Called The Water Heater Company at 9am on a Saturday and talked to Mitchell at the office. He told me he was going to send me one of his best guys, Marc W. and by 10am he was already at my door. Marc was great honestly. He pointed out that my old setup was missing a few things that are code now, like the drain pan under the tank and the expansion tank. Took the time to explain what each part actually does instead of just listing stuff. No pressure on anything. They worked with me on the pricing which I really appreciated. The guy knows his stuff. Install was super clean, no leaks or gas smell. Before he left, we checked the faucets and the new system and he walked me through how to flush it once a year to help it last longer. I took off a star for the price (see below for details). Timeline: I found out about the problem Sunday night (11pm), Thomas came around 9am Mon, and he was done at 12pm. My positive experience: My water heater (2016 Rheem) stopped working, and they were able to come out first thing in the morning to take a look. Upon reviewing my existing water heater, they recommended replacing it, along with some infrastructure updates to make sure everything was up to code. Thomas explained everything that needed to be done in detail, and I had a great experience interacting with him. The price: I took off one star because they're a bit on the pricey side. I ended up paying a little more than I originally wanted to even with some discounts they were able to provide. My original water heater was also still under warranty for both tank and parts until 2028, but this information was never revealed to me. I found out after I approved the job (my fault for not looking into it). I would've been happier if a cheaper option to replace some broken parts was offered to me as well, so that I could've made a better informed decision on repair vs replacement. Overall, I'm happy with their work, but price sensitive customers may want to look at other options before making a decision.

I explained the clogged drain has nothing to do with a gutter and she tried to say they don't clean drains. It was if they looked for every opportunity to find an excuse not to help. The clogged drain does not need to be cleaned as it is in a standing clean pool of water, but I suspect it needs to be snaked. Terrible to waste so much time not to be helped.

I initially contacted him to perform maintenance on my tankless hot water heater since I had just moved into a new home. Because of how great the experience was, I ended up asking him for a quote on a whole house water filtration system as well.
