Angela is the best instructor I have ever had. Whether it is TKD, recovery sessions, yoga, or self defense, every class is welcoming to all skill levels and respectful to everyone. I never regret a single class I take at McCall Taekwondo, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for any sort of wellness or physical activities. read more

We love Angela and McCall Taekwondo! The Tiny Tigers program for 3 to 7 year olds is wonderful. Angela is patient and kind and loving with each of the kiddos that attend. I would recommend anyone with kids to give it a try. read more

Taekwondo promotes these Five Tenets: Courtesy; Integrity; Perseverance; Self-Control; & Indomitable Spirit! At McCall Taekwondo, these tenets are taught and constantly and consistently reinforced by the instructor, Ms. Staup. She strongly believes in them and expects all her students to respect and practice them in every aspect of their lives. Taekwondo is an ancient and time-honored martial art, and the students of McCall Taekwondo respect and support one another regardless of age or ability. Taekwondo improves one's strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, balance, and focus. While we are learning how to kick, punch, block, break boards, do poomses (ancient fighting movements or sequences), and sparring; we are also increasing our confidence and our patience. It helps one to face and overcome any challenge or obstacle in life in a positive and respectful manner. I started TKD in my 40s, achieved a 1st Dan Black Belt, but then faded out of it to help my siblings with the care of our parents. I have returned to it this last year (I am now nearly 61 years old) to aid in my recovery from pancreatic cancer which included surgeries, radiation and chemo treatments. I can't begin to express how much it has helped me regain my strength, balance, flexibility, endurance, focus, and zest for life! Ms. Staup has been most encouraging, patient, and kind. There has been laughter and fun mixed in with all the relearning of skills. It has helped to empower me both physically and mentally once again:) I deeply appreciate Ms. Staup's dedication to make Taekwondo work for all people, ages, and abilities!! I strongly encourage anyone to come to the McCall Taekwondo Club and try it out! It is definitely worth your time!!! read more

I have only been going to Taekwondo for a year now and i have learned more in that year then i could in any book. its a fun environment filled with learning experiences for all ages. Everyone helps each other learn what they need to learn and the instructor is amazing at what she does. She's patient kind and is very helpful when you get confused on which poomsae is which. If you are interested in the slightest bit about Taekwondo, come check it out, it is very worth it. I have learned so much from it. To keep my body, mind and spirit open in certain situations and to meditate when things get iffy. it helps boost confidence and self-esteem. Its just overall amazing. there isnt' enough words to describe it. so just come on down and try it out and see for yourself, i promise its worth it. :) read more

History
Established in 1993.
Master Larry Duke opened his third successful club, the McCall Taekwondo Club, in 1993 where he taught for many years before moving to Boise and opening the Idaho Taekwondo Training Center. After he moved the club passed hands and was kept active for many years. It dissolved for 3 years and was re-opened by one of Master Duke's students, Miss Staup (a 4th Dan instructor) in 2010. Upon graduating form Boise State University, Miss Staup returned home to McCall and made the McCall Taekwondo Club her full-time business. Today the club is still active, competitive, and growing. It is open to ages 3 and up and ALL abilities!
