I was working in my yard, trimming some bushes and pulling weeds when Austreim's truck No. 39 pulled up. I was filling my wheelbarrow from the street, where I had raked my cut branches and leaves, for easy pick up. The truck blocked my back driveway, the driver got out after a couple minutes in the cab, it looked like he was on his phone. He drug his application hose to the north side of my property and started spraying my yard. I had a garden hose out with a tractor sprinkler in the back yard, which I got out of his way. My back yard is pretty big and he got about half way to my house when we passed each other as I was on my way to dump my wheelbarrow of yard waste. Not a peep out of him. As I was in flip flops, shorts and a tank top, I went back to where I was working on the east side of my property, via the west side of my house, so as to avoid walking in the wet grass where he had just sprayed. I could smell the drift of the yard application as there was a light north breeze. He started spraying just a few feet north of where I was working and I tried to get his attention by yelling "HEY" once, then twice, then a third time. He removed an ear bud from one ear and said, "You don't have to yell." I asked him not to spray where I was still working after I responded with I tried to get your attention three times. He said he was just trying to do his job, which I interpreted as, "get out of my way!" He was going to continue to spray my yard where I told him I didn't want him to, when I told him to leave. He was a rude little prick and acted like me working in my own yard was a huge inconvenience to him. He wouldn't leave so I went to get my cell phone in the house and told him I was calling the cops. I called Austreims' Brookings office instead and reported the incident to a woman on the line. I am done with them! Why can't I give zero stars?

So- my husband travels for work and has stayed in hotels more in the past 5 years than stayed at…read morehome. He is on the road about 250-300 days a year. That being said- he has stayed at his fair share of hotels including being a Choice Member. So, he booked this one for a work trip. The price was ridiculous for a Comfort Inn- nearly 200 a night for the weekends and about 150 a night during the weekdays....for South Dakota!? (it's not Sturgis time). He always books a couple weeks out, and hotels have never had an issue ending the reservation early due to his job moving him to another state/city. Hotels work frequently with companies such as GE, Oil, etc in order to keep good relationships with these traveling workers. Go to checkout yesterday morning (Wed) and he tells the front desk girl he is checking out 2 days early due to having to go to Texas. She says there will be an early checkout fee of $356 in addition to paying the 2 nights that he wants to leave early. An early checkout fee of $356?!?! And still the nightly charge?!!? Never heard of this, and I myself also used to travel for work. So, he said- okay here's the key but I won't be checking out until Friday. Still had to pay the 2 nights but said (rightly so) will not pay the $356 early checkout fee. BTW there was no maid service during the nearly 2 week stay and the front desk lacked customer service....so what is that $356 early checkout fee?! Will be calling Choice Corporate about this!

They have such a large and varied assortment of trees, which I thoroughly enjoy seeing. They usually carry are larger choice of trees than what I see there in Watertown. What I also enjoy is chopping it up with the employees here. I know my trees pretty well and they also understand the species, and sub-species; which ones are grafted, spliced, new subspecies and so forth. They also understand which ones handle sub-optimal conditions, which allows for better choice for choosing which trees. What's also a big adder in the decision making process is they also will work with you to throw in some meaningful discounts. All in all, I plan on returning more often and can't wait to see what's new for that season for tree planting.

Pluses: door to parking lot and door to hallway. Sink in another room, nice when someone is in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping replenished towels, made beds and took out garbage. Location is close to Lowes, and Walmart. Negatives: 1 blanket and had to increase the thermostat to sleep. Breakfast was sparce, powdered eggs and sausage both days, cereal and packaged muffins, packaged apple juice and milk. Ripped carpet, rust on ceiling, paint coming off door by bathroom, conditioner dispenser did not squeeze conditioner in tub. Rust on lampshade, frost in fridge, froze my Dr Pepper zero! This place has potential when rooms are fully renovated, and repainted outside and in the hallways. Next time I'll be in charge of bookings.

When we talked to the staff they acted like it was normal and handed us a cleaning solution to clean our heater with. When we opened the heater to clean it we realized that it was way more than we could clean ourselves. They moved us to an upstairs room that was a little better, minus the soiled comforters. We all came home with Temps and breathing problems. One of my daughters completely broke out in hives. I now wish I would've checked more reviews as I see this issue had been brought to their attention 9 months ago.

I called from Sioux Falls because the store here was out of the Thuja (arborvitie) trees. I was connected to Courtney in lawn and garden. I asked her if she would pick out 5 of the trees and to pick them out as if she was shopping for her mother. I went the next morning to pick them up and I had barely entered the store when I was met by a nice young gentleman named Ethan. He knew exactly why I was there and he quickly brought the trees up front and happily loaded them into my car( and it was pouring down rain!). Drove over an hour to purchase flooring, took another hour just to get it ordered properly was told…read moreit would take about 3-7 days to get it then they would contact to deliver, after 8 days I contacted the store to find out that only a partial shipment was received, 9 boxes had to be reorder in addition they did not know when the molding would arrive, I had already explained that I was under a timeline and that I would need to cancel the entire order since they could not give me a status on when everything would be at the store. I spoke to a alleged Manager (Michelle) who assured me that everything was canceled and she would be sending a return receipt promptly, needless to say I checked my C/C and it still showed a balance and only a partial refund had been credited, I called and spoke to Michelle again and she stated instead of giving me a total refund, they did a partial and put the rest on a gift card because I had called and reordered the 9 boxes that was missing from the original order, I told her at no time had I called to reordered anything and that I had not authorized anyone to do so on my behalf, she said well that is what they did and there was nothing they could do about it. Which is total BS as even their policy states that in the case of returns a full credit to C/C used will be given. In the mean time I have file a complaint with the BBB as Well as AG Office. I would never recommend this store for anything, they have no appreciation for Veterans or Seniors.
