I went to a few tile places but settled on Life's Tiles. They were able to provide me with guidance on what type of tiles would suit my house and advise me accordingly, as well as let me know roughly how many tiles I would need. Admittedly they were a bit off and some boxes had to go back, but they refunded them with no problems. Better to have too many than not enough!! The price was great and the service was fantastic. What more can you ask? They even offer installation, though I had my own tiler do that for me, so I can't really comment on that part of it unfortunately.

Recently had a bathroom renovated and went looking for tiles. Life's Tiles at Salisbury Plain had…read morean excellent range and were very helpful with the tile selection. We took our house plans with us and had Life's Tiles estimate how many of each floor and wall tile we would need and also allow a standard 10% for cutting and breakage which sounded fair. When the job was completed we had 3 boxes of wall and 1 box of floor tiles remaining as well as a number of loose tiles. I then rang to organise the return of the full boxes and was informed that they could not be returned even though they were 1st grade and in current production. Looking at a previous review over estimating beyond the 10% seems to be something that happens regularly but he was lucky enough to be able to return his excess tiles. Trap for young players! I now wonder how much extra goes into the till now that they are refusing to take the excess back.

This is important because there are other places in town actors should go if they are looking for materials such as makeup, fake blood etc. Not having said tat, I do not mean to undermine the value of The Stage Shop because they have all the ballet shoes, jazz shoes, unitard, headbands, dare I say legwarmers and other things like hair nest, the substance of a hair bun... I'm not sure what you call those things that help make a perfect hair bun but it's like a donut made of a spongy type of material and it works every time. They certainly are helpful, and they can tell you some great stories and name just about every great ballet class or school around the city and metropolitan region, so if you have a youngster looking to extend their strength and abilities by taking a dance class, or indeed if you have a dancer in the family, this is a shop where you will find pretty much everything they would want or need when it comes to dance.

Besides stocking a great range of home decor in the french provincial style, they specialise in custom made soft furnishings, window treatments and upholstery. Quite a decadent past time is interior decorating but it has its rewards in the end, I would certainly love to have this style of decor in my home but I might give it a go myself. To give an idea of what's in store there are brass base table lamps, baroque style mirrors, lots of sparkling chandeliers, cabinets the majority being in antique white, chairs, decorative birdcages (a standard in any home decor shop), candles and elaborate candle stick holders, there's an enormous wall clock towards the back and really so many more gorgeous items, to much to mention here. Give yourself a treat and visit this shop as it's a must do when coming to North Adelaide next time.

Having been a big fan of Waste Not Want Not on Goodwood Rd, Goodwood for many years I was disappointed to hear that high rents in Unley had forced their re-location recently to Old Reynella. Looking around for a local alternative I ventured to Magill. Ecolateral has a good variety and I agree the owner/manager is nice however the prices are generally prohibitive and I decided that a trip down south would still be cheaper despite the fuel cost. If you are desperate you can probably find what you are looking for if you are prepared to search a bit. You will find eco lines in most health food stores and at the Adelaide Central Market. Better still make a short detour on your next trip to the south coast and visit Waste Not Want Not!

There are a couple of things which set Redecorate apart. The first is that they specialise in recycled curtains. By this, I do not mean something you could pick up at Vinnies, these are really high quality and heavy weight. As anyone who has redone the furnishings in their house in earnest knows, curtains are bloody expensive! What a great idea to up-cycle them like this. They have a bunch of furniture in the store and plenty more in storage, most of it in Victorian and Georgian styles. They also offer a home styling service, that's right, they'll come to your house and do it for you and chances are they've already got all the gear on hand to do it!

Although most of the styles are probably targeted at older women, I've still seen some great handbags, accessories and even a couple of tops and dresses that are "age-appropriate". I simply adore these types of stores and therefore Eclat is no exception. For a reasonable price they have some gorgeous items which could be placed around the home or given to someone as a lovely gift. There are plenty of different types of things to choose from, some which will look great in the kids bedroom or some which will look great in the garden. There are some lovely candles which make the store smell divine, which is always an important factor to me when it comes to these stores. This store is on two different "levels" (in other words there are a couple steps in the middle of the store to get to the counter), so be careful of your step. It's easy to get distracted by all the items for sale and to miss your step! Even though I was in Eclat for a little while browsing, the lady at the counter never asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. This necessarily is not a bad thing in my mind because I like browsing to myself and if I need help, I'll ask for it. Though there may be some who think this irritating and rude. I didn't get that vibe.

A friend said get a quote from them before you decide, you will be surprised. And surprised I was! They came in cheaper than the Spotlight quote ( which had a hefty discount ) and the quality was better ! Nicki knows her stuff being in the industry for 50 years and wouldnt let me make a prompt decision until she visited my home to reconfirm the colours and fabric would work. We discussed how each opening would be used to come up with the most user friendly options. Nicki was honest and not pushy and took her time with me to ensure I was going to be happy with everything from fabrics, style, colour and configuration. The installer was very professional and considerate of my purchase and home, bringing everything he would need including a ladder with foam on the feet so it didnt scratch my floors and wearing white cotton gloves when handling my light coloured curtains. I was kept up to date with timing and delivery and install was prompt, without any complications. Its rare to find this these days but good to know there are businesses still out there that provide quality product and service, consider customer satisfaction a priority and offer a variety of options to suit everyones budget.
