I'm still not sure how that place pertains to Spain, but the cafe in Sitges is part of the Federal chain, one of seven in the country. Close to the beach, this bustling cafe was just across the street from our hotel, so it was easy to start our day here. Their "Earlier" menu was chock full of goodies from açaí bowls to breakfast plates to burgers. Jamie W had the 10,5€ Morning Vegan Burger, a Beyond Meat patty encased in a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, Spanish onion, and chipotle aioli. The ambience is great, and the presentation of the food is really nice as well. Biggest issue was the taste, the pancakes tasted both a bit undercooked and tough at the same time. Honestly we would've been fine with bacon and eggs, but I was swayed by their more exotic menu items. But first, I have to mention the service. What service? Jamie W and I took a table in their patio where others were already dining. We were waiting for acknowledgment from one of the young staff members. In what felt like an interminable amount of time, I got up to see if we could receive some service. It looked like the staff was taking an extended break chatting with the aged owner. I had to ask for menus which I eventually had to pick up myself. I compounded this lapse by ordering one of their signature plates, the 16,5€ Peking Duck Waffle which sounds more interesting than the result. It wasn't really Peking duck but dried shards on top of an equally dry waffle presumably acting as the doppelgänger for the pancake. Finding their website, I emailed the owner in English, and he confirmed almost immediately. It was only five minutes away. We then double downed with glasses of freshly squeezed Orange Juice - a 6€ Large for Jamie and a 4€ Small for me.
