Atty Arthur Crooks was hired by my parents to create a Trust and a Will. Upon my parents death, I…read moremade an appointment to see him for the "reading of the Will", and to go over the details of the Trust. As I knew my son, (22 years old), was named in the Trust, I brought him along with me. Mr. Crooks met us at the door and asked my son to sit in his truck out in the parking lot! Upon entering the office my brother was already seated. Mr. Crooks did not mention at this point that he had taken on my brother as a client, just a week earlier; a clear conflict of interest, as my brother had been named "Executor" of the Trust/Will that Mr. Crooks set up. When I asked him for a copy of the Trust and Will...he refused. He said it was unnecessary and too complicated for me to understand. The meeting went on, and I asked again for a copy of the paperwork. He refused. At this point he disclosed that my brother was his client. I asked him if I need to get my own lawyer. When I asked the question, he asked me to leave the office. He said that because I said I was going to get a lawyer, he could no longer speak to me. He escorted me to the door. I would not recommend this Atty to even sharpen a pencil! He lives up to his last name. Consumer Beware.
