I have seen the practice grown from two Portakabins into a modern, thriving practice with all the mod cons. Dr Moore needs a team of skilled practitioners, caring and professional nurses and without a doubt some of the most helpful, friendly and always professional receptionists in the business. At times it can be difficult to get an appointment but it is the NHS and they have more patience than they do money so sometimes a bit of patience goes a long way and remember the receptionists are just the messengers so there is no point in shouting at them and getting angry. All the patients are in the same part and we are all treated equally if someone has a more urgent and desperate case then they should of course be seen before somebody else or just has a rash or a cold. With only one exception I've found all the doctors I've had dealings with to be very approachable. My only issue would be that mad scrum on the phone lines for an emergency appointment at 8.30am.

The surgery is centrally located on Bancroft right next door to a chemist which is handy for picking up prescriptions after you've paid a visit. The surgery itself is clean and efficient, with kiddy playthings to amuse them while you wait and their administration is good - sending reminder for vaccinations etc as and when they are due. My only gripe is the telephone booking system - if you need an appointment that day then you need to be on the phone at 8am sharp (not a second before or you'll get the answerphone) to stand a decent chance of getting an appointment.

I left my Doctor of 17 years to come to this practice as they seemed to offer a lot more…read more Firstly, they have a lot going on for a Doctors surgery - lots of advice groups for things like family planning, diabetes, asthma. This is also a Doctor training centre - I was asked once if i'd mind my session being videoed to be used during training, this was perfectly optional though! One of the main reasons I left my last clinic was lack of female doctors, this surgery has at least one female doctor and also a nurse. If I phone up on a Monday I can expect an appointment for Wednesday which I think is pretty good going. This surgery is large and up to date with electronic 'check in' automatic doors etc. The car parking is also very adequate. This surgery has other branches - one is in Abbeyfields in Elstow which offers a good Saturday appoinment service. This is a great Doctors

I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

All the Drs are nice, The top Dr, Dr Hambleton is FANTASTIC! Very supportive caring and understanding. They always get my son, who has multiple problems, seen exceptionally quickly. The surgery is very clean and welcoming. It's attached to a boots chemist which is really convenient. I have years of experience of various surgeries in Nottingham due to the work I did and this is far one of the best if not The Best in Nottingham!!!

Although the booking system is a pain (most days you have to phone at the crack of dawn to get an appointment that day), they normally manage to see you quickly and there's always appointments available for emergencies. Being a uni doctors they must see all sorts but remain very discreet and professional about it all! All in all, use this doctors instead of Cripps on campus if you're a student at Nottingham!
