The Mayflower Cruise Terminal in Southampton has been used for years by passenger ships. Long before our modern concept of "cruising" and air travel, passenger liners were what you used to cross the Atlantic. White Star, Cunard etc all sailed out of Southampton. The Titanic left Southampton on her maiden voyage from here in 1912.
Our Princess cruise is leaving from the Mayflower docks today.
The cruise terminal is spacious and modern with very adequate pre boarding facilities. Access to the docks were easy by taxi, but looked like it would be much more difficult on foot. This contrasts to Southampton 's other cruise port, which is much nearer town and convenient to access on foot. read more
