Yuma County Fair is in my top two favorite fairs of all time. There is so much entertainment on the Guido stage that you can stay there for a few hours and never see the same act twice. There are jugglers, comedy acts, magic shows, mind reading, and other variety acts. The main stage has a great line up of music all day long, and the end of the evening, hypnotist shows. The stage next to it has anything from animal acts to a big show that stays stationary. The building has had a magic, food art, flea circuses, and giant games for the whole family to play. Strolling acts come and go throughout the day. And there are still your art/photography buildings, animals, and quilts. There are vendors with food, and rotary clubs with more of a homemade food option. This fair has it all. I love coming here so much!!!

One of our favorite fairs. We make the annual trek over from Mesa each year to enjoy the festivities. Great entertainment lineups and music choices. We end up going Friday night, all day Saturday, and most of Sunday before heading home. Seems like each year it gets later and later on Sunday. We just don't want to leave. The fair is laid out well. The carnival area is terrific. Big props to Danny Brown. Plenty of vendors in the main hall - between the carnival and the animal areas. There's always a line for the fresh cinnamon rolls. There is a stage with a lot of history behind it called Guido's stage where most of the entertainment acts perform. Belonged to a now deceased fair entertainer. If you manage to get a peek inside you can see where entertainers have autographed the walls over the years. The main stage always has great local bands and a bigger name headliner on Friday night. This is also where the hypnotist show takes place. Next to the stage is usually another entertainment act - either a turkey race, a horse show, or frisbee-catching dogs. Beyond that is the beer garden area, exhibit halls, and eventually an entire area just for the kids' carnival and the rodeo grounds. One of our favorite buildings is the huge building next to the fair office with vendors, exhibits, model trains, and entertainment. The Yuma County Fair is worth coming to and seems to get better every year. Very windy conditions and it is located right next to a Marine air base so prepare to hear the take-offs and landings of many aircraft while you're there.

Is there a more down-to-earth way of celebrating Independence Day than at the county fair with some fireworks in the evening? How about if you throw in a demolition derby before that with about twenty cars and 7,000 spectators as an added bonus? If you're interested in competing in the derby, there's a $1,000 prize for first place (minus the expense of your completely scrapped $500 junker car). For just $3 admission ($2.26 of which was panhandled from generous locals in the parking lot), our hero was able to watch a spectacular display of country-style American pride and cars catching on fire. PROS: - $3 beers! At a public event like this? That's pretty much a steal! Anyone who was drinking was double-fisting it here. - Good entertainment value. - Friendly locals. CONS: - Seating in the grandstands was packed and it was hard to find any when coming in late. - Ridiculous lines for the washroom. - No credit cards accepted here. If you've only got $0.74 in loose change in your pocket, you'd better know a few tricks or be able to play a harmonica.

Fun place. Saw a renaissance faire there and they ran my grand daughter's birthday party.

We experienced the Yuma Art Center two times in January when James Garner's Tribute to Johnny Cash…read moreperformed and when the Guns & Roses Tribute Band performed. It was our second time (1st time was in Las Vegas) seeing James Garner perform & they truly do not disappoint. Excellent history lesson accompanied the amazing vocals. The Guns & Roses was also good not great but ok. The Yuma Art Center was a perfect setting for the shows with comfortable seats, great acoustics & bar service. Looking forward to seeing more performances at the Yuma Art Center.

I bought a ticket and went to The Art Center to see the Pink Floyd tribute show Shine on Floyd…read more The Art center though historical compact, fit the crowd of about 300 (seats about 500) into decent sized chairs. I didn't expect too much from the small theater as far as the light show but they made do. And The Pig Balloon was bounced around by the crowd instead of floating; pretty cool (the band said that was unexpected). Also unexpected was when the power went out during the last song - but that was turned into a joyous al cappella of the song Comfortably Numb! The concert was very good. An opening act by a local artist when the main act, with an intermission and 2 song encore. I got teary eyed during the emotional song "Great Gig in the Sky" from the backup singers heartfelt singing and thinking about recent deaths to include an older family pet. I regret nothing; I knew they would play it! The band's from AZ. And I'll be sure to go again the next time they're in town. Worth it.
