call on October 15 but let me know ahead of time and I genuinely didn't have an issue with it. After aligning, I paid $100 to have a menu tasting on Monday, December 22 when my husband and I would be visiting Denver from CA. So, this is a tasting that has been on the calendar for at least a month. When we arrived at our tasting (after confirming via email the week before and day of) 15 minutes before (6:45p) the scheduled time of 7pm, Terence is irate. Mistakenly, the event in my calendar was in PT (since we live in CA) instead of MT. He says that he refuses to serve us because we have "disrespected him and wasted his time and he has a 4-month-old at home." He continues to say that we are disorganized and lack care and that in addition to not offering a tasting, he will not put in the effort to cook for our wedding after how we've treated him. We are SUPER apologetic - this is something we've spent money on, confirmed via email and have been looking forward to. When asked why he didn't call to check on our arrival time, he said he "doesn't have my phone number. And you confirmed with Holly so that should have been enough." Because I filled out an entire inquiry on their website and spoke with him personally to schedule this tasting, it's BUCK WILD to say that you don't have my number and think sending an email is problem solving enough. We would have literally hopped in the car and been there in 15 minutes had we been given the courtesy of a phone call. All of this to say, we made a mistake, were very apologetic and were treated super rudely and given no tasting despite paying. 0/10 for TBD Foods.

From the very start, Chef R and Phil were just amazing to work with. They were very patient with us as we went back and forth over email to land on our final menu and, most importantly, they listened when we told them what our vision was, how much we wanted to spend and made food recommendations when we weren't sure. On top of that, they were able to accommodate one of our guests who was vegan and gluten-free. We made a trip over to the Big Island 6 months before our wedding and we were able to taste test Chef R's food. We were absolutely floored by how delicious the sample items Chef R created for us were--we knew we had made the best decision by working with Si Nuan Thai. The food was so flavorful (and we have had our fair share of Thai Food here in Vancouver). Not to mention how sweet and lovely Chef R and Phil were! They were so kind, genuine, thoughtful and helpful - you could tell that Chef R is passionate about her food and wanted to do everything she could to make sure we were happy. Even after the taste test, we asked Chef R and Phil for recommendations for glassware rentals and bartenders and they ended up taking the time to do some research on their own end and gave us several recommendations for glassware places (in addition to a cocktail catering company who we ended up hiring and were also amazing!!) Moving onto the actual week of the wedding, Chef R asked to come visit the house we were hosting our wedding so she could quality check the stove and kitchen facilities - it was so nice that she was on top of it and thinking ahead so I didn't have to worry about it. On the actual day of the wedding, Chef R and her team of staff arrived promptly on time, and got right to prepping and cooking the food. The smells in the kitchen were amazing and our houseguests were already salivating for dinner! During the Cocktail Reception, we had Si Nuan Thai's servers walk around and serve appetizers (bacon-wrapped water chestnut poppers, vegetarian salad rolls and garlic chicken wings) -- people absolutely raved about the bacon-wrapped water chestnut poppers!! Our Wedding Dinner Reception was served family style and Si Nuan Thai's servers were so professional, ensuring that vegetarian items were served to the right guests, that our vegan/gf guest was taken care of, that our water glasses remained full, etc. Now onto the actual food...our guests absolutely RAVED about it at our wedding!! I don't know how many times you ever hear guests rave about wedding food but first of all, having Thai food at your wedding is unique and non-traditional and secondly, it tasted so good that our guests still mention how amazing the food was to us a month after the wedding! On top of all of that, people couldn't believe that Chef R was able to cook dinner for 50 people in a house kitchen. Just incredible. We are so lucky that we found them. They are definitely an undiscovered catering gem on the Big Island and our wedding would not have been the same without them. You 100% need to hire them for your next event!! (and for reference, this is what we ordered -- it was all delicious!!) Cocktail Reception: - Fresh organic summer rolls mixed with veggies and shrimp - Garlic Fried Chicken Wings - Water chestnut poppers (wrapped in bacon) Dinner Reception (served family-style): - Green papaya salad - Khao Pad (was made vegan) - Phad Thai with Tofu - Panang Curry with Chicken - Garlic and Black Pepper Stir Fry with Big Island Beef - Sticky purple rice - Thai Jasmine White Rice

We stumbled upon the most authentic Thai food on the island at the Waimea Farmer's Market, of all places. At the moment, they are only a food stand at the market every Saturday from 9am to noon. However, I hope they will quickly find a home for their superb and wholesome Thai food! Papaya salad was refreshing and tasty, the fried rice was flavorful and full of crisp vegetables, and finally the red curry tofu was spicy and fragrant. Organic lemon grass tea and homemade tapioca dessert rounded out that delightful meal. I love the fact that they use biodegradable utensils and boxes, even though they are more costly. I wish they had at least two locations, one on Big Island and one on Maui!
