Superbly prepared local seafood. The owner and family members took orders, made recommendations. A great way to start a vacation. I'd highly recommend a stop if your here for any length of time.

Buying their fish from port and growing as much of their own veg as possible. If it can be home made it is ! Right down the delicious garlic mayo and tartar sauce . We had the Grilled Sole special and the Mussels El Golfo. Perfectly cooked great tasting cuisine.... The next day we returned and started with a shell fish soup. It was more stew like than soup and more fish, squid and prawns than shell fish but it was perfect and so tasty I ended up licking the bowl clean ! She had some tomatoe soup which was divine but not in the same class of my shellfish. For mains I had a grilled fish platter. I couldn't tell you exactly what was there but I can say there were five or six types on my plate and it was all very very nice. The trump card for this establishment is their pricing. We spent less than 15 quid for two courses with wine. Which for food of this quality is a bargain !

Friendly, english speaking servers, and great wine choices. Food was very delicious. Patas Bravas trio was great, 3 different style of potatoes. The goat cheese and fig plate was delicious, one of my favorites. Also had seabass croquettes, which were very good. The beef skewers was not what we expected, but still delicious; beef and toppings prepared inside a pita, there were 4-5 pitas in the basket, so it was more like mini-gyros in a pita, but still good. The prices were good for the size, all our plates were less than 10 EUR each, and the bottle of wine was 12 EUR. Delicious meal, huge menu, pretty restaurant, and very nice outside patio. I recommend!

We ordered 6 and the waiter was shocked saying we'd never manage it! As we waited, we thought maybe we'd ordered too much but we had 4 hours til the restaurant closed so we were in no rush! As it happens, we managed 6 tapas, basket of bread, pudding, a cheeseboard, bottle of wine and liqueur. Don't know what that says about us! We didn't find the portions huge but they were delicious: The fried Lanzarote goats cheese and black pudding with baked strawberry and pepper cream gets a special mention. Staff were really warm, welcoming and funny. We're really glad we chose the old harbour to stay in as it's a lot quieter and with lots of great eateries serving fresh and artistically presented food.

It's up in the 'old town' part of Puerto Del Carmen which means it's not so 'strip'-like, and has a more down to earth feel. The food was fantastic. Going with the theme and decor of the restaurant; it's more homely and hearty than high-end, but it's of really excellent quality. The presentation is spot on, and there's a great selection. I would personally recommend the 'Prawns Island Bistro' Chef Special. It's prawns stacked in a liquour / creamy type sauce with rice, and lovely veggies on the side. The main draw card of this spot though? The price. It's crazy good value!!! We're talking 13.75 for three courses!!! And three really, really good courses as well. I'm told you need to book here in the high season, which says it all. Great spot. Love it.

It's an absolute little gem of a place but if you don't book a table in advance you will definitely not get in, it is so popular. Unbelievably good food, fantastic choice on menu and they offer a 3 course meal for the even more unbelievable price of €13.95 in total! I really can't rate this place highly enough, friendly service, very welcoming, spotlessly clean but delicious food....not huge portions but just nice size for three courses. I would highly recommend the avocado, smoked salmon and orange salad to start and for mains perhaps the sole gratin or even try the rabbit if you don't mind spending some time picking bones! Definitely hot cherries and ice cream sundae for your sweet tooth if it's on the menu or maybe the crepes with chocolate sauce yummy!

This restaurant is now owned and run by an Irish couple (Chris and Emer King) and as an Irish person, I feel proud and privileged to have eaten there. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten path and not really easy to find, it is situated just up the hill from the main harbour of the old town of Puerto del Carmen and actually right beside the other famous Irish/Polish Bozenas Restaurant. As we weren't overly hungry when we ate here last night we decided just to go for mains followed by a delicious dessert, judging by the menu! To our surprise we were happy we made that choice as we were presented with a complimentary sample of a mouthwatering caramelised onion and roast beef tartlet and sweet popcorn served with a selection of freshly baked breads. For mains we chose oven roasted chicken with black pudding and Parma ham stuffing and a red wine herb jus, plus king prawns sautéed in garlic, ginger and fresh chilli with a tomato concasse fresh herb and sticky rice. Accompanying both of those deliciously tasting dishes was a selection of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables and layered potatoes. For dessert we thoroughly enjoyed equally delicious and mouthwatering chocolate mousse and a truly amazing sticky toffee pudding, oozing with runny toffee sauce from its centre....served with a tiny ice cream cone! They had a good wine list and we enjoyed a half bottle of a Spanish cab. sauv, priced at around €8.50 which appears somewhat pricier than normal in the vicinity, but probably better quality! As we were presented with the bill of approx €56 for all of the above (again a little pricy but not for that type of food and service) we were given a complimentary glass of cava and tiny little salted caramel chocolates! Wonderful friendly and efficient service, lovely atmosphere and comfortable seating in a small but secluded terrace outside as well as inside space. Highly recommend this restaurant for a truly tasty and gourmet experience.

Great food, great service, great everything :-)…read more We had one week in Puerto Del Carmen, and ended up eating here twice. There are many good eateries in the town, but if you are going for the gourmet experience, this is the place to go. And even though this (both times) was the most expensive meal of our stay, is was also the best value.... both the food and the service was simply top notch. And still a bargain deal compared to danish prices. As vegans we often get something from the menu minus the meat, fish or cheese. We had heard, that they at Kristian's Restaurant could make vegan food so we went and asked, what we could get. We were told, that we had to book a day in advance, and get whatever the chef came up with. We took the chance, and booked a table. When we came there, we found out, that we got a five course dinner created just for us, for only around twice the price as we payed for 'run of the mill' standard starter and main course at other restaurants around. When we came back the second time, we got a totally different five course dinner. This place surpassed any expectation. Remember that if you want to order vegan, you have to tell them at day in advance, and be prepared to eat whatever the chef and owner Christopher comes up with. But rest assured, you will not be sorry :-)

The building itself is most unusual for this area, with its Juliette style balcony and windows filled with drooping plants and hanging baskets. There's also an array of potted plants at the main entrance on the street. Inside is equally gorgeous, bright, and airy with a winding staircase leading up to the top floor dining area. Once again, an array of planted greenery hangs down over the balcony. The food is fabulous with a huge selection of both Polish and Irish themed dishes and a good range of vegetarian dishes too. We had main courses of Polish Golobki which is minced meat wrapped in a cabbage leaf and baked a delicious tomato sauce, and Poledwica Sobieski ....prune stuffed pork steak served with a yummy white wine and cranberry sauce on a bed of mashed potatoes. All desserts are homemade and we had white chocolate and toffee cheesecake which was a little disappointing as it lacked any toffee flavour and was served with a very sparse chocolate sauce...would have been so delicious smothered with a toffee sauce I would have thought! The owner herself, Bozena, is very charming and welcoming as are all the staff. However I'm reluctantly not giving it top marks as I felt the main course portions were a wee bit on the small side and, unlike the last time I dined here, there was no complimentary drink offered at the end of the meal!
