I purely use this shop for getting prescriptions or medicines when I am sick and Mr Baghwin the pharmacist is almost like a doctor because he gives the best advice and understands how you are feeling and what can make you better. They pile in here to get the usual headache tablets and Lemsip's depending on their ailment of course! But this chemist offer much more. It has those fancy make up counters that are usually reserved for the likes of brown Thomas, it has a children's section that includes all sorts of accoutrements that are needed by babies and toddlers. Then there is the normal make up stands that fit into the shelving of the shop. On top of all this there is a stand that always has twinkly things hanging from it, little statues made of crystal, I have never bought one but they sure are eye catchers! The staff are very helpful too, I went in looking for a particular type of moisturiser one day but they didn't stock it so the lady behind the counter ordered it in specially for me, it was nice to see that she didn't give the usual lazy response of "i think they stock it in...try there". They've recently revamped a little, presumably in response to Boots opening next door, and the shop front is now pretty snazzy. The shop is pretty tiny but stocks a good range of hair and beauty products on top of all the regular D.I.Y. health care items. So, four stars for this local institution. One removed for not having any shampoo specific to curly hair, the normal stuff frizzes up my do, we need more moisture than you straight haired guys see.

So prescription in my wallet I went for a walk first and then happened upon this place. Bypassing the Boots that is beside it I popped in here. Small inside. Stocked with your regular needs. Classical music playing on the radio which I thought was a lovely soothing touch. The man and the woman in there could not have been more friendly and welcoming, addressing me by my first name (on prescription). We had a chat about the weather and rugby. That is what I want from my local shop, pharmacy, pub etc. Staff that have the time to exchange niceties - it makes life so much more positive!
