The main intersection for the Old City Hall (with ample parking here) is North 2nd Ave and West 1st St. PARKING: The event provides free parking in the dirt lots surrounding the Old City Hall. We were actually turned away from a couple of parking areas (due to max capacity). However, be patient, you'll find spot! Street parking was full... ATMOSPHERE AND DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: This year was Yuma's 13th annual event held the weekend of 11-13 March. This event was ALL about food!! The size of the crowd (for Yuma) was large and very festive! The food court section was right near the entrance featuring Hofbraus House, Nature's Express, and vendors serving kabobs, Dippin' Dots, and other tasty items. Be careful...don't eat too much here - there is large building deeper in the depot hosting a variety of local businesses with samplings of their food! This area was called the "Yuma Recipe Box Event" which allowed patrons to purchase wristbands for $10 and enter a building with many eateries flaunting samples of their food! Local businesses here included Da Boyz, The Garden Café, Ciao Bella, Market Wine Bistro, Quechan, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Hilton Garden Inn Restaurant, Burgers & Beer, Jennie Wah's, and La Fonda. We ate so much! There were also beer (Fat Tire, etc.) and wine tastings from Yuma's Main Squeeze. There were many exhibits from local businesses such as Yuma Community Food Bank (the set up their own Farmer's Market with super-cheap produce like two pounds of butter lettuce for $1 - bunches of spring onions for 25 cents or radishes for 50 cents!), Dole (gave out free samples), and others. There were also date shakes and kettle corn stands - yummy! There were chef exhibitions with fruit carving, chocolate-dipped-fruit samples, and cooking demonstrations. Entertainment seemed non-stop: live belly-dancers, local high school cheerleaders, other dancing organizations, etc. CONCLUSION: It was a beautiful day for walking around and seeing so many local eateries. Living in Yuma for over 8 years, I am ashamed that I never visited the festival previously. I WON'T miss it again! I strongly recommend that you check it out!

It was our second time (1st time was in Las Vegas) seeing James Garner perform & they truly do not disappoint. Excellent history lesson accompanied the amazing vocals. The Guns & Roses was also good not great but ok. The Yuma Art Center was a perfect setting for the shows with comfortable seats, great acoustics & bar service. Looking forward to seeing more performances at the Yuma Art Center.

Such as using squared - off spaces on the former baseball field for groups of people (up to 6) to social distance themselves in, masks optional (within said space). I found the bathroom clean, the vendors (various food and drink choices) and price of admission doable and yes, plenty of parking, as well as roving security. The chance to pick from the…read moreground fresh produce for cheap is a special opportunity, seeing that Yuma supplies more than half of produce all around the country during the wintertime. It's usually happens just days after various fundraising events are held. For less than $20 (or more if you feel so inclined) you can go out the fields a few feet away from the parking spaces and take from a variety of natural goodness, such as kale, red/green leaf lettuces, carrots, bok choi and many others. The vibe is friendly and there's additional staff to answer any questions, help locate and/or dig out the various produce. They also provide disposable gloves but I brought my own. We also brought our kids, who picked their own for their meals and such. Overall, it's a great way to spend the day, either to gather for meals, family time, a something to do and/or to get away from the everyday. If not here, then consider other places to pick from. Healthier food choices are always a good thing! Very much worth it!

A marvelous museum that all prominent professionals and dignitaries have or will visit. But it…read moreisn't just open to those few, it is open to all of humanity who wants to have an enriched experience--an absolute must to visit! It is a magnificent display of history and art that transcends academia by utilizing all of the human senses. Upon arrival, one is immediately intrigued by Michelangelo's bronze arm that points along a line that travels though a pyramid and into history etched on granite before arriving at a church on a hill that overlooks the area. As one enters the museum, a docent greets the visitor and introduces the museum by a short film. The pyramid is opened where you have an opportunity to enter and be photographed standing at the "Center of the World," to capture your own history. From within the pyramid, you can feel the cool granite stone and see the sunlight glistening off the beautiful etched granite in the history courtyard--what beauty the Pyramids of Giza must have displayed during its day! You take a fresh breathe of the outdoor air as you approach the magnificent etched granite that displays the history of humanity. Being inspired by the great artists, philosophers, scientists, leaders, and many others--you continue to walk around under the blue blanket sky studying those topics of interest. At the end, you can ascend up a series of stairs to the Church. As you approach the heavens, you can sit and look out towards the mountains, desert, and blue skies. You pause to process what you just experienced while also subconsciously reflecting upon your own story of life. This is not the end. Departing from this experience, you stop to have a cold Felicity beverage at their restaurant where you further reflect. Finally, you slowly leave this spectacular museum, while subconsciously asking yourself, "what more can I do"--leaving this place with a new sense of belonging and a desire to accomplish more in life!

Since COVID-19 and Social Distancing have changed the way we watch movies in theaters, a few places…read morehave changed the way they do things...Sunset Cinema Theater is one of those places. The way to view a movie harkens back to days of old; as in Drive-In movies! Using a huge inflatable screen, a rented receiver (to listen to the desired radio station in your car) and enough space to hold the event; a good time (or something completely different) is destined to happen. Yes, the movies are second run. But the movie is free, so I couldn't complain. We rounded up the family and had a good time. The staff running the show keeps everyone Social - Distanced apart while in their vehicles. There's porta potties on site, and the usual fare of popcorn and other snacks are sold....as well as alcohol (age appropriate, of course). It made for a decent night out. On the military base, they run a movie every other week (weather permitting). I suggest checking online and/or calling ahead to see if a movie is playing that week. For something to do, it's not a bad deal. Worth looking into!

The Artsy Fartsy Studio has a lovely concept of making arts and crafts more accessible to more…read morepeople, of whatever age, whether you are interested in painting on canvas, or painting wood designs, or ceramic pottery. They offer classes for children as well as for adults. They even offer private parties. Oh, not to forget--BYOB, and snacks. Although I can't imagine myself having to multitask between painting, munching and sipping wine, I think that it adds to the fun and casual vibe of the place. The two ladies who are there are very helpful and they do their best to make you feel at home. In other words, they're there to support you in your pursuit to discover your inner artist. Based on my first ever visit, I notice that there's quite a nice diversity of guests to come. One can tell most of them are not newbies to Artsy Fartsy, and it looks like some who came over are friends. I myself came with two good friends, and for all it's worth, having them sitting right next to me really made me feel at ease, having to sit in a sea of perfect strangers. And yes, we had snacks of fresh fruit, bite-sized chocolates, and pretzels LoL but we didn't bother with eating because, as I've said before, it was very hard to eat and paint and drink. I might bring me a bottle of white moscato wine next time, just to get the total experience!
