When I saw that she had handed me a listing out in the country but which her own agency showed as being R-1 (the strictest residential classification). she refused to make even one phone call to get accurate information. She told me that a 3rd-party business acquired the background for her agency, and she was not going to do any more on that subject. I did buy the house but later a single call to the county about zoning instantly got me the true situation: no restrictive zoning but the entire subdivision has usage restrictions on file, put in place 25 years ago by the original owner/developer. Luckily I didn't have plans to operate a business out of my house, because that violates the restrictions. Then, "my" agent sat as far away from me as possible at the closing table, so unprofessional.

When I interviewed Mr. Garber he was showed a lack of knowledge not only of the local area but also of real estate. He was much more interested in his commission than he was with doing a proper job of listing the land I have to sell. When I refused to sign the listing papers without a chance to review them, he became rude and abusive. I have to wonder if his poor attitude is a reflection of the Century 21 Home Team office or the entire Century 21 company.
