Located underneath Seaport Boulevard, it is located a block from the Moakley Courthouse. The station is also very close to the Institute of Contemporary Art. It is completely unlike any other MBTA station I've been to with polished stone floors and brushed steel finishes. Fully handicapped accessible with escalators and elevators between the platform level and street level. There are ticketing kiosks and turnstiles. Courthouse is on the Silver Line between South Station (the inbound terminus) and World Trade Center (outbound, towards Design Center). Buses for SL1, SL2 and SL3 stop here. And it's worth noting that the Silver Line is not trolleys or subway trains. It is a bus service, either regular or articulated "bendy" buses that are electric and/or diesel.

The Silver Line is actually broken up into four different routes so I feel like perhaps there should be separate listings for each. My only experience is with SL1 which runs between South Station in Boston and Logan Airport. Upon arriving into Boston at Logan Terminal C, I followed the signs for public transportation. But there didn't seem to be any signage for the Silver Line. The signs seemed to direct me outside to the curb, but what I found there were buses for other routes, not the Silver Line. I ended up spotting a Silver Line bus further down the terminal about to leave and got in on time. If you are taking the Silver Line for the first time, look outside for the specific stop at the terminal you are located at. The Silver Line makes stops at each terminal (A, B, C and E), with 2 at Terminal B. At Logan Airport, both the front and back entrance will open up. You are free to enter through either door as riding the Silver Line is free from Logan Airport. What other US city offers you free transportation from the airport? Unheard of. After the airport, the bus makes a few stops before reaching its final stop at South Station. If you need to take the Red Line, you can transfer within the station without having to exit meaning a free ride to Cambridge and Braintree. Though you will need to pay for the return trip back to Logan. As for service, I found that the Silver Line runs pretty regularly. I didn't wait more than a few minutes for either trip on the Silver Line. The buses were somewhat full, but I like that the buses have storage spaces for your luggage so you don't have to keep your luggage next to you at all times. I wouldn't recommend taking the Silver Line if you have more than one piece of heavy luggage though as it would be too much trouble. If you are traveling in Boston and the Silver Line is convenient to your location, I would recommend taking it to and from Logan Airport. It is economical and the frequent bus service between South Station to Logan Airport makes it convenient for easy connections to other public bus/train lines in Boston.

It's right by Suffolk University, and the State House. It's where you can cross from the Blue to the Orange lines though that was a little confusing for me. It's relatively clean, but kind of busy and crowded so that could be a little intimidating if you're jet lagged and unfamiliar with the area. I recommend that you look at a real map before you come here, Google Maps Walking won't work well downtown but especially not in the underground part of the station.

That is where the biggest need comes from. There are just not enough buses running, especially during rush hour. So many people crowd bus that a lot of people get on one stop before to escape the crowds. During the day is not as bad & a seat is usually available. The drivers tend to be nice & efficient. While most of the buses on this line are not the newest in the fleet they are usually clean & mechanically up to snuff. The inbound line gives riders a nice option to South Station & beyond.

We didn't really know what to do at the start because there weren't any instructions of how to purchase a ticket. Apparently you can just put your card to the turnstile and it will credit you for a ride and open the gate. Ignore others jumping the gate. It's not right and others we talked to said eventually people get caught jumping the gate or drafting people through.

We also used it to transfer from one colored line to another at Government Station to Prudential stop. We finally took the correct train and found Mikes Pastry and had a meal in Little Italy. There's so much more I want to see like Isabella Gardener Museum( biggest art heist of all time ), Boston Library, Acorn Street and more. We will just need to return and spend more than 2 days in Boston.

Just because other American cities don't have any public transit, doesn't make this one stellar. There is no reason to compare, but to look at it simply from the perspective of its functionality: it is slow. The red line moves fast, but has not expanded N since the 1980s, wheras sunurban development has exploded. Buses are a slow alternative. The green line is absurdly slow, which means I avoid going to businesses or institutions located along its lines such as the MFA. Someone compared it to LA. LA is huge, but in the last 20 years has expanded very aggressively. They've added Metro lines, trains, and new dedicated bus-only fast lanes for fast buses. Boston can learn from Metro LA. Boston's commuter rail trains are dirty and extremely old. They also come too infrequently, for those living in the suburbs. In weekends, for example, trains might come every 2-3 hours! Plan accordingly... If you travel the same route, or don't go far, it is affordable and you can find a way to speed up your trip (by not switching lines, etc). But if you need to go cross-town to meetings, etc., you gotta drive. And the traffic is insane, but what choice does the MBTA give you. Wheelchair accessibility is also dismal, with many major stations still lacking, and elevators constantly down. It literally just took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get from Central Square to Watertown because I tried waiting for the number one bus but that was 15 minutes behind then took the subway and had to wait 40 minutes at Harvard Square because two buses skipped going to Watertown. This is a 15 minute drive and it took me 5x longer!!! The other day I went from the Longwood area to Somerville, and it took me also about an hour... Another 15 min drive.

First time here taking the Amtrak train to NY. Usually we go to South station but decided to go…read morehere instead this time and worked out great. It's a small station with a small room waiting area. There is a Dunkin' Donuts right there and if you walk around the corner there is a Jugos - which is actually really great - lots of healthy food and drink choices. The train schedule monitors are easy to read and shows the track a few minutes before the train arrives. Then you go down to the platform. What is nice is the platform has the cars marked Car1, Car 2 so you know exactly where your car will be and can wait there and get into right car when the train arrives. Really a nice feature- not seen on many tracks. Getting here by Uber was easy - got dropped off right outside and walk right in. Train was on time and place was not too crowded. So our travel went smoothly. Arriving back also was fairly easy. Got out of the train and went upstairs to the waiting room area. Called an Uber and got home. Overall good experience here.
