This is you stereotypical local newsagent, but it crams quite a lot into its small shop space. This is a traditional family run shop and has been owned by this family for decades, so there is a nice family feel to the place.
They have a large selection of newspapers and magazines, with local specialties and some obscure publications to satisfy local customers.
They have a good range of confectionary, drinks and crisps and do a lot of stationary and cards. Also at the back of the store is a sandwich bar , which does surprisingly good sandwiches. There isn't a very large range of sandwich filling but they do very generous sandwiches. I went t to my girlfriends once and her mum felt sick and couldn't eat her sandwich, which was a ham and cheese sandwich. Very simple, and not my thing anyway, but it was really delicious, with about 5 or 6 slices of ham which was really substantial, and more importantly really tasty!
A big thumbs up from me! read more
