Mazeh is the best Persian restaurant I've ever been to. And my Persian wife of 36 years agrees. Their fessenjan is the best ever. And my Persian mother in law ( who has slowly stirred fessenjan down to a thick black-purple paste) agrees! This is my mother in law's fessenjan. Mazeh's is a dead ringer for this. So if you like your fessennjan mouth puckeringly sour, this is the place. I'm attaching a photo of my mother in law's fessenjan. Mazeh's looks and tastes like hers. And that's as high a compliment as I can give to any dish. Oh, and everything else is fantastic. The kebab were all perfect. The tadig. The tea. The desserts. What a delight to find nice authentic Persian food in Paris. We were going to another Persian place on this street, but once we passed by Mazeh, which was oozing with good vibes and welcoming ambiance, I wanted to go no further. I don't know what it was - the beautiful lighting and decor, indoor/outdoor feel with the windows wide open on a warm night, the delicious smells wafting in the air, or that all the people inside seemed to be having such a good time conversing and dining - pure enjoyment! We were seated and I tried all my favorites: eggplant appetizer - delicious. Kebab koubideh - wonderful. Ghormeh sabzi stew - just perfect. The variety and quantity of Persian dishes on this menu was unlike anything I've seen at any Persian restaurant here in the States. The restaurant is beautiful, service was good if a little cold. The half size appetizer plate was excellent and more than enough for 2 people to share. The main dish I had beef and chicken kebabs with saffron rice. The flavor of the chicken spice was really good. The beef was well prepared, charred for flavor but tender. The rice wasn't anything special for me. They have a small wine selection and even smaller if your getting just a glass. read more

I've been eating Persian food for almost 20 years. One of my dearest friends who is more like a sister to me is Persian. So her mom has treated me with so many wonderful meals and I've even picked up some Farsi! Imagine my surprise in finding this place. I've been coming to Paris for a long time and know that there are plenty of Moroccan restaurants but not Persian food. I literally stumbled on this place the last time I was in Paris (March 2017). We had a business lunch and thought our reservations were for this restaurant so we walked in. They sat us immediately and I got so excited when I realized it was a Perisan place. I didn't find out until the next day back at work that we had gone to the "wrong" place but it was totally the best mistake! :) My favorite thing to eat is a jujeh kabob. Their version of this didn't disappoint. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the chicken was moist. The only thing I was missing was the Tadig (crispy part of the rice from the bottom of the pan). The portion sizes are nontraditional French so they are larger than normal which is good if you're hungry. It's not a 5 star because my friend's mom is an amazing cook. The next time I'm in Paris I will make sure to have a meal here. Do make reservations though because they fill up quickly. read more

This business is joke! The portions are EXTREMELY SMALL, what ticked me off is that after spending so much money, we not only didn't receive half our order and we called to the restaurant the owner/manager hung up on us. Horrible service. read more
