We didn't really know what to do at the start because there weren't any instructions of how to purchase a ticket. Apparently you can just put your card to the turnstile and it will credit you for a ride and open the gate. Ignore others jumping the gate. It's not right and others we talked to said eventually people get caught jumping the gate or drafting people through.

The station was buzzing with people rushing to get to work and futbol fans trying to get to the stadium. Police were everywhere. World Cup volunteers and train station staff were very helpful and patient. We paid $85 for roundtrip train tickets from Boston to Foxborough. Normally, it's under $20. We booked the 9am train which is boarding group A. We started lining up to the side of South Station. They had free sunscreen, water, and bug repellent wipes for us. We didn't board until after 9:45am and it was chaotic. Some people were running towards the train instead of staying in an organized line - most of them were foreigners that don't believe in rules, manners and decorum which is beyond the station's control. The train was open seating. There are food stalls, shops, and pharmacy at South Station. The restrooms are not the cleanest as one would expect from a train station at a big city. We've also used this station to get to different parts of Boston before and after the World Cup. The trains were alright.

The Charles/MGH T train stop is super convenient as it's located right across from The Whitney Hotel. Even though hubs had a good idea where we were going, we still needed a little push from Ricco who has the kindest heart (with red jacket on) and helped us find our way. We honestly didn't see anything wrong with this train station- unlike someone writing about how this station is "crappy" or "dirty". Plus coming from someone who knows NYC subway perfectly well.... this was neither. This stop just took us from point A to point B seamlessly.

It's a small station with a small room waiting area. There is a Dunkin' Donuts right there and if you walk around the corner there is a Jugos - which is actually really great - lots of healthy food and drink choices. The train schedule monitors are easy to read and shows the track a few minutes before the train arrives. Then you go down to the platform. What is nice is the platform has the cars marked Car1, Car 2 so you know exactly where your car will be and can wait there and get into right car when the train arrives. Really a nice feature- not seen on many tracks. Getting here by Uber was easy - got dropped off right outside and walk right in. Train was on time and place was not too crowded. So our travel went smoothly. Arriving back also was fairly easy. Got out of the train and went upstairs to the waiting room area. Called an Uber and got home. Overall good experience here.

This is where traffic tends to pick up, especially after people fill up at Park St. One time a train broke down in the middle of the tracks. We were stuck in the train cart for over an hour. Then the fire department ended up evacuating the train and made us walk along the dirty tunnels and train tracks. My shoes were ruined because of this incident. No reimbursement. No honor. Japan's trains are beyond better.

Some stations don't have AC, just big fans and it's part of the charm for me. Park St is an important hub. You can stop here for Boston Common and other downtown destinations. Trains arrive fast and I could have gotten the hang of them better longer I stayed. It makes it easy to get around town and Park st was a stop we used a lot for visiting or changing to other lines.

A hop and a skip and a jump from: - the Tremont Street Burger King, - the Granary Burying Ground, - the Boston Common Frog Pond, - the AMC Boston Common 19, - the Washington Street Marshalls, - the Suffolk Dental Group, - the Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment Memorial. A true horror it would be to find oneself trapped in the Park Street T station. You step off the last train and the doors are already locked. One of my favorite stops on the Red line. Why?…read more In this area, the train comes up, outside and you get to see wonderful views of the city: the Esplanade, Charles River, Citgo sign! Iconic Boston views! This stop is a drop off for the Esplanade, one of the most picturesque spots in the city, so it makes the area, including this outdoor stop a nice place to get off or wait for your train. Clean, pretty easy to orient yourself and the views! Did I say the views? It might have the best ones in Boston and beyond!
