I started seeing Dr. McCormick two weeks ago for terrible stiffness in my lower back & hips, pain in my neck, lower back & other issues related to a lumbar fusion I'd had 3 years ago. I also consulted with 5 post-op Orthopaedic surgeons who said they saw nothing wrong in the X-rays & MRIs they took of my back. They all said that I should be walking well. Also, I consulted with two primary physicians who recently told me I should accept my limitations bcz this was probably the best mobility I would be able to achieve for the rest of my life. I have gone thru many rounds of PT, but my results have been a disappointment. I'm only 70-ish! By sheer luck, I met someone who recommended this chiropractor. Out of desperation I made an appointment as I had nothing but time & a little money to lose. My insurance covered everything. After 4 treatments in 2 weeks time, I am, much better. I must still use the walker for any distance but I am stronger & my stamina is measurably improved, & most importantly, I am pain-free!!! The doctor's office gave me a definition of what chiropractic does for the body. I do not have it in hand but it says something about bringing clarity to the pathways that lead to the brain. Would not recommend, they didn't check if my insurance was accepted until after X-rays. They push you to get X-rays regularly, which are $200 out of pocket every time. They have you watch pre-recorded videos instead of talking with you face to face, and they want you to pay for a sit down class on "sleeping positions". I came here to get some pain relief after an injury. I was recommended to see a chiropractor. It was a big mistake. It felt as if someone was breaking my bones on purpose. I am not sure how this is supposed to help. It may have made me feel better for a short moment - but maybe it was in my head. I saw a physical therapist afterwards with much more success. read more

Several years ago, I started having a problem dragging my right foot. At that time I was caring for someone who weighed over 200+ pounds more than myself. I was pushing a wheelchair, also helping this person in and out of bed and doing general physical care. A friend who was a patient of McCormick asked me to come along for a free evaluation. Long story short, McCormick has been able to help me thru preventive measures/exercises to maintain a better state of health. This place is great. I have back and neck problems, and the doctor is smart and kind. He did x-rays on me, and explained what was going on, and gave me a great adjustment. My previous chiropractor had a hard time adjusting me, and he said something such as I have a bad spine, so he is having a hard time adjusting me. I accepted the opportunity to go for adjustments at McCormick Chiropractic because I was experiencing pain in my right hip. I love to walk but inevitably in less than a block from my house that pain would force me to turn back home. Even worse, that nagging pain would wake up in the middle of the night. I would have to get up, stretch, then try to go back to sleep. After only a few times going to McCormick I realized to my surprise that I was not waking in the middle of the night with pain in my hip. And shortly later I could walk longer distances with no pain. And now I never have pain in my hip. I can walk uphill, in airports, anywhere without a twinge of pain. I also have a problem with familial tremors. In fact I had given up playing the piano because it was just impossible to hold my hands steady enough to play. Again, with adjustments from Dr. Darrell and the supplements he suggested, I am doing much better in this area...and am back playing piano again.
