I honestly had zero clue where we were going, but hubs can read a map blindfolded- so went with the flow. The Charles/MGH T train stop is super convenient as it's located right across from The Whitney Hotel. Even though hubs had a good idea where we were going, we still needed a little push from Ricco who has the kindest heart (with red jacket on) and helped us find our way. We honestly didn't see anything wrong with this train station- unlike someone writing about how this station is "crappy" or "dirty". Plus coming from someone who knows NYC subway perfectly well.... this was neither. This stop just took us from point A to point B seamlessly.

Although the platform was open, exposing you to the weather, they do have areas where you can take shelter while waiting for the next train. There were a couple of restaurant options across the street on Brook St and nearby Hancock St. I was able to grab lunch or dinner before heading back to my hotel.

Wollaston Parking Lot in Quincy is convenient and easily accessible spot for parking. Has plenty of…read morespaces, especially for those visiting the area and wanting to get into Boston without the traffic. It's a well-maintained lot that was renovated a few years ago. Not cramped, good spaced out parking but it tends to fill up quickly during peak hours but I haven't experienced any issues. Alternatively you can park at North Quincy Station which is about a 5-minute drive further down the line. Overall, it's hassle-free parking as they don't have anyone in the booth like they did years ago. Be sure to have the PayByPhone app if you want to save $1, or just have them bill your car based on the license plate.

They're the first stops of Blue Line's outbound and inbound train, which means you get the first pick of seats! During rush hours, between 2pm-5pm it can become VERY PACKED especially at State and Government center stations, if near by Gov it'd be best to take the extra 3 minutes to walk to the Bowdoin Station. After 5 all the way to 1am, the blue line is mostly denizens of Revere and East Boston trying to get home from work. In bound trains are crowded noon to 5pm meanwhile outbounds train become crowded 2pm to 1am (depending on what day) The Bowdoin Station is a bit dark and not too well lit. The cleaners try their best to keep the station clean but the homeless/train riders tend to not respect the space and litter. Keep in mind that this station is NOT disabled accessible. The escalator has been broken for the past 2 years. If you need an elevator or escalator, Government Center would be your best station to hop onto the blue line. Avoid sitting on the benches because the homeless tend to sleep or release bodily fluids on those seats. Though for $2.40 a ride, it's not so bad! The Canada and Japan trains are much more expensive but much more efficient Safe Travels!

This is where traffic tends to pick up, especially after people fill up at Park St. One time a train broke down in the middle of the tracks. We were stuck in the train cart for over an hour. Then the fire department ended up evacuating the train and made us walk along the dirty tunnels and train tracks. My shoes were ruined because of this incident. No reimbursement. No honor. Japan's trains are beyond better.

The station was buzzing with people rushing to get to work and futbol fans trying to get to the stadium. Police were everywhere. World Cup volunteers and train station staff were very helpful and patient. We paid $85 for roundtrip train tickets from Boston to Foxborough. Normally, it's under $20. We booked the 9am train which is boarding group A. We started lining up to the side of South Station. They had free sunscreen, water, and bug repellent wipes for us. We didn't board until after 9:45am and it was chaotic. Some people were running towards the train instead of staying in an organized line - most of them were foreigners that don't believe in rules, manners and decorum which is beyond the station's control. The train was open seating. There are food stalls, shops, and pharmacy at South Station. The restrooms are not the cleanest as one would expect from a train station at a big city. We've also used this station to get to different parts of Boston before and after the World Cup. The trains were alright.

There is a little area that is enclosed with a heater similar to the one at the Fenway station. Unfortunately the heater was broken. A train comes by every 10-20 minutes at night, while in the mornings and noon it's every 5-8 minutes. The train around this area does go a little slow so leave for your destination early. Keep in mind if you get cold easily, don't sit by the doors. A breeze comes in every time they open the doors. If you sit in the middle or away from the doors the green line does heat up!

Except that out here, Reservoir station, Cleveland Circle Station and Chestnut Hill Avenue Station are within about five blocks of each other. An easy walk and maybe if you're riding the Green Line into the city, you'll have a quicker ride from Reservoir since there aren't as many stops between here and Kenmore. Reservoir is on the D branch of the Green Line. A solid above ground station, it has good cover to protect you from the elements, plenty of waiting area, audible and visual announcements of the next trains in both directions, and automated ticketing machines for purchasing a Charlie Ticket or adding value to your Charlie Card. The station is between Chestnut Hill (about a mile away, outbound) and Beaconsfield inbound. There are a number of bus connections upstairs.
