This company did a lot of work for my neighbors across the street today. They had over 8 trucks of varying size there all day. In fact they blocked the street and prevented the trash people from picking up my trash today. I had even set the trash out at 1 pm yesterday not knowing that this would happen today. I spoke to the foreman of the job about missing my trash pickup today because of their trucks blocking the street and the trash truck being unable to get to my house. I was told that was too bad and that was my problem when I asked for their help. They said they would do nothing to help me. I find this unacceptable and am really angry at the lack of assistance or caring from this company! read more

This review has been long overdue. Let me clarify that the ONLY reason this business gets 2 stars is because of how friendly and hardworking the workers were. Katie(the girl who answers the phone and surveys the trees) deserves negative stars. Let me some this up, this company has extremely bad communication skills. I confidently blame that on Katie. Many things happened prior to finally having our trees trimmed that contributed to my review. We requested an estimate on 7/26/24. Katie came out on 7/29/24 to survey our two trees. We wanted multiple quotes to get an idea on the price point. Katie assured me that we would be sent the quotes within 48 hours. That did not happen. I had to call several times.... It took FIVE days before they finally sent it over. (Keep in mind that they kept assuring me it would be sent over that same day, then it never happened) Strike one. My husband and I went over the details of the quote and decided we wanted to go in a different direction with the trees. I contacted Katie again on 9/27/24 about getting her to come out for another quote. I didn't hear back(after calling multiple times and the voicemail box was full) and I finally texted on 10/23/24 asking to speak with someone else who could help us. I finally got a response on 10/24/24 saying they were back in Ohio from working with the hurricane. Zero communication in any way prior to that. Katie came out that same day at 4:30 to assess the trees for a second time. While she was here, I mentioned that my neighbor was also needing a tree trimmed. When I received the quote the following day(10/25/24), I expected there to be some sort of discount for recommending this company to my neighbor since they would also be trimming his tree. She said they wouldn't do that since "everyone does that without being asked". Ok... I DEFINITELY wouldn't be recommending them to anyone after that. Strike two. They came out on 10/25/24 to remove specific limbs and to trim the overhang branches of the trees. My husband was at work for a majority of the time the work was being completed. I was home and was able to watch them working every now and then. I noticed at one point that the first tree, that they had removed a few limbs on, had not had the remaining branches trimmed on it like it should have had and the men had already started on the second tree. I went outside and talked to one of the guys in charge (keep in mind that these men barely spoke any English so communication was difficult but they were extremely friendly). I expressed to him my concerns about the limbs not being trimmed. He called Katie and minutes later I get a call from her. I answer and she's immediately defensive. She doesn't greet me or anything and says "I heard you wanted to add additional things to your quote. That's going to cost extra." I responded with "ummm no? The quote says you're supposed to trim the overhang, not only cut the limbs." She flat out said I was wrong. I told her that l have the quote up right now on my phone and that's exactly what it says. And that I'm not paying you anything more or until the job is complete. She said she would look into it (among saying other things) and get back to me. So I hung up. I was extremely upset and overwhelmed with how she just treated me. I called my husband and he said he would come home and take care of it. I texted Katie and told her she can discuss anything further with my husband. I was done dealing with her and her rudeness. She texted me back a few minutes later (when I had just told her not to) with a screenshot of an original picture of the trees in the quote. (**I attached screenshots of the conversation and the quotes she originally sent me**) She said "I just sent him(the man who was in charge on site that I spoke to prior) this photo, on his end he can't see the photos on the item lines only the ones on the bottom of the page. Clearly was a misunderstanding." NO APOLOGY WHATSOEVER. For how she treated me, for her being in the wrong. NOTHING. I didn't reply to any remaining texts because I was done with her and her attitude. However, the men who actually did the work....the specific tree limbs that were cut and the remaining branches trimmed... did an amazing job and were extremely friendly!! Can't thank them enough! But, I still would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. If anything I'm going to tell everyone to avoid at all costs. They were the cheapest quote we received, but I still would never use them again. read more

MBI had done a good job of removing two of our trees, one of which we'd requested the stump be ground. The owner gave me the final price as his men were finishing the stump grinding. I went against my rule, never to hand the check over before seeing that the last of the work was done, and paid him. A few minutes later, their last truck left, and we were left with the shavings of the stump of a 75+ year old oak tree in a gigantic pile. I thought for sure they'd be back the next morning to clean it up, but no. I've called several times since, and the owner won't get back to me. We had to hire some teens to haul what is yards and yards of it into the woods behind our house, and replant the grass that died under the mound. Paez has a total disregard of safety for workers & public. 1-No cones 2-No flags 3-No -signs 4-No flashers 5-No flaggers 6-No flashing lights 7-No brightly colored clothing 8-No reflective clothing 9-Parked in front of fire hydrant. Absolutely no indication of caution or care to the safety of workers or commuters! This is a main thoroughfare and narrow road to boot. They were parked here for hours. The workers were jumping out in front of cars with no caution or respect for commuters. Police were notified. Truck and trailer doors were flung open and left open. Several commuters complained of narrowly missing hitting people and equipment due to the lack of caution. read more

5 men arrived with 3 trucks. They cut down 3 big dead pine trees & cleaned up. Only took them about 1hr 45min. They were fast & did a great job cleaning up. They said another crew from the same company would be out later that same day to do the stump grinding, though they didn't end up coming until the next morning. Not a huge deal though because I was home. There was a bit of miscommunication about the stump clean up. Their typical quotes don't include stump clean up, they use a blower to neatly form all the shavings into a pile, but we wanted it scooped up & hauled away. We told the receptionist on the phone when scheduling that we would pay the extra $150 for it to be done & she said ok, but they didn't do it. We weren't charged for it though, so we'll just do it ourselves. They offer free estimates. A man comes out, quickly takes pictures of the area/trees & emails you a quote. They accept card, check or cash, but charge a 3% fee for card payments. Overall pleased with their work. read more

My neighbor and I had a tree on our property line taken down by mbi..cheaper quote of 2 we got..fast and cleaned up well....totally destroyed both of our yards around the tree they took out..did not use any plywood to protect yards and tree falling damaged ground..they said they would send a crew to fix and never did...so much for cheaper read more

I scheduled to get my trees cut down and stumps grinded and removed but they never showed up. The owner ignored 3 phone calls from me and my husband. We texted him afterwards as well and he did not respond. I wouldn't recommend MBI tree service to anyone and they will just waste your time. Oh and they also deleted our review on google. I call the phone number recommended by HomeAdvisor the men said he will see me friday for an estimate friday he called he can not come he will come saturday at 8:30 AM . Give me a quote on his business card , but he has to talk to his boss for scheduling . One week go by nobody call , i have to call the owner on the business card he said he will call me back , he never call back . After three days i call again the number from HomeAdvisor this time the lady pick up ,she said she will call me back she never did . This company waste my time and their time for a bogus estimate .
