My daughter and I have their tea pass and therefore go there pretty regularly. The staff is incredibly friendly and always do their very best. Their cookies are to die for, especially their chocolate chip cookies - seriously the best cookies you will find anywhere. The sandwiches we have tried were always delicious. Really a misnomer to call this place a "deli." There is no resemblance whatsoever to a genuine deli. The stuff they serve reminds me of airport food- bland, expensive crap. You can make a far superior sandwich with common supermarket lunch meats and cheese for far less money. I see some positive reviews here, but I have to think the people who wrote them have never been to a real deli! I'd put this place in the same category as Panera. I placed an order here online and you can pick up the food inside or from the drive thru window. They have a parking lot which is a plus. They sandwiches are pretty over priced for being on a roll type piece of bread. Usually you pay $8+ for a hero. Although after placing my order they did make the food quickly. I had the spicy southwest chicken sandwich which was super bomb. I enjoyed everything on it. And I had a side of potato soup which was super yummy. I really enjoyed that. It was cheesy and creamy. Grabbed takeaway after shopping nearby. Love that there is a restaurant besides BWW in the shopping complex. They were short staffed and the cashier was on her dinner but kept getting up to man the cash register so the back could continue making meals. All the workers there were kind and in-good spirits. They apologized for my meal taking 15-20 minutes however food was good. Yes their prices are a little higher than going to a fast food place but not much more so. Sad there are other not great reviews. I have not eaten here many times but each time food has been good, had not taken an overly long time for it and employees have always been friendly. Next time I may order online ahead but otherwise all was good. read more

Visited here last Friday. Got a large peach tea and the combo 2 for 11.99. My bill was over $19. Upcharged the sandwich because apparently that little sad Reuben cost more. And my tea was extra for the peach flavoring. My friend got a pickle. They asked if she wanted one- she didn't realize they would charge her $1.39 for a pickle spear. This used to be one of my favorite places. Sadly, I will not be returning- I know prices have gone up but even Panera is not this expensive. We both went through the line separately and both thought we heard wrong when they told us how much our lunch cost for the small amount they delivered to us. read more

This has been years ago, but I took my mother out to eat for an early supper and we were seated but it took the waitress 30 minutes to come and take our order. I had to call the counter on my cellphone and ask them if they were busy in which they replied no. My next question to them was then why hasn't someone come out to take our order. Another satisfying visit! Always enjoy coming here. Very friendly staff, clean and neat dining room, great food. They have one of (if not) the best French Dip sandwiches in Quincy. The worst experience all the way around. Food is cold and tasteless. The salad was piled in the smallest bowl they must have. Food is full of chemicals. Went today. Food only took 10 minutes, however there were only three tables at 1330. Order before us sent their food back for being ice cold. Kitchen and front seemed incredibly unorganized. We ate right at noon. Parking lot was full but plenty of seating inside. Drive thru was very busy. Ordered the reuben. Delish! Side of potato salad, pretty good. He ordered the new Yorker with Mac and cheese. We ordered a veggie spud to split. It was very dry and not enough toppings. Very good. We waited in line about 10 minutes. I'm from St. Louis and used to eat at McAlister's all the time, so I know how good it can be. I just wonder if this town literally TRIES to run things out of the area by making sure they suck as much as possible, because this location is pitiful. When I went right after it opened, I cut them slack because everything was new and it takes time for employees to hit their stride. Now that we're a decent number of months in, it's unacceptable that the kitchen has not - not even once in 7 or 8 visits - made our order correctly (and we don't order anything special). Not once has anyone apologized for an incorrect order either. When there are only two outstanding orders, it shouldn't take over 30 minutes to receive your order. It was disconcerting watching employees in the kitchen goofing off and throwing things when they couldn't bother to churn out orders in a timely fashion. I guess I will stop eating here and save my McAlister's Deli visits for when I visit STL. People in Quincy harp on supporting local businesses, but that only works if the businesses aren't atrocious! read more

14 people working up front. What appeared to be three managers watching. Took 10 minutes to take our order. Mistakenly marked order as dine in instead of take out, and took three people almost 15 minutes to box it up, during which everyone stood around talking, playing on phones, and leaning over food. All in all took over 25 minutes to get our food, at which point it was cold, not the way it was ordered, and no apology or comment from the restaurant or upfront managers. Worst McAlisters experience I have ever had. Will not go back until they can get their act together. read more

I am surprised in prior comments, as this restaurant is not deserving of one star. But the description 'meh' that goes with 2 stars is pretty much on the mark for my visit a couple weeks ago. It feels like it deserves better, but I just can't do it. It is rather expensive for what it is, and perhaps disappointing for what it could be. The food is good, but doesn't stand out in any particular way. As in previous comments, I have also observed hordes of workers just standing around or meandering about without any sense of purpose or urgency. The delivery time to my table was not excessive, but it was certainly longer than it should have taken for more than a dozen people to throw together a sandwich at a slightly off-prime time where the lines and the store was not that busy. I have also noticed and am annoyed by the fact--apparently a 'design feature'--that they don't have trash cans around the store... anywhere. That is awfully inconvenient and not very smart, IMHO. It adds to the problems of tables not getting bused and let's face it, unless the place is truly full-service, people in restaurants need trash cans for a lot of good reasons. I wish them well... it is not a bad place, and there needs to be more good places to go in Quincy. I can't imagine that once the buzz wears off that they have the recipe for long-term success unless they get their act together. read more
